I called Thrive Salon, which is where she was employed, to find out that she was no longer working there. The owners of Thrive Salon were not interested in honoring the gift certificate, only interested in providing the service and collecting more money. The reason: Zenia is an independent contractor and therefore it has nothing to do with them. Why does Thrive Salon get to benefit from advertising her services, which increases their business/bottom line, but claims no responsibility? After informing Zenia that I was going to file a claim with the BBB did she finally respond to me and my son. The kicker is...she wants more money for an in-home appointment, which is what she can offer right now, as she has no studio. I want my $240 dollars back, as we would never feel comfortable using her service, nor have her in our home.
