Outfits for every season and occasion, hats (oh, the hats...)... so many lovely and beautiful, fun, and (it pains me to say this) somewhat unnecessary things. I really hate to have prices highly influence my reviews, but in this economy especially, no one has superfluous funds to be spending, for example, $30 on a (albeit... ADORABLE!) crochet hat, for an infant. Or $75 on a knitted/crochet sweater. I love the things in this shop, and if I had a money tree in my backyard, I would shop here daily. But as a new Mom myself, I know how fast our little divas grow out of everything, but how fun it is to shop for special little treats in cool places like this. Great fun for a baby-splurge shopping outing, or for a fun look around. (Torture for me, I want everything!) I think there's definitely some room to lower their overall price point. I'll make periodic trips in to Olivia Rose's, JUST to keep my fellow South Shore Mama Yelpers updated... (and probably buy that silly sweater!!)

I saw Luca Boutique and a product they had that I was very interested in advertised a local listing…read moresite. So I emailed the owner before I made my one hour trip to Warren, RI for a stroller. I confirmed her hours and that she still had it the day before. I did leave out that I was driving an hour, didn't think that info was needed. I arrived to a beautifully decorated store, I have to say it's really nice inside and looks very upscale. I checked some of the clothing out and prices, everything was in pretty good condition but a little over priced for my taste on used clothing. I then approached the owner about the stroller I had emailed her about and she was like "Oh the Quinny, yeah, I was just about to give that back to the owner. It won't fold and I can't sell it like that". So you couldn't just shoot me an email and save me the trip; I mean seriously, that's the right thing to do. I guess that common courtesy never occurred to her. The stroller wouldn't fold, we didn't know if it was broken or she just didn't know how to fold it. The stroller itself was in really raggedy condition anyway. She did mention on more than one occasion that it had been there since January when she opened, wasn't selling, and that the owner just told her to sell it for whatever you can get for it. We offered her $75 less than what she was asking for a four year old beat up, stained up, stroller with a chipped up and banged up frame that wouldn't fold. She refused and said that she needed to talk to the owner fist. Either way, pending what the owner said, she said she would meet me half way into my trip to deliver it. This was before she found out I was an hour away. She did email me a day later and tell me the owner came in and folded it up no problem so it was all good. She never did offer to drive it thirty minutes one way like she originally said. I've since found one in much better condition for just about the same price. Luca boutique is over priced, even their uppababy stroller was over what the going used rate is. Maybe because the store looks fancy the owner believes it's ok to overprice used items. The owner doesn't know what she is doing and is clearly new in this business. I sadly don't recommend Luca boutique.

Groovy Gator is an adorable children's boutique that offers great value. After he was born I ordered a towel w/ sailboats and his name on it. I ended up calling to order it rather than going through the site because I don't like PayPal, which they use. It's a long story. Don't ask. The woman I spoke to was friendly and warm. She was a little apologetic that it would take maybe three weeks, I told her not to worry about it, that I'd waited this long to contact her and could wait a little longer. We agreed the baby wouldn't know the difference. The towel arrived while we were in KC and I opened it last night when we got home. It is a gorgeous blue, soft and beautifully crafted. I just love it and so will Mommy and Baby, I think. Enclosed was a sweet note w/ another apology for the wait and a coupon for a discount on my next order. Well, I have a little great niece who will be turning 2 this summer and could use a towel w/ her name on it. I look forward to choosing the color and design. This will not be my last purchase here. I think the prices are extremely reasonable and the website gives you a good sense of her products, which Jennifer lists in more detail in her review.

Great prices and constantly refreshed inventory! What a gem!…read more This is probably my most visited clothing shop since our temporary move to South County RI! The plethora of high quality (several still with their original tags) children's clothes, shoes, and toys is spectacular. You will not find prices cheaper than these. She keeps the place very organized and has sales on top of her already well-priced items. Each time I visit, perhaps once a month to get clothes for my 3.5 year old and more so for my now 1 year old, I find I leave with way more than I anticipated! $40 will get me sometimes 10 items! I especially love that she has a $2 off coupon on her receipt to be used within a few weeks I believe. The owner, Nathalie, is so warm and kind. She has an adorable kitten (Miley?) that keeps her company at the shop. I've enjoyed exchanging stories with her. What a wonderful community she has cultivated too! (Didn't realize I had already written a review on this place 2 months ago. Guess it just goes to show how much I love this place!)

They have special occasion dresses for a baptism or first communion. Their casual dresses and outfits are adorable, however the cost is a bit high considering these are for the growing child. Personally, I think a $75 casual summer dress for a five year old, isn't the most consumer friendly purchase. Maybe your child's special birthday dress, could come from The Blue Horse. Additionally they also sell children's books and licensed stuffed animals. The Blue Horse is located in Downtown Mystic.

But then again, if you want a high-quality dress, sweater, outfit, etc., you get what you pay for. We bought a lovely dress that we can use for a family photo session, and maybe a celebratory dinner or event. They also have christening items, stuffed animals, and items like umbrellas and books.
