They sent me damaged, opened products. After I sent several pictures. They then offered me an $8.00 credit to keep their opened product. Which could have very well been contaminated. I posted their unprofessionalism and lack of respect for a faithful customer. They then posted a garbage statement "We hope that we have restored your confidence in us by issuing you a full refund." HELLO!!!! YOU HAD TO ISSUE ME A FULL REFUND! I SENT YOU YOUR DAMAGED PRODUCT BACK ALONG WITH YOUR SAMPLES! YOU DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO RESTORE ANY CONFIDENCE IN YOUR COMPANY! I ordered Versagel from TKB to try theirs out before trying other company's gloss base, however, they cancelled my order with no explanation as to why? I don't see how they expect people to come back to use them as a distributer if they don't give you any reasoning for their operation. I'll just have to use their competitors. Although their website & yelp page says by appointment only they have no appointments. I called about a week ago to set up an appointment a guy answered the phone and forwarded me to customer service. Their customer service is an answering machine. I then made an online ticket explaining what my business partner & I was trying to do. An automated email saying they got my message. No phone call or real person email. My partner & I went by the warehouse today to try and set up an appointment. The guy asked us what's our business. Has nothing to do with seeing products. Lol. Then he says they are very busy and don't do appointments. If this was the case why didn't he tell me over the phone? I'm sure it's a great place to buy online but not if you're trying to see the quality of products before you buy. Based on my experience so far I wouldn't do business with them. For the mad chemist/artist/color freak, this is probably one of my favorite places to find ingredients for making powder-based makeup (including making your own mineral makeup). I have not been to their location, but I have bought a bunch of stuff from their website, and let me tell you...I will never need to purchase store-bought makeup again! I have their mineral makeup kit, where I learned how to create my own mineral foundation from raw ingredients, and I blended colors to make a perfect match to my skintone! My first day wearing it to work, my coworker even complimented me on my skin looking better (shhh, it was the makeup!). "Samples" of colored micas can be used for endless applications, or with a little eyeshadow primer, can be used straight as eye shadow. The amazing thing: the sample is only $1.50 and you'll probably never need to buy it ever again! (Most samples are a full tablespoon, which is a LOT of loose eye shadow!) I've purchased a number of times online from TKB, for products to make my own eyeshadows, specifically. The prices are always reasonable, especially since I'm just focusing on personal use. Shipping gets pricier if you order larger items (jars, etc.), but for small things it's very low. Shipping times are always prompt in my experience. Just reading the descriptions of different base powder/additives and users comments have been Very helpful and eventually gave me the confidence to try it out for myself. I Made two purchases from this site. What a mistake. First order I placed should have forewarned me of the troubles ahead. I paid for FedEx shipping and they sent it USPS Priority at a cheaper rate. I emailed and complained, and lo and behold, they miraculously got my order back from USPS and shipped it FedEx. I finally received this order after waiting 10 days. Two weeks later I place another order and pay for FedEx shipping. Once again they send it USPS,so once again I email them to notify them of their mistake. I was first informed it was to late to correct the shipping because the package had shipped, Then I get an email saying they could retrieve my order and send it correctly. Next day I get an email saying it had been sent USPS with a tracking number. I email them back asking for a refund of the difference in shipping fees. This I finally get 6 days later. A week goes by, no order (I was told by Kaila, the TBK owner, I would have my order in three days). I write an email letting Kaila know of my dissatisfaction with the shipping. She emails back telling me to do business with someone else, she can't work with me. Two weeks go by after I was told my order shipped and still no order. I email Kaila(the TBK owner) and ask her for her help in tracking my package. Once again she tells me to do business with someone else. Then she says she will reship my order FedEx (which I had paid for originally) and I would be sent the FedEx tracking number. I was sent a FedEx tracking number alright. It was the SAME tracking number they said was the USPS tracking number. Scam artist or not ???? I am so fed up with this company and their deceptive practice at this point, that I am turning the matter over to my attorney to pursue legal recourse. Beware of this company. I do not recommend that you buy anything from this company unless you live down the street from them and you can physically pick up your order yourself, or you may find yourself out of luck and your money, and hiring an attorney, just like myself. I have been making my own cosmetics for about 7 years and I use some of TKB's glitters and micas for my various other crafts like resin jewelry. Prior to last year, I placed at least 4 orders a month with the company and my orders used to be filled perfectly but sometime in the middle of 2014 I had to stop because of poor customer service. My orders were either incomplete/missing items or I was sent the wrong items entirely. I always make sure to double/triple check my cart and I keep track of what I order. I'm sure it was never an issue with their stock because I have friends who also placed regular orders and they had what my orders were missing. I know missing items were properly ordered because they showed up on the invoice. Whenever I had an issue with an order, I would contact the company through the ticket form on their site and within 3-4 days I'd get one email with a link to their "How TKB handles problems" page, which is basically a page where they ask you to email them with photos and your order invoice. I include everything they asked for and I make sure to email it to the right address, only to never get an email back from them. Only once did I actually get a reply from them, and it was basically them saying "sorry, let us know if you want us to mail the missing items to you". Of course I wanted what I paid for so I replied that I would. I didn't get another email or even the package with what I ordered. At first I thought it was just my emails not going through properly, but I used 3 different email addresses (iCloud, Yahoo, and Gmail) to message them so what are the odds that messages from 3 emails weren't going through. I was genuinely sad the day I came to the conclusion that I had to stop ordering from them because I got maybe 90% of my supplies from them and their selection is amazing. About two weeks ago I ordered a large package to see if I would have the same issues and once again, my order was incomplete. I could accept if one or two orders weren't right/complete, but my last 5 orders had issues with them and they were never resolved. I could even accept if the 5 orders were incomplete and only missing small, cheap items but the missing items from my orders usually totaled about $50. Considering my average order was between $150-$200, I would expect some sort of better service. I kept thinking to give the company chances because of how long they had been great to me, but until they improve their service, I won't be back. read more
