You've got to know what you are there for! It's a scavenger hunt! I've picked up some great things and made some great buys at Ollie's. True some of their prices on things aren't as low as you might expect but just pass those by if they don't appeal to you, or if you feel they are too expensive but just a few of the things that I have picked up recently are books for the price of three and four dollars when they're still being sold for 20 and $24 on Amazon, a really nice bathtub length bath rug for $15 that sells in the stores for 35 or 40, and my best grab recently was a pair of Betsey Johnson sunglasses that I snagged for $3! Don't count Ollie's out just because you didn't find a good buy, they are there you just have to hunt for them and that's part of the fun. I'll be going back there soon because I love their book section and if I have any question about the book I just Google it while I'm in the store and find out what the current price is at other locations, and nine times out of 10 Ollie's price is better than most. They also have some great children's books and I'm a firm believer that more people need to read to their kids so go pick up a couple of two dollar books and read your kid a bedtime story tonight. Oh another item that I got that was a great buy, was a water meter for my potted plants it's the exact same thing that sells for $9.99 elsewhere and I got it for .99 cents, then after making sure it worked properly went back and bought six more. My plants are very happy with me right now. Ollie's also has a variety of canned goods that are priced very reasonably rather than what the grocery stores are charging so I always go there first before I hit the grocery store to see if anything on my list is available there. You've got to learn how to work it and have an open mind. Now get up off your arse, sieze the day and go buy that book to read to your kid tonight!

Walking into 1/2 of 1/2 and eyeing a $48 blouse marked down to $12 and further marked down to $6 was just unbelieveable. This is what outlet shopping WAS. Remember? Before garments were made for outlet retail. The Good: Oooh. When it's good, it's so very good. Scoring a CK linen skirt for $14, bliss. Knowing that more stock will arrive every week and the fully marked items will be discounted a further 1/2 off... pure temptation. The knowing gleam in the sweetly helpful shop ladies' eyes. So hooked. The Bad: It's discounted for a reason so diligently inspect. Me, I'm handy with a sewing machine so a lot of problems aren't biggies. Many of the knits have runs and pulls. Zippers are pesky. Darts misaligned. Lots of etcs... And the shoes have all obviously been worn. But don't lose heart! There are gems here. You just have to look, which is another "bad" - it can be overwhelming. Really overwhelming. Pace yourself. NOTE: Finding this place can be just as hard as finding a perfect D&G slipdress. Look for the garish yellow and black neon sign near the Kings Chinese Buffet.

The dog ran up to us, and we asked the owner to get a hold of the leash. After speaking with the Mall GM, Vince who referenced ADA, I realized we might need to find another place to walk. The toy collection is insanely fun and super well-curated. I saw everything from original Star Wars figures to Matchbox cars and He-Man. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the collections. You can tell a lot of love went into this place. New pieces are added as they are found "in the wild" or donated by collectors and families of collectors that have passed. They even have some duplicate/overflow items available to purchase in a little gift shop area. Tickets are a little pricy, but proceeds are used to maintain the museum, as well as a variety of community events.
