I'm always greeted by people and always am asked if I need any help. I feel like gun stores in general have the friendliest staff always willing to help and answer any questions. There is so much to know and so many options! I used to work at a tactical gear company, so I know there's a lot! We were able to take a closer look at some things and they were very knowledgeable. It has now been 20 days since the order was paid and processed...a label was created 10 days later...that is where it has sat since, UPS has not received the package (shipping billed at $33.90), I have reached out to them after 17 days and was told: "They are working through them as quickly as possible. I was advised it will ship by the end of the week." I checked, today being the end of the business week...UPS has not received the package. This happened with my previous purchase, it ended up taking 1.5 months. I thought that I would give them another shot, since it has been a year, yet same crap, different day. Avoid this place like the Plague, if it were free shipping, I'd cut them them some slack...but paying that much to have crap service...not acceptable. CS doesn't even offer apologies or anything, I'm sure that she (or AI) is tired of taking the anger of all of the unhappy customers, with no real explanations to offer. Do yourself a huge favor- select ANYONE else, the customer service and lack of stress in trying to get your order in your hands is WELL WORTH IT!

This is a very, very nice scatter gun range - based solely on amenities, it's nicer than all the…read moreranges I've been to in the Chicago area. I've been several times, and this review pretty much holds true for every visit. First off, they have 8 trap/skeet fields. All the fields appear to be usable for both trap and for skeet, although I doubt they have all three required launchers in place at each station at all times. We are always told which are set up for which. All the fields are well maintained, with voice activated throwers. Almost never a broken bird, although the flight trajectory on field 8 is a little flat - I feel like I'm shooting right at the house half the time, which I'm sure is frowned on. It's interesting to note that there is NEVER any kind of wait, and nor is there ever any formal trap. They just tell you to go out on a field and have fun. They track birds thrown with a little electronic counter box, which I've only seen at this location...it seems a bit unreliable, or maybe I'm just dumb. But I think it manages to overcharge me every time. Oh well. I think there are two more 5-stand fields, but I've never seen them in operation. Their clays course is very nice - 12 stations. All have two launchers, so you can choose a (sometimes extraordinarily difficult) true pair or report pair on each station - never just two birds from the same launcher. Difficulty was medium. I recently shot near my personal best, percentage wise, so I'm not going to say it was hard. One highlight is a scaffold shooting platform - it's fun to shoot down on the birds instead of up at them. And there was a single rabbit, for variety, but no mini or midi clays that I saw. The entire course is in the open, kind of brushy fields, some shaded by woods, but no stations under cover of trees. There's a paintball range just behind (up range) of parts of the clays course, and it's hard not feel super awesome when you consider those kids aren't even using live ammo, and they think they're cool. The reason I only have 4 stars marked here is because the staff are kind of jerks. I'm pretty understanding of you being nervous with random people showing up and discharging firearms on your property. But there's no need to be a total jerk to me - if I do something unsafe, then by all means, come down on me and correct the unsafe behavior. But the hostile attitude we always get the moment we walk in the door is a bit uncalled for. Even trying to strike up conversation with the range master got us clipped, smart-alec responses...I guess if he wants people to dislike him, he's getting his wish. I've been several times, and it's always the same. But, if you can ignore the staff (well, not ignore...just don't take them personally, or expect any friendliness) then this is a spectacular range.

The Gypsy Caravan comes every Memorial day and they always change the location from UMSL to SLU...just stay on top of things or watch Channel 5 and you'll know where it is...seriously, that's how I always find it. Basically, this is nothing more than a gigantic garage sale/flea market and it's all for the benefit of the St. Louis Symphony's Educational Programs. Guilt free shopping is my favorite kind of shopping. This is the kind of place that you can spend all day digging through old junk to maybe or maybe not come up with a great treasure. There's everything from jewelry to paintings to just plain garbage that you have no idea what it might be at this place. The stuff is pretty cheap, though some of it is overpriced for what it is. This is no different than any other flea market but seriously, it only comes once a year and therefore, is a pretty amazing stop in if you are looking for something to do other than heading to a pool on Memorial Day. I may be a little late (or early) in the year to be talking about this, but I have such cherished memories of heading to this thing every year that I can't say enough good things about it. Seriously, what a place...and what people that go.

They open for two 3 hour chunks during the day. They are closed in the middle of the day. During the closed time they are restocking the bins and making sure there is inventory on the floor. If you arrive right at opening time it's literally like a Black Friday stampede and mad dash for a cart. SCARY! To prevent this you can arrive early and stand in line hoping to get a cart OR come an hour after opening time and walk right in and get a cart. This is an outlet of your standard Goodwill store, which means super low prices and leftover stuff. IE: lots of resellers, online sellers and thrift store buyers are here trying to get the best deal they can to resell this stuff to you somewhere else. You will notice this right away with people that have 3 carts filled to the brim of good stuff. I'm not that serious about it. I'm shopping for personal use looking for items I can wear or use, sometimes gift. I don't mind being there super early. I find it kind of stressful actually. I like to come an hour or so in when people are already leaving and there are empty carts and I can shop slowly without others rushing me. The downfall here is "the good stuff" might already be gone. Maybe... but I've found really good deals here like" lululemon leggings, athleta leggings, entire dish sets, containers for cookie baking season, so many name brand clothes - some new with tags on, books and shoes. Almost everything I buy is still new with tags or in like new condition. AND WORTH every cent I spend on it. The bins with the items can be very scary. There can be sharp things sticking out, glass, etc. in them. They are stacked high and awkwardly. Items are literally thrown into the bin and just pushed to the floor. Prepare yourself mentally for this (it can be a lot). I recommend you bring and wear gloves. Be careful as you move stuff around in the bins because the whole thing shifts. After digging in once or twice it gets less scary. Be aware that there are no returns and you will be RUSHED through checking out. Step to the side when you have your items and make sure they are what you and in the condition you want. I check every page of books to make sure no pages are missing/ no one colored in it, etc and all my clothing for holes, stains, rips, tears. Overall this is a 5 star experience for me. I buy goods worth hundreds of dollars for 10% of that price. I usually keep a list on hand of wants/needs and don't rush on finding it. So I'm a casual shopper here.

When I picked up the gun, they charged me $35 above the "Total Cost" listed on the Gun Genie website. The website "Total Cost" INCLUDED a "FEE" of $29.99 (which is above the "Taxes" listed). I have ordered 5 guns through Davidson's in the past and, in all cases, I paid the exact amount listed as "Total Cost". Well, NOT IN THIS TRANSACTION! I called K.O., spoke with "John" and mentioned the $35 discrepency and also told him he had written "Owes $267.16" on the end of the box. His employee said I owed $302.16 and I questioed her. She said it was "an additional Fee" and I said "a Fee was already included in the Gun Genie listing". I called Davidson's and they said they would call K.O. and discuss the discrepency. I called John later to see when I would get that extra $35 Fee back and he said "No Way! That's how I make my living. I called Davidson's back and they stated that I was correct and should NOT have been charged that extra $35. They are cutting me a check for that amount and also informed me that Kirkwood Outfitters has been removed from Davidson's Gun Genie account as a participant.
