Awesome. Just awesome. Ever wonder where those armies of clothes that don't get sold once the season is over go. Straight into here, TK max picks it up then reduces the cost and hands it over to you. They have all sorts of crap in TK max that you can while away the hours with considering whether you need it or not. If your need a fancy dress head here, if you want alright branded clothing head here, basically if you want to save money but don't want to dress in an old potato sack or something to that effect head here. The list of usual things I've picked up dirt cheap is ever lasting including flip flops, t-shirts and trainers.

This Manchester's best secret for buying designer labels for less. TK Maxx is a Discount designer-fashion retailer (clearing store) hence you get only whats available on the rails/ shelves. To get the best bargains its best to visit regularly to familiarize yourself with their departments, sub departments, floor layout, only then will you be on the money. I like this store I've bought Ed-hardy jeans for GBP49.99 that cost GBP199.99 in Selfridges, Osprey leather messenger bags GBP 79.99 and cost a whooping GBP 300. Its best to avoid Saturdays because its very busy, best to go there on Thursday evening when they close late. As for staff well don't really need their help because I'm very busy stuck in looking for that bargain, only need them when i want try on something in their changing rooms and checking out. Thank god for TK Maxx

T K Maxx in the city centre The shop is on two floors on the lower ground is men's and home and on ground is woman's. This is 60% off recommended retail price. Most of this is designer but I've never heard of some of the names. Staff seem to be friendly and helpful.

An absolute dump. Clothes on the floor and looks like a carboot sale. Biggest waste of time

Review Highlights - TK Maxx

I have bought the majority of my jeans from here including a Calvin Klein pair for £8 which I ruined a couple of weeks later by sitting on sticky green paint on a bench in Moscow.

But then I guess a bit of 'man' is lost once you start going towards designer, which this shop definitely is. The January sales are still in effect here, with t-shirts discounted from £80 to £40. I wouldn't spend £80 on a t-shirt, but then I definitely wouldn't spend £40 either. I just don't quite understand the whole put sparkle on any item of clothing whether it's a t-shirt or some jeans policy to make clothes designer thing. It doesn't really work for me. That said, there's an amazing selection of jeans, t-shirts and jackets in Swagger Menswear and unfortunately it just isn't really to my taste. If being flashy is your thing, you could well find something here for you.

Ah, the swagger. But this Swagger is a menswear shop that boasts some famous clients. It's just that... the clients aren't exactly my cup of tea clotheswise. Darren from Hollyoaks? Well I'm not judging him in real life but he is the worst dressed member of the cast. JLS? Don't even get me started on those primary colours. Footballers? Gah! They do offer Ringspun clothing which I'm generally a fan of, but the jeans are a bit too garish for my liking. I'm one way or the other with how men dress, it's either an earthy-tone clad Diesel model or Noel Fielding. I can't have any of this in between nonsense. The dreaded Ed Hardy rears its head here - that awkward brand whose logo looks great on the backs of the leather and denim jackets of skinny indie types and retro pin-up chicks but generally dreadful on the jeans of... well, chavs. Swagger is hit and miss. It might be worth a visit for some unusual and interesting items, and sometimes you can encounter special offers like two pairs of jeans for £70, but so far it hasn't proved to be my cup of tea in a more general sense.

The service I received here was quite simply some of, if not the best, I've ever had from a…read moreretailer. They couldn't do more for me. Yes of course they're there to make a sale, but at no point did I feel any pressure to buy. Looking for a decent shirt for the wedding of friends of mine, after a quick measuring with tape and being presented with their 'tester shirts' (you don't try on the ones you'd buy, these are to find out which fitting suits you best) I was shown to their fitting rooms. After trying on a few and deciding on a style, it was over to the shelving and they brought down some options. I ended up with a lovely crisp shirt for just shy of £35. For the level of attention I received I was expecting it to cost three times that price. I left with a smile on my face and you know what? They've hooked me as a return customer now. I'll gladly spend my money where they treat customers with such regard.

Best place to get your white crisp cotton shirt. The quality for a £30 shirt is miles ahead of what Thomas Pink and other competitors are offering at north of £100. Many of their jackets are half/fully lined with functioning button holes which are very hard to find for the price they are charging in this day and age. The customer service is very friendly too!
