Estate planning for seniors -- especially during a period of grief -- requires far more than legal competence; it demands patience, clarity, and genuine compassion. This office failed to meet that standard. From the start, Jennifer Lumsdaine was condescending and disrespectful to my mother, treating her as though her concerns were unimportant. It was painful to witness. Most concerning was the process after the initial meeting. Despite multiple requests, we faced unnecessary difficulty in obtaining copies of the documents my mother had paid for. They were only provided after we resorted to a formal written request. The communication from the office throughout this process was consistently dismissive. My Warning to Other Families: Do not use Jennifer Lumsdaine. If you are seeking help for a senior parent, especially during a time of loss, I strongly urge you to avoid this office. An attorney in this field must demonstrate both technical knowledge and empathy. Based on our experience, Jennifer Lumsdaine prioritizes neither. I am very disappointed with my experience with this law firm. I acquired services back in September regarding a living trust in which our siutuation had a specific clause that needed legal guidance. While the attorney made it seem like she was there to help and gladly took a retainer fee of $5,000 she really wasn't a help at all. Jana advise the next step she would look over the trust and prepare documentation / notify appropriate personnel. I hadn't heard from Jana UNTIL 2 & 1/2 months later because the opposing counsel was pressuring her for a response. At that she messages me at 8:30 PM the day before thanksgiving. Not giving any helpful advice but pretty much rolling the ball in our court for a response. I terminated our relationship with her 2 days later. I asked if she could provide me with information as to what was done up to date and she would not respond. It was even hard to get a timely response from billing for a final invoice. This firm needs to do better and hold their employees accountable instead of having a ball at these team building meetings. How disappointing it is to see them going to the movies, hanging at the golf courses, and having stupid photo opts and yet I can't get support or a response in a timely manner. Please consider doing your own research before making a decision to take on this firm. read more

Very recently I had a file that didn't have a deed recorded properly and I found out from the client that TLD Law was in fact his attorney. I received permission from him to give them a call and Jennifer was so polite and understanding of what was needed in regards to our transaction. She not only recorded the proper deed we needed, she didn't fuss over any extra costs and was very accommodating. She is a true professional and I would recommend her and her firm to anyone that is need of an attorney. Brian is also just as wonderful. We used TLD law firm for our trust and it was a very fair price. But we hired another attorney from this firm to solve a contractor dispute. This senior attorney gave the work to a junior attorney who was supposed to draft a proposal, but he sat on it for several weeks and used up the entire retainer, producing nothing except an acknowledgment of the lawsuit filed against us. We've requested an adjustment to our bill as we have now terminated our relationship with this firm and hired another attorney. Our requests have been ignored. read more

Please do not hire this firm for anything beyond basic estate issues. I made the grave error of engaging them for a complex breach of contract case and they botched it so profoundly that I nearly lost my house. I would have been better off representing myself and save the $25K wasted on their profound lack of legal advice. The only thing they proved capable of doing is generating bills. This should honestly be a much longer review, but it's simply too stressful to think of all of the things they screwed up during the course of my litigation. I'm having health issues now as a result of their negligence. Opposing counsel had asked to settle months ago and they managed to somehow fumble that completely. Now I need to start all over with new attorneys and may have compromised my rights and leverage trusting them. read more

This law firm was referred to me by the teacher's union, as I was able obtain an hour free consultation. I decided to hire the attorney, Daniel Gold because he seemed knowledgeable about teachers retirement etc. I have since left the firm and hired a new attorney based on multiple confidentiality issues as well as extremely SLOW progress. Here are some of the reasons I DO NOT RECCOMEND DANIEL GOLD of TLD LAW: 1. A paper bill was mailed to my residence where I was still residing with my ex who had no idea I had retained an attorney. After complaining and fearing my safety (anger management issues), this happened yet again several months later when I received another statement! ALL communication was to take place via email. 2. After submitting all information for filing, I was told when the paperwork would be submitted to court and a date that he would be served. Weeks later- still no serving. I hired my own person to have him served because I wanted the process to start moving in a timely manner. 3. Over 4 moths later, and MANT emails where I asked, "What are the next steps?" the only thing they did for me was type up my financial disclosure information that I had provided. I was charged about $1,500.00 to type this up and for the initial filing!!!! 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY- CONFIDENTILITY WAS BREECHED!!!! TLD Law sent me another couple's divorce paperwork via email!!!!! I certainly hope my personal information, especially my kids info.,wasn't shared with others. I have lost confidence in Daniel Gold. 5. I requested a refund of my large retainer fee in order to seek a different attorney. Daniel Gold "authorized" a refund that included the balance to my additional deposit which was MINE in the first place, with a small additional refund. I will be contacting the couple of the divorce paperwork to be sure they are aware, as I know I would want to know. I will also contact the teacher's union to ask them to reconsider further referrals to this firm. read more

Cons: He dropped me after his firm was hired by my opponent. My opponent has much deeper pockets than me. I hired him first. Their secretary kept calling me every few weeks to come in for a status. I did this once and realize there weren't any real status. After she called me to meet in there office for status again, I told her that I didn't want to meet. From, my perspective there weren't any status. This was their way of charging to my retainer in my opinion. Would I hire Matt again? Maybe? He seems like an honest person. Dan R. Gold came highly recommended, but he really failed me. I paid him $9000 and he did nothing. He never represented me. He over charged on all his time, even emails he read and responded to from me. He never helped prepare me for mediation and the 730 I had to go through in my divorce. I had no idea what to expect and when I attended those I was not prepared. My ex was very prepared. I felt very taken advantage of. When I fired him and found another attorney he tried to collect another $10000! We ended up settling at a lower rate, just so I could be done with it. I had enough on my plate to deal with. In my opinion and perception, I would not recommend this man to represent you in a divorce or custody issue read more
