PADDING, INCOMPETANT or DELIBERATE and a LIE I recently went to Tires Plus on E. Bay Dr. in Largo,Fl. with a specific list of what I wanted fixed. Instead of my request they did a "Complete Vehicle Inspection" that I did not ask for, Padding the bill $49 without turning a wrench. After I decided what to allow them to repair, the mechanic or someone disconnected a one bolt of a sway bar link and left it hanging under the vehicle. Was it INCOMPETANCE or DELIBERATE? Either way, deceiving and lying to customers is not an enduring business practice. When I returned to the shop, to get the part reconnected the man behind the counter said it can't be connected because it's broken. That was a BOLD-FACED LIE. I drove home and loosened the other half of the unit. I cleaned it , greased and remounted it. It was NOT BROKEN. I had a slow leak in my tire and stopped in without an appointment. Justin looked at the days schedule and fit me in and told me to come back in 2 hours. He came out and checked the air in the tires. I returned and was taken right away. I had 2 very small screws in one tire which caused the slow leak. He was so friendly and professional. I explained the competition down the street had left grease marks all over my new care last year so I would never go back there. When my car was done, he said if I find any grease marks to see him personally. Needless to say my car was just as clean as when I brought it there. read more

so I had appt to have 4 new tires put on my car mind you $1600.00 later. driving done the road tire light came on telling me I had a low tire bring the car back and tire grommet not even put on properly so obviously they rushed to do the tires to the point not even put on properly I would definitely not recommend this place if you need work done on your car. Oh and front driver tire filled 6 pounds over. Rear driver tire under filled by 3 pounds not one tire was filled properly definitively not a good place to spend your money. read more

My family and I have taken our cars to this Tires Plus for years, but the service now is not what it used to be. My car was stalling at stop lights and the engine was shutting off. It took them an entire day to even get to looking at my car. They claimed they couldn't "replicate the problem" and said there's nothing wrong with my car. They didn't seem to take me seriously at all. Lo and behold, it stalled in the middle of the road four times the next day. I took it to another mechanic who immediately diagnosed the problem as being a loose purge valve and they fixed it. I don't recommend them and won't be taking my car back to them again after years of being a loyal customer. read more

Do not use this tire shop for anything. I bought my tires online. Had them shipped here for installing. I requested they reverse dismount and mount the new tires to protect the wrap on my rims. They destroyed all 4 rims. 2 days later, while examining my rims I found a brake pad sensor wire was broken off. By them since they just did the tires. I asked them to inspect all my brakes and all my shocks. They said all are fine. Less than a week later, my brake sensors have gone on indicating major problem with them. They did not inspect anything thoroughly as you would expect. Never go here again. read more

We had an appt to have tires put on our truck. We had the tires shipped directly to Tires Plus & made an appt. We showed up to our appt only to be told that they didn't have the tires. Ok, I get it. No biggie. We bring it back the next day (after we confirmed delivery of the tires) only one to be told that the "centric ring" needed replaced & they couldn't get the part until October. I promptly ordered it on Amazon & took it to Tires Plus the next day. They then had my vehicle for 2 more days. Again, I get it. They have other appts & this part thing put us behind. After myself & my husband both asked for an alignment to be done, I pick it up only to be told no alignment was done because it wasn't on the work order. Again, probably just a communication error. Not a huge deal. After we get home with our truck my 17 year old daughter points out that the tire tread is directional & 2 of the tires are put on the wrong way. Seriously?!? A 17 year old girl pointed this out. Come on guys.... But the cherry on top of the sundae was when we called to tell them about the error they said it was because "the tires weren't bought from us". What??? Then he told us to bring it back up & they'd try to fit us in. Oh and "no charge" was the last thing he said. Were we suppose to be grateful for them not charging us for correcting their error? Luckily we have a friend with a lift & he corrected the issue. Went in for shaking and road noise. I said I really only want to get the road noise and anything that could be dangerous fixed, so go easy on the estimate. They told me that both front wheel bearings had to be replaced. Fair enough. Then they tack on 4 new tires, because why not? The treads are fine on all of them but 1, which was split. $550 job? I feel really sorry for elderly people who get told they need brand new tires when they don't. So I believe it was the 2 wheel bearings, a rear shock, sway bars, an engine diagnostic (only bc the light was on.. They put that as a charge line on the estimate instead of just taking an extra 2 min to hook it up to the computer for me), 4 new tires.... $2200 total estimate. Yeah, right. They showed me one tire was split. I suspected this was the sole cause of the shaking, and it was. Went across the street to Bob's Discount Tire and they sold me a used (like new) tire and installed and balanced it for $28. Go to Bob's. read more

Went here for a slow leak in a tire. 1.5 hrs later, Of course they said I need a new tire. Of course. I have two screws in it and one is too close to the sidewalk to be repaired I also noticed they had my hood up. There's no reason to be looking around in my engine bay when they need to fix a rear tire. So I tell them to put the tire back on and I'm going somewhere else. I go to this place near 82nd ave and 49th st, and they pull the screw next to the sidewall. It doesn't leak at all and never did. They patched up the other screw. In and out in 45 minutes and a $20 charge. Tires Plus is a joke and I will never go there again. read more

Don't go here. I went in here because of 1 tire and rim. They said to fix it would cost $2,000. I said no and asked for a print out of everything that would cost that much. They included break pads? I knew I would be short on time, so I made an appointment. They finally took my vehicle in 20 minuets after my appointment time. How long do you think it would take to replace two tires...about 30 minuets is reasonable. It took them 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUETS. I watched the technician move like a zombi, and at one point, nobody touched my vehicle for at least 40 minuets. I brought this to the manager's attention and he could care less. All he said was...sorry. But here is the worst. I called the regional director. His wife answered the phone saying that he would call me back. I then left another message several hours later. Excellent service. I had a 2pm appointment. They were very very busy today (Sat 9/3), but were still able to get me in and out quickly and efficiently. The best part is that there was no charge for the service. I had a flat, which turns out had no damage. They took my spare off, replaced the tire, and also put my spare back under my SUV. In addition to that, they rotated, double-checked and filled all tires. I called Goodyear and was given a quote of $50-60 for the same service. My tire was leaking air for a month or two... kept stopping at wawa to put air in every week.. super annoyed. So I decided to take the car in, they called me and said I have a nail in it and offered to patch it for me. They did tell me though that my tire is lacking threads and will need new tire soon especially when the rainy season comes. Thank you for being so honest! I took my car here for repairs for years, but it always seemed like I would take the car in for one thing, and they would ALWAYS find another thing that needed to be repaired, often doubling the cost to me. My mother also took her car here, and experienced the same things. Then one time I took the car in just to have the tires rotated. While they had the car on the lift, I saw the mechanic spraying something on the rear tire. A few minutes later, they called me into the garage to show me that the tire had "brake fluid" all over the inside wall of the tire, which meant I needed all new brakes. The service advisor was trying to rip him off by recommending an air filter, evacuate a/c with a recharge, replace cooling system hoses, flush coolant system and shocks and struts. I just didn't know where to take it so I looked up places close-by to me online and decided Tires Plus did just about everything that I would need. The location at Seminole/Walsingham Road in front of Winn-Dixie in Seminole, Fl is the location I used, but I'm sure they are good elsewhere also. They were very professional and checked my car out thoroughly and gave me recommendations of what was needed to get it back into good running shape. They were quick and efficient and I had them do my back brakes one week and tune-up, oil change, fuel filter change, wiper blades, the works the next week.
