This is my favorite TJ Maxx on Staten Island, I find that it has the best selection of clothes! Like all other locations, you have to be in the mood to dig through the racks and find some gems but they're definitely there! Great brands as well, I always find Calvin Klein shirts for work here! Probably one of the worst TjMaxx's out there. Nobody wants to do their job. When I'm spending well over $300; let my toddler use the bathroom! Don't tell me it's out of order, after I literally used it five minutes before she had to go. Then my mother came to me and said she needed to leave to find a bathroom because they were out of order. Let me explain why they are "out of order" : Because it's a keypad that they don't share the code to. So they have to walk ALL the way to the back of the store to punch in the code to allow you access. If you don't want to work, don't work. They all looked miserable. It was an OK Tj Maxx i mean for NYC standard. It is def much better than the one on 86st Bay Ridge. Selection was alright, i actually got two pair of shoes. Now service? Yahh fugged about it. Bf and i were standing by the jewelry section but the sales guy didn't even acknowledge our presence till 15 mins later. Baaaaaa. ever been to Marshall's? well, it's the exact duplicate of the place except their selections are major "meh".... like boring, bland, and... like i mentioned- baaaaaa. lol. nothing in there screams "great". it's all mediocre to me. their prices aren't that much different than NY&CO in the same strip mall- so i'd skip over to Telco, Rainbow, Gap, and NY&CO nearby. blah to this chain. i mean, it's not HORRIBLE... get bedding, pillows, socks, and some granny panties... but don't expect a great selection on clothing. maybe if you're a mommy on a budget and looking for fits for the the fam-bam- but like i mentioned, go to Telco instead. save you lots of money and better value. read more

The cashiers are way to slow. There's never any sales associates to assist you. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired..

Decent service, some cute knick knacks and clothing. Nothing extraordinary, but decent nonetheless.

A fairly alright store. I've bought a number of reasonably nice and durable products from here over the years. I can usually rely on one or two pleasant surprises when I come here too. read more

I have to agree with the other reviewers. One thing about this store is that it is very disorganized, but I think that has more to do with the people who live in Staten Island and less with the store. I regularly see people just throwing things from the rack onto the floor or into a pile somewhere. It's weird actually. I've been to other TJ Maxx stores in New Jersey and it's nothing like that. I don't fault the staff they would have to assign someone to every shopper to clean up after them. You do have to go in with a hunt and peck attitude to find something. read more

This store is Worst than Forest AVE SI. The selections are extremely limited and poor to say the least. The close on the racks were jumbled and a mess. I wanted to scream...What is happening? Are the TJMaxx stores closing . Very disappointed! read more

Purchased a pair of pajamas from Annie Sez and the woman had left the security tag on them. I went back with my receipt when they were closing to try to have it removed and the workers were very nasty and refused to help me for what 5 seconds? So I went over to TJMaxx and begged them to remove it for me. They did it with no hesitation. They were so nice! Will NOT be going back to ANNIE SEZ.... THANK YOU NICE PEOPLE OF TJMAXX!! read more

This store is like an indoor yard sale! I don't know what's worse, the trash they sell or the shady people that shop there. All walks of life come roaming into the store or hang out outside of it. This store is so unorganized and everything is thrown around. Yes, the prices are cheap, but that's even if you find what you're looking for. This place gives me anxiety. It's like standing in the street waving a cab down, or trying to hand flyers out to ppl walking seriously you have to stalk down an employee for help. The lines are ridiculously long, everything is scattered, nothing is in its right size order. It's like a huge flee market of junk. read more

I do particularly like all of the TJ Maxx/Home Goods/Marshall's conglomerate. However, this TJ Maxx doesn't live up to the new one on 86th St. in any way, shape, or form. It's much smaller, and it just seems like they don't have that much stuff. The men's section is particularly scanty, and there's only one table, pretty much, with decor/food/beauty products. It's mostly women's clothing, but I went there looking for a career-oriented blazer, and I did not find one. Neither did I find anything else that I needed to take home with me. Always feel lightheaded from the extreme lighting in the store but there are some great finds in the store

Horrible Customer Service at this location. I purchased a defective pan; the non stick peeled off on the very first use even with teflon-safe utensils. Tried returning it to my local Marshall's, but told nope. Has to be a TJ. Finally make the schlepp there and the manager would not take it back, saying it was used and I had to contact the manufacturer. Fortunately, after the all that, I took a deep breath and called Corporate and they worked with me. But not worth the aggravation. Just be sure if you buy it, they you are going to keep it cause this store makes it impossible to return. read more

Big store with cheap prices. I came to buy some sportswear and they offered big brands like Nike and Reebok for half the retail price. Plenty of great selections without breaking your wallet. read more

The store can be messy at times but if you search through the isles you will find some great deals. And don't let the long lines intimidate you because they have many cash registers and you will be out of there in no time! read more

It's been awhile since I've been to TJ Maxx at Hylan location in Staten Island, NY. I used to go there weekly but like many reviewers, I find this store not worthwhile to shop anymore. Occasionally, I passed by when I'm at Boston Market Resto just to see if anything has changed. Absolutely nothing, especially their cashiers! They are the slowest and most are rude especially Concette (I believe that's her name). She's the most obnoxious! I've been a cashier at Macys and we were trained to respect our customers. But this one, forget about it! I'm going to travel to Burlington Coat Factory at South Avenue where I find better brands, better prices, better selections. The cashiers have always have a smile on their faces when they ring you up, and they're helpful as well. Goodbye for good to TJ Maxx! read more

Although it can take a bit of digging sometimes, TJ Maxx has some really great finds. If you can deal with some of the apathetic and obnoxious clientele that seems to be flooding this area of SI lately, it's definitely worth a look. read more
