The store has quite a bountiful inventory of Christmas items - anything you are looking for . When I inquired , I was told to try Michael's next door . I didn't go to TJ Maxx to be told to shop elsewhere . Our borough has 35,000 Jews . I am insulted as a Jew about this complete lack of representation in the store. Goodbye TJ Maxx . read more

Yesterday my wife and I took advantage of this store's (TJ Maxx, Bricktown Way S.I.) Tuesday & Thursday early senior hour. We are happy to be given this perk as we are elderly seniors worried about compromising our health by going inside a crowded store. We left our house early to get there by 9:00 am. I was in the men's section enjoying solitude when a young man, definitely not a senior, started hogging the section I was in and totally ignoring social distancing. When I asked the nearest salesperson behind the jewelry counter why this was the case, she replied that there is nothing they can do to keep the young people out during this designated hour. She even questioned me if I am sure that the young man was not a store employee. (At this point I knew she was not on our side). When I mentioned that Costco has managed to enforce this rule, she replied "we are not Costco". This came from a person who should be happy she still has a job during this pandemic. She should understand the point I am making that Costco is able to enforce their senior hour rule notwithstanding their store size and customer volume and not merely a promotional gimmick. This store's only redeeming factor was a nice lady in the food section who promised to bring this incident to the store manager's attention. If not for her, my wife and I are never shopping in this store again. I need not mention this condescending woman's name as she is not worth the recognition. The nice lady's name is Maria, who apologized profusely and made us promise to come back. Our suggestion: remove this senior hour announcement and just let everybody in at 9:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Of course we will renege on our promise to Maria if this happens. read more

Store was clean and well organized. I subtracted three whole stars for customer service. I entered the fitting room on two occasions, and different fitting room attendants were there each time. Each time, I greeted the attendant on duty, told her how many items I was bringing in, and received a numbered tag - all without eye contact, greeting, or anything but the barest minimum of service. I was preparing to check out later and heard over the loudspeaker the announcement that the store would be closing in 30 minutes, so please "come to the registers for quick and courteous service." When it was my turn, the three employees behind the counter were carrying on a spirited conversation. My cashier did not make eye contact, greet me in any way even after I said hi, or even pause the conversation with her coworkers to give me the courteous service that had been promised. Courteous service includes greetings, eye contact, evaluating the customer's shopping experience with a quick "Find everything okay?" or something similar, and some sort of goodbye. I have worked in retail and I work in public service now, dealing with people at a checkout desk all day, every day. As an employee, you have to make the company look good by providing excellent service. The rudeness with which I was treated reflects poorly on the employee training program, customer service policies, and corporate image of TJ Maxx. You got my money this time, but if you can't treat me like a valued customer, at least treat me like a human being. I will not be returning. read more

When I have to do a return I dread going to this store every time it's always an issue I feel like the customer is never right!!! The managers are nasty and the other day they said that they have to "write my name on the gift card" while I was making a purchase and said that "only I can use the gift card and no one else and they have to ID me every time I make a purchase. (which already makes the front end process even slower than it already is.) what if I changed my mind and wanted to give it to my friend or mother as a gift to use. I've never seen any other TJ Maxx's or it's sister stores on the island that do this it makes no sense. Someone needs to evaluate this company and their workers. read more

Nice store. It is clean & has a nice selection of clothing. Parking is not a problem as many other stores in this mini-mall have not yet opened. Staff was helpful. The store was not at all crowded but that could be due to the newness factor. read more

Love the set up and variety of name brands, not to thrilled with the customer service at front. Cashiers that are working the register are great, the problem is the lack of service when there is a line and only one cashier on register and tons of employees buzzing around and doing their best to ignore the customers on line. Have walked out multiple times, will give it a few more chances, but this has happened to me the last two times I was there which was within weeks of each other. read more
