The answers I received were inconsistent--different staff gave different information. As a result, I either went home empty-handed or arrived too late to buy only the leftovers. When I finally purchased 12 pullets, I specifically asked if I could choose them myself to ensure I was getting hens. The staff refused and said, "You're buying pullets; we wouldn't sell roosters as hens. If everyone chose this way, how could we continue our business?" I trusted this assurance. However, as soon as I placed the chicks in my car, I noticed two yellow chicks looked listless, with dull eyes, and were dozing off. I immediately suspected they were sick. I went back to the store to request a replacement but was refused. The staff insisted all sales were final and claimed "chicks tend to sleep"--again, I trusted them. Back home, the two chicks developed diarrhea. Despite my efforts to treat them, one died in the second week and the other in the third week. This was heartbreaking. Worse still, in the fourth month, one of the Orpington "pullets" started crowing--it was a rooster. Because my HOA prohibits roosters, I had to give it away. Soon after, the other Orpington, which had always been unusually large, also began crowing. I had to give that one away too. Out of the five Orpington pullets I purchased, only left one . This entire experience has been extremely disappointing--from the inconsistent information, refusal to allow selection, to selling sick chicks and misrepresenting roosters as pullets. I have lost time, money, and the joy I had hoped for in raising healthy hens. I have no confidence in your service quality or business ethics, and I will not recommend your store to others.
