I had a large settlement check and was trying to access some funds against so I went to the Chase branch where the issuers account was established. Not only would Chase bank not assist me with opening an account of any kind to deposit the check, the manager was dismissive and insulting asking me where I got the check and questioning legitimacy. That is when I called Check City on West Tropicana and asked Indica if she could assist me in anyway. Indica went out of her way to help me out of a frustrating situation. She honestly went above and beyond what I expected from any employee these days. Most importantly, she listened to my whole situation, then went into action, calling her supervisors and finding a solution to assist me. In the end, she was able to get approval to not only cash my check, but also was able to get me a reduced check cashing fee which saved me literally hundreds of dollars. While other places would not even listen to my request after they heard the amount of the check, Indica at this branch was a freaking rockstar and found a solution. With their credit in shambles and having just a little bit to get by to get their head above water, my friend did his research and resorted to the dreaded of all loan types - a car title loan. Collateral based loans can be tricky. Having worked in the financial industry for the latter part of my career, when my friend told me about it, I cringed. But I promised to help as best as I could by lending what financial wherewithal I could give. Of all the car title loans that we could scour the internet, one came up consistently on top with its reviews and reputation. I accompanied my friend and we were greeted by Maggie. She did a quick evaluation of my friend's vehicle (paid off and luxury model) and was able to secure a loan in excess of $5k. Here's the kicker - the interest rate was only 9%. In Las Vegas.
