I always make an appointment and I always get in and out. My review today is actually what I experienced while watching the manager handle another customer and their situation. He was like a medical professional delivering bad news to a family-- He came out, sat with them, explained the situation, offered to walk the back to look at their car, gave them several options (including one he was going to pay for himself) and his advice. He gave them bad news and yet they still walked out of there smiling. The worst experience of my life at a tire store. Dropped off a bent wheel and it took four hours shy of one week to get it back. Broken promises, non-return phone calls, you can't call corporate and complain, they charged me double the cost of what it should have been ($195 overcharge), and then they did not finish the facing of the wheel. Avoid tire barn. If you have a bent wheel go directly to someone that specializes only in repair of bent wheels. Also it lists on my bill that they gave me a $170 discount. What a joke. This was my first tire replacement, and his patience in explaining the pricing and services available, as well as his overall friendly energy really helped me relax. Bought Pirelli tires with a 65k warranty from these crooks. also paid for a hazard warranty. Ran over something. When I took it in for replacement I learned that after 43k miles my tires are down to metal (not visible). Manager today said warranty is only 50% of what's in writing because, according to him, Porsche tires can't be rotated. so the warranty is only half as long. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! Took my car for new brakes and tires. Spent 5 hours at the shop for them to say they ordered the wrong part, come back tomorrow. Went back the next day and spent another 2 hours. Drive off and hear a loud noise coming from drivers side. They failed to tighten the brakes to the point where the brake was falling off and blew a hole through the "boot". Had to get another shop to repair the damage they caused. This review details my experience with poor customer service and possibly discrimination at this location. I arrived for my tire installation appointment at noon and was "greeted" by Tyson. I checked in with him and handed my keys over. Immediately I realized that I had left my card to pay for the service so I asked him if it would throw things off with other appointments if I drove 5 minutes home to grab it and come right back, to which he responded with irritation in his voice "I mean, thats up to you. It's going to take 2 hours anyway" and handed me the keys back. I know that changing two tires is not a two hour job, but I was trying to be agreeable and just go with the flow. So I told him that I would instead just leave the vehicle and uber home. He looked so disinterested in what I was saying. I interrupted his blank stare by asking "What time should I return?" Instead of giving a pleasant customer service response like, "we're running a bit behind on appointments today, it may take 2 hours but we can give you a call when it's time to return..." Tyson instead said "That's up to you." I asked if he could give me an actual return time (since we both know it takes 30 minutes on the higher end to change two tires) but he would not offer a real time or even an honest explanation of the hold up. He responded less than pleasantly with "Um... Like two hours. Thats how long it takes to change a tire." At this point, I couldn't tell if Tyson was being cold and rude because I am a black woman or just simply a woman. I couldn't tell if maybe I had done something to offend him in some other way either. I knew that the treatment was not something Monro INC. had any knowledge of, nor would they be happy to hear about. Even so, my mission was to get the repurchased tires installed before leaving that day, despite the poor service I was receiving. So I reached out to hand Tyson the keys back so that I could Uber home and just guess when to come back. Tyson (who was wearing gloves and had two free hands still), looked at me and then he looked at the counter twice. I'm waiting for him to take the keys back when he says "Put them there," looking at the counter. At this point, I felt so icky about giving my business to Tire Barn. I felt like I wasn't a respected customer. I told Tyson that I thought it would be best for me to reschedule my appointment, and then I asked if I could speak with the manager (who I suspect to be Greg). TYSON LIED AND SAID HE WAS THE MANAGER. To this I simply requested that they find my tires and bring them to me so that I could take them somewhere else to have them put on. Tyson seemed delighted by this and even more dismissive. During the time it took for Tyson to locate the tires, he said several other things to me that were just not appropriate to share with a customer, especially not in his tone. I asked him if he could take a moment to explain why it was going to take 2 hours to change two tires since we both know it doesn't take that long and he told me "Because of COVID, half of my men are gone and I'm sick of being yelled at." Now this made sense but it doesn't excuse his actions or his manners with me! I work in two industries that have essential workers and I too deal with the stresses of being understaffed. But it is NEVER okay to take it out on the customers. Kindness during these times goes A LONG WAY. I told Tyson "All of that is completely understandable though. Saying that kindly would have gone so much better. And I haven't yelled at you at all so all of this has been unnecessary." He gave me a response that basically meant "well, it is what it is." No apology for making me the scapegoat to his other frustrations. No apology for treating me like I wasn't welcome. No apology for my confusion that all of this might have ensued because I am a person of color - which I'm still not certain wasn't the case. He rolled my tires out to the curb and I watched them flop down. With very few words exchanged, I walked out to grab my car, pulled up to the tires. At 2:54pm another lady walked in and said she had a tire issue as well. The gentleman requested she pull up to the bay behind the other car. I noticed my car was still in the parking lot. My drivers side rear tire was losing air consistently. Came to Tire Barn and figured I would have to wait for a while to get diagnosed so brought a coffee and a book. To my surprise, my van was in the bay less than 10 minutes after getting there and diagnosed in less than 15 minutes. Needed two rear tires as the tread was showing (my fault for not rotating) but they gave me a quote including military discount. I agreed and the tires were changed and all other required things done in about 30 minutes. Spent less than an hour there and walked away a happy customer. I go next to an auto service business to have my brakes service. They said my brakes are fine but my left control arms was so bad that there is no way they could of aligned my wheels. I then drove to work next day and tires were still out of balance. Went to the tire barn on west side and they rebalanced and fixed the balance on the two new tires. However I still had something wrong with the two older tires they moved to the rear. After talking to a few different people there, I made another appointment (3rd) for today. When I picked up the car they told me they just went ahead and replaced the two back tires (paid for warranty when I bought them over a year ago). She said she would wait which futhered this man's rudeness. After being told that the car was taken to garage immediately and returned to her in about 15mins. The next day noise was coming from the front end of the car when driving. Tried to make an appointment online to have them look at it, only to have it canceled and rescheduled for a week later this happened 3 times. Meanwhile my car is shaking and banging as I drove down the road. I took it to Belle tire and none of the tires got balanced. I'm worried this could have caused damage to my car. read more

This location used to be extremely efficient. However, while the quality of their tires is as good as any other, the last few times I have used them, they have been very slow. The last two times, they failed to call me when my car was ready. The most recent time, I was told my car would be ready within 24 hours. Upon calling the next day (after returning my rental car) I was told it would be more like 48 hours. It actually ended up being closer to 72 hours before I had my car back. All to fix a pothole damaged tire. I realize that is on the vendor that repairs the rim, but three days to fix a tire is a little ridiculous. Especially when you promise one day. Like I said, they used to be a very efficient and responsive team. Something has definitely changed over the past year though. Much slower now and less responsive/helpful. DO NOT TRUST THESE LIARS. I recently had a flat tire and brought it here for repair. The reps working that day ended up looking at the wrong tire and when they were finished they told me, "The sealant on the inside was corroded, we've replaced it for you free of charge". THERE IS NO SUCH THING LOL. These guys looked at the wrong tire, found no leak, and proceeded to make up a story so they could say, "yeah free of charge, just come buy tires from us next time you need some!" Absolutely pathetic. Had they just been honest with me, proper communication would have lead to me being able to tell them that they looked at the wrong tire and they could have fixed the actual problem. I ran over a metal piece and went to the Tire Barn where I purchased 4 tires. They closed so I went to the Fishers location. The manager was very rude. I had paid for the roadside hazard and had the tires 3 years and 2 months. He told me that they only honored up to 3 years. But the previous location said it was lifetime of the tires. There is no policy that states 3 years anywhere. He charged me $200 for a new tire. From there he then couldn't remove the spare because 2 of the lug nuts were too tight. This is a tire place. This is what they do. So I had to bring my car to the Car X in Castleton where they are awesome and changed with no issues and even didn't charge me for all my trouble. Go to Car X and stay away from Tire Barn in Fishers. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

It's been 3:30 and after asking 3 people one finally tells me they don't have the tires I ordered when I made the online appointment. They couldn't tell me that when I got here? Why was I allowed to make the reservation for them when I booked online? I feel like I was completely bait-and-switched but since I need them today I was able to talk them into a slightly better tire than I ordered for the same price, though it cost me a rebate on the others. But there is no excuse to make anyone wait 3+ hours and have to ask 3 people just to find out they don't have what I wanted. Do what I should've done and take your business elsewhere. read more

Update 8/7/14 I am lowering my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. 3 stars is "A-OK" so I am not saying this is a bad place to go. The reason they are getting a lower rating from me is simple: pricing. I just stopped into check on prices for two tires. I brought in a price quote from TireBuyer.com for two tires, after delivery, of $323.55. TireBarn is one of their approved installers and they list the install of two tires as $39.99. I went to the store to see if I could get them to match the price and set up an appointment and be done with it all at once. He said their final price would be just over $400! ???? He told me their prices have changed and TireBuyer.com has the wrong install price. He said they have tried to get TireBuyer (and TireRack) to change their listed install prices but they haven't. That's fine. I get that. But $80 to install two tires???!!! That's outrageous pricing and likely why every bay they had was empty. That is just not a competitive/sustainable business strategy. I can get four tires mounted and road-force balanced (better than the usual spin-balance) for $100 at most tire shops. I was told that Jarod is their alignment guru so I spoke to him about my needs. I wanted a specific camber measurement and I wanted to be in the car when they aligned it. He worked with me on all my needs and we talked about toe and caster as well. He provided me the alignment before and after spec sheet. I go to Tire Barn because a Chinese friend of mine who cannot speak English has blown two (almost) new tires and damaged a wheel she he hit a curb. I took this car to Tire Barn a few months go to get new tires. In fact, I have taken 3 cars from different Chinese friends who can't speak English and appreciate me taking care of this task for them. Alignment was also included. I also have 4 cars (two daughters) and have purchased tires for all of these cars in the past year. That's a total of 7 - about $3,000. Each experience with the exception of the one I am about to explain have all been good. I initially stopped in (with one of the blown tires on which the wheel was not damaged) on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We decided on a wheel and it was ordered and Ryan attempted to get it delivered Friday but no luck. It would not arrive until Monday. He said he would call me when it came in. He mounted a new tire to the rim and I took it back to the car, mounted it and put on the spare. Monday, I waited for the call and when I had not heard by 3:00 pm called Ryan. No apology or explanation for not calling. He told me his corporate office had failed to order the wheel and it would not be in now until Tuesday and he would call me when it came in. Tuesday comes and no call. I call Ryan late morning and he says the wheel is in. Again no apology or concern that he has not called me. When I asked him why he hadn't called, he said he didn't know the wheel had come in - he was busy. Said he would call when it was done. I call again in the late afternoon and get Tony. Tony says the wheel has not come in. I correct him and tell him I had talked to Ryan that morning and he said it was. Tony puts me on hold and clones back and says the wrong wheel was ordered and it would now be Wednesday before it arrives. I get angry and explain all that's gone on and he does apologize and says they will definitely have it done Wednesday and will definitely call. Wednesday and no call by 6:00pm! I call. Tony answers and says the wheel came in at 4:00pm. He will have them rush and get the wheel mounted and on the car. I remind him the car needs to be aligned and he says they will certain try to get it done before they close at 7:00. I tell him to keep it and get it done first thing in the morning. Thursday morning, Tony calls me first thing and has checked the alignment and it needs aligning. I authorize it and he says he will call me back when it's done. About 30-45 minutes Tony calls me and says it's complete. Tony is the only one in an entire week that followed through and showed even an ounce of customer service. Thank you Tony. I hope this shared with you. It appears since the Allisonville Road store was closed that this location (on Mundy Drive in Fishers) is swamped. They have so much business it just does not appear they even have to be concerned with service or respect to a customer to make a simple phone call when promised. I can accept mistakes, delays and other things as I have been in business all my life and know this. But I also know common courtesy is what keeps customers and promotes good will. Tire Barn's website is terrible when it comes to scheduling, and then even when trying to find a way to post a review. Let me start........ Scheduled an appointment online yesterday. (wife's car--we are grandparents) Went to pickup the vehicle (Mercedes E320) and then stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. Wow......wrong size tires installed........... Now it does get good.......... Called Kevin back who was the one who waited on us and then actually cashed us out. Explained the situation to him. This is where I thought it was going to go bad..........Kevin came over to the restaurant we were at and picked up the vehicle, installed the correct tires (with an upgrade because the Tire Barn website can not show correct inventory) and then brought the vehicle back to us.
