My experience with American Remodeling started at the Corvettes of Carlisle show where a…read moresalesperson gave me a flyer for discount. We had been talking about remodeling our main bathroom shower for years, and finally decided to pursue the job with this company. We thought "Bald Nick" as he called himself, was a fairly good salesperson, and so we signed a contract with the company thinking we were going to get a great product, a good construction crew (not subs but their own staff) and we would be thrilled with the outcome. Well, the crew was great and did a very professional job all the way through. But what we ordered and what we got are night and day, and we totally are disappointed with the end result. We talked about a white base for the shower, but then I told "B. Nick" that no we wanted it to match the beautiful colored walls that we chose. We needed to look at the fine print on the contract. And the crew worked with the door closed, bringing items in from the garage to the bathroom so we didn't see the white base until the walls were all installed. We ordered a rain drop glass shower door that would open wide like our previous door so at our ages we could be prepared for a shower chair and wheelchair access at the outside of the shower. No, they didn't tell us they didn't have it and the crew began to install a sliding clear glass door that would have been horrible. Luckily we caught that just after the installed the metal rails. They took the rails out, filled the holes so they could still be seen, and left after a conversation with the York office team. And the crew told us our door couldn't be ordered and we'd have to accept what they had. No way for a job that cost over $20,000!!! So the Corporate contact said yes the door could be ordered, and we would have it within a week. We have another shower to use so that was not an issue. But then the company had the crew drive almost 2 hours to go to Lowes, pick up a shower bar, shower curtain and clips to put in our shower for the week until the door appeared. Low and behold the door we got has the raindrop but it is not a wide door, but one on swivel hinges and extends almost a foot into the shower itself when it opens. Again, not what we were presented when "B. Nick" was selling us the product, not what we saw in his materials, and not what he guaranteed when he looked at our old shower set up that we would have in the new door. Another "bait and switch" contractor, another very disappointing experience. Do we like what we have now..... of course as it is an improvement. Do we love what we have now to give a five star rating to this company? Absolutely not. Beware and check every piece of materials you believe you have ordered before it gets installed. Again, our installer crew was fabulous. But it was not what we ordered, and not what we wanted in the end.

Attorney general has been contacted with a complaint previously and now will be updated with text threat. After being ignored by roofer to give us his insurance information (COI) which is required, the Attorney General has forwarded to us his insurance information. DO NOT use this guy. He is a fraud. asked for payments in increments when work wasn't finished & brought dog knowing we had our own dogs and only asked us if the dog could stay once the dog was already here (being animal lovers & feeling sorry for the poor dog we felt we had no other choice but to agree, he had that dog tied to his truck eight hours a day the entire week in our hot driveway) He lied and said I threatened him with a gun when in fact what happened was he showed up without telling us he was coming and my husband was not home. Next thing I hear my dogs going nuts& they take a ladder and go up on my roof... Don't even knock and tell me that they're here. I was alone and we live up a long driveway on top of the hill...My dogs were outside (a GSD and a Belgian Mal guard dogs) and he scared the crap out of me and the only thing I said was that he should not do that because I carry. I'm alone in my house. My husband is not home. They show up in my driveway where I'm far away from neighbors. My dogs are going crazy. If my dogs had attacked them, they probably would've tried to sue me. I was already ticked off because the guy was so rude to my husband. You should see the text this guy sent my husband and yes, I have it if anyone wants to see it... so by the time they showed up like this without telling me I was so angry and I would've been well within my right to get them off my property. Husband is an army veteran and a retired, disabled police officer and so yes, we have weapons and people showing up in my driveway when my Husband is not home is a pretty dangerous thing to do)...his friend said, "like as in a gun?" and I said yes, I carry a gun and they turned it around and said that I threatened him with my "smith n Wesson" which never happened the gun was actually in my house. I never even took it out with me when I confronted them in my driveway. I just told them that you don't show up at people's houses when the people carry any he totally lied and flipped the whole scenario (I have security cameras, which is clearly indicated on a sign in my driveway and so I have the entire incident on camera) He did not do the job properly, won't finish the job, said he wouldn't charge us for the rest of what we supposedly owed him (wanted 12 K for the entire job but used used materials and did not replace any insulation on our flat roof. Gave him 6K upfront then he asked for another 2K and then another 2K before any work had been completed and now wants another 2k to finish his mess of a joband then turned around and said that now we have to pay him if we want him to come finish, won't give us his insurance information and offers a roofers warranty, but doesn't have anything in writing concerning the warranty & the list goes oN. awful just an awful experience and an awful person. We had a Roofing consultant Tell us that the entire job was done wrong after we sent him pictures. it's a flat roof and this guy literally advertises rubber roofing. please email me at ketoKiki1@gmail.com if you want all the receipts... I have pics & I have screenshots, video from security cameras...I have pictures of the roof & foam that he left all over the ground for my dogs to eat. Do not use.
