Came here for a wheel alignment appointment and wasn't disappointed. They had my car done within an hour and were able to get the rear back into specs. Super responsive on yelp quote wise and easy in and out service. Prices are fairly standard for the industry so can't really go wrong since, again, pretty fast service when you're comparing against chain-store mechanics/dealerships(even when taking into account having an appointment) Only bad thing to note would probably be the super small parking lot(probably less than a dozen spots). Almost didn't have parking when I arrived. But as long as it's a weekday should probably be okay. read more

Needed 35x12.5R17 BFG mounted and balanced on my new wheels. I called several places and they were not able to do it or would charge me a ridiculous amount for the TPMS. I had 5 wheels needed to be done as soon as possible because I planned on getting my Jeep lifted in a few days. After shopping around they were the most reasonable price I could find. I called at 10 Am and asked them when was the soonest I could get the tires done. I told them I had work at 2 and was closing so I asked if its ok if I was able to pick it up tomorrow. They told me if I can make it within the hour they will have it ready for me before work. Loaded my truck with 5 wheels and tire and got there at 1030. As I was walking out of PepBoy's after they told me it would be 3-4 hours until they can start working on my car even though I had an appointment scheduled, I saw Tire Time across the street. I called Tire Time and they were able to offer me a 12pm appointment slot. They greeted me as soon as I walked in, got my car up on the rack within 15 minutes, and completed the alignment service within an hour. Since my car is lowered, they made sure to place an extra metal board on the ramp part of the rack to prevent my car from scratching the rack as they drove my car on and off the rack. The gentleman at the desk (I believe his name was Mark) was very honest to me, and told me that my car still has somewhat of a "negative camber" since I only changed the springs and didn't change anything else with my suspension. Also, a customer who was there before me took her car in due to an oil leak. While the mechanics were working on her car, they noticed that she had a nail in one of her tires so they fixed/repaired it free of charge without asking her. I can see why a lot of recent reviews complain about the staff. Here is the good part of my experience : I went there with a flat tire with no spare. Staff took a quick look and recommended replacing the tire instead of fixing it. Tire was very bald. They didn't have a replacement tire so they inflated my flat tire and called a nearby shop to ensure they have a good tire that I can buy at reasonable cost. That worked alright for me. Now the not so good part : the staff was harsh. I work with people a lot. I have seen people who are straight talkers. Straight talkers are often misunderstood as rude. Often people who work in service sector (plumbers, electricians, mechanics etc) don't have a lot of time to be nice. Time is money for them. But in this case, there was no need to be harsh. But the staff was harsh. Like while giving the address of the place where I could pick up a new tire, the staff repeated aggressively "take the phone and start typing" three times in a row. I was like "what the heck!" I am a quick person. There was no need to be like that while actually doing a good deed. The place missed a 5-star review simply because the staff wasn't professional in their behavior. Note to owner: train your staff to be straight, but professional. It's easy to do so. The staff can adjust the attitude significantly and you can get more 5-star reviews. read more

And they checked my brakes as well. As I was waiting in the customer waiting area, there were a lot of repeat customers who came back for more service. I reckon they were "frequent fliers" because they call them by first names. Although whoever backed out my car from the service bay was wearing dirty gloves and left black smudges on my white car driver's door. So he said if you want to wait and see if they show up. So I did. At 420 he came to me and said that the didn't show up but it would take a long time and they would be able to do it before they close at 430. They are very rude and refused to give me an oil change when nobody else was here. Can't say anything but good things about this place. I do a lot of my own mechanical work. I've rebuilt classic cars, done LS swaps, rebuilt suspensions, replaced motors and transmissions, and lots of other miscellaneous stuff. So I feel I like a have a pretty good handle on the amount of actual hours and price of parts. Mark and his crew are spot on and predictable. If it's going to take more hours, there's a reason that makes sense. If I take a project to them, I know it's in good hands. I don't trust very many mechanics but these guys are solid. read more

This repair shop is AWESOME!!!!!!! A friend referred me for my 2016 Yukon XLT. I needed some new tires. Upon inspecting they determined that I should get new brakes and drums. I knew I needed them so I had them do that as well. The price was right in line with other quotes I received but here is where I was blown away!! They told me what was most important to have done first and they took me on the same day! They got me in and out and on my way. Everyone at the shop is great. How they can do that type of grueling work with a smile and still have amazing customer service and interaction is beyond me! I call it "old school service." You know, back in the day when people actually cared about their clients. I have been back to them for any and everything that I need with my cars. You can trust these guys. First let me let you guys know that I been here a few times but never did I incounter the new staff. First off the guy ant the front desk was beyond the worst experience I've ever incounter. When I asked a few details about what might be the problem with my vehicle he said I don't have time for this. Your not going to purchase anything I can see it in your body language when I didn't even make any gestures, definitely he is a addict of some kind. Has a chipped tooth or wrotten. I asked about his manager or supervisor number and said he was the supervisor. I asked and employee and he acted the same way he did. It's the worst experience I've ever had period. Please don't go to this shop it's by far the worst. The guy is new I've never seen him here he looked aggressive and ignorant. There's just no getting no were with this people. My husband and I have taken out cars to Tire Time a hand full of times and have had a great experience. Great customer service, reasonable pricing, overall a 5 star experience. I went in by myself for a tire rotation which was free because I previously purchased my tires there. I am going on a road trip and asked him to have the guys take a look and let me know how my tires looks. Ps. I have never seen the guy at the front desk before. It had been about a year or two since I was in there last. After they were done rotating my tires. He said I needed 4 new rotors and my brake pads were worn to 1mm. That the danger zone is 3mm and I was way past that and in the EXTREME danger zone with my brakes and he wouldn't recommend to even drive around town like that. He stressed how dangerous it was. Especially, with my young child. I asked him to quote me and he said about 1200. I said "okay, can you give me an exact quote and breakdown" not only was he hesitant to write me up a legit breakdown he kept repeating himself 1200. After, I asked for the 3rd or 4th time he printed a quote out and it was 1000. As, he was inputting the numbers for the quote he scuffed and shook his head and made a snide comment about how I got my brake inspection for free and they didn't charge me for that. Funny, how on their website it says brake inspections are free. But whatever that's not the complaint here. I got my quote and went home to discuss with my husband. A few days went by and I just ended up buying the parts myself. 4 rotors and brake pads about 350. I called Tire Time and asked the same front desk guy how much would it cost if I already bought the parts how much would they charge for labor, he said 650. I made myself very clear and asked if he was sure that I needed all 4 rotors and he confirmed yes I do. "better be safe than sorry" I decided not to go with Tire Time and ended up having a different mechanic do the work for a fractional of the cost. And guess what! ALL 4 ROTORS WERE SMOOTH AS CAN BE!!!! My brakes pads were NOT 1mm they were worn but not to the breaking point where they needed to be changed anytime soon! There was still plently of life on my pads and I was not in the "danger zone"!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called Tire Time this morning and spoke with the SAME front desk guy. Very calmly told him that there is something wrong here. That I was quoted 1000 for a job that did NOT need to be done. I was told all 4 rotors were BAD and they were in perfect condition. As, I did have new rotors put on a couple years ago I did find it hard to believe that they were all bad. But hey you're supposed to trust a well known establishment right? He kept interrupting me as I was trying to talk and kept asking for my last name over the phone and I said I do not feel comfortable giving me last name to someone that tried to scam me and that I wanted to talk to his supervisor or the owner. HE HUNG UP ON ME. I called several times after and he would not pick up. I called from a different number and he yelled at me saying he is not going to help me and play my little games until I give him my full name and hung up on me again. I am shocked I was almost scammed. The lack of professionalism is sickening. Their website says "mechanics with honesty & integrity" but yet I was scammed and hung up on. Very disappointed because like I said I have had nothing but the BEST experience here in the past and I would of recommended this place to anyone. That ship has sailed. My frist time having my car fixed in here, they charged a decent amount of $29 for conventional oil change with free tire check and rotation, break check and all, PEP use to do this before but now they charge for tire rotation which is a ripped off. You dont have to wait for very long. They will accomodate you right away. The lady that help me was awesome, shes very friendly and helpful. Great experience overall! It was time to change a couple tires as mine were very bald, Mark gave me an honest price and agreed upon a meet! Unfortunately I was not able to make it but gave me the next day to come in and change them! Almost didnt make that meet as I had gotten 2 flats including the spare. I explained the situation to Mark and completely understood the situation and gave me an open window to come back that same day to change all the tires which I did, brought one flat, changed the spare, came back and replaced the rest. I have been meaning to leave a good review for this place anyways but now it needs done! I first came here for a fix on a flat and they were super quick and nice. Then found out that when they do an oil change they also rotate the tires all for the same price $29.99 on a conventional change. This is the same price I have been playing at jiffy without the rotation so I'm back for my oil change. And now to top it off I have seen that the guys who work here are genuinely kind and go the extra mile. The guy at the front desk just delt nicely with a guy who just kept talking and waistline his time testing his patience. Only to find out the next and last customer before a holiday day off was here wanting to get a flat fixed on a baby stroller. They went across the street ( I'm guessing pep boys) to see if they could fix it and they said no. They couple even had the new tube to go inside. This guy was super nice about it. He took off the tire and helped them out! Even made them feel at ease about their unusual request instead of making it awkward. To rope it off he didn't even charge them!!! I searched under "Tire repair in San Jose" and they showed up with 5 Stars, I instantly thought great it means that they wouldn't be as slimy and shady. I also phoned ahead to get a quote for my tire repair so I had a price reference. As soon as I arrived I made sure to explain that I had a nail in my tire that needed to be repaired and I reiterated the price that was quoted and the service guy said "yep, that sounds about right" The service took approximately 20 minutes like they said it would. When they were finished they walked me up to the register and said, "BTW your tire had two nails in it" I immediately clinched and thought here comes the bait and switch and yet to my surprise he quoted me the same price. I happily paid and thanked him and his response was simply, "No problem, that's what we're here for" Honesty goes a long way for me along with an upbeat personality. It shows character and integrity which obviously I was expecting the worst. I'm happy to give these guys a 5 Star Rating and will be easily come back for future business. This place is great; highly recommend! Professional, efficient and super friendly. I've had my tire repaired here 3x as walk-in and they are efficient, always treat you with respect, and complete the task in 15-20 minutes. As a South Asian/Indian woman, you just never know how you will be treated at a car shop (mostly talked down to) but at this place they treat everyone like a friend or colleague which makes the experience great.
