I was having car issues, called in as soon as the shop opened and I was told I could bring my car…read moreright in. Check in was fast and they had no problem coordinating with my dad since I wouldn't be able to answer my phone while I was at work. My car was ready a little after lunch time and the repairs were reasonably priced. An overall great experience.

This review is LONG overdue... Back in May I was heading to my first class of the summer semester…read moreand was unable to shift out of my parking spot in a parking garage on campus. What I initially thought was my transmission ended up being a broken piece on my shifter cable. Keep in mind, this occurred on the Wednesday before Memorial Day Weekend, and the workers (as they should) were also planning to enjoy the long weekend/holiday. John let me know that it was highly unlikely that my car would be fixed before the weekend, which I understood, but I was still a bit bummed about because I had several plans to start moving, traveling, etc. While I did not mention any of these circumstances to John, he let me know to call in the next morning for an update on the vehicle. To my very happy surprise, he let me know that he was able to find a shifter cable part from a friend in the community, and he even stayed late to fix it! Replacing shifter cables can be a pain, and I was so taken back that he was able to have my car back to me in less than 24 hours, with no appointment or heads up. I am not noting that he stayed late as something customers should rely on when choosing an auto repair shop. However, John was very thorough in explaining the process to me, and A&A exceeded all of my expectations. To stay late for someone so that they can have their car before the holiday weekend is top notch customer service, and it goes way beyond what any repair shop needed to do. Trust me, there are WAY more of people needing repairs and this shop would have stayed busy even without my business. To sum it up, A&A is reliable, I never once worried that I would be scammed as a young woman, and I will definitely bring my car back if I have any maintenance or any other issues. Thank you A&A!!

However, my experience with this Firestone Complete Auto Care location was pretty awful. To be clear, I ranked it a 2/5 because it does seem like they got the repair done and my car working back to the way it was before so that can't be discounted. However, the rest of the experience was pretty awful. I got my car towed there on Sunday, May 9th and had an appointment scheduled for Monday (the 10th) morning at 10am. They were closed when it got towed there so I called Monday morning letting them know I thought the starter was bad and that it would likely need replacing, but maybe more was wrong with it. From there on it was basically me doing all the work of communication. I don't want to pry or get annoying when I'm waiting to hear about updates so I try to give 30-36 hours in between calls to give ample time to get things done. Since I had an appointment scheduled I was expecting to at least have my car looked at on that Monday with maybe a diagnosis and part ordered with the car being finished say Tuesday or Wednesday. I called Tuesday afternoon before they closed and they said my car hadn't been look at at all yet. This was quite discomforting since it had been there for almost two full working days and nothing done, but I was told my car was next up. The delays were due to construction on the site, work on the parking lot (maybe that was one in the same as the construction), techs calling off work and needing more experienced techs to look at my car. I was like okay that makes sense, I'll be patient so thank you for updating me. The end of Wednesday comes around and I haven't heard anything and so I call again Thursday morning and nothing has still been done to my car. Nobody has looked at it or diagnosed anything. Same reasons. At this point I'm trying to plead with them to have someone look at it but the person I spoke to said he'd give me a call when there was an update. Friday afternoon rolls around and I still haven't heard anything so I call again. Like I said I don't like calling this much, but this seems unreasonable. They still haven't look at it. I'm pretty mad at this point, but I can also tell the person on the phone is a bit annoyed too because they're the same person I talked with on Thursday saying they'd call me when they get it looked at and he certainly doesn't enjoy having to repeat himself. We're both a bit at a loss for words and so he says he'll have the manager call me in a little bit. 15-30 minutes goes by and the manager does call me (yay!) and says that they decided to get guys together to move my car into the shop and have it checked out since I've been calling so much (so this happened in between phone calls). Says they think it is the starter and that the part likely won't get placed into the car until Saturday sometime. This is super frustrating at this point. It took like 15-30 minutes to diagnose what was needed for my car when it's been sitting on the lot ALL WEEK. Luckily I can work from home, but all of this should be unacceptable. Poor communication, no mention of "hey you should tow your car elsewhere because so much is happening we can't get to it for a while". AND being told Tuesday evening it was next to get looked at Wednesday morning. Just awful. So Saturday rolls around and I get a call right when they're closing that the car is done and I'll need to get it right when they open Sunday morning at 8am because work is being done on their lot so the car needs to be gone. Overall I'm just happy it's done, though annoyed it has to be at 8am but oh well. When I arrive Sunday morning to pick up my car, I'm talking to who I assume is the manager. He was kind overall and doubled down on how much has been going on there that week and into the upcoming week which I understand. However everyone should know that this kind of service is unacceptable. There definitely should've been communication about accurate timing of getting to vehicles and maybe even removing appointments from the website to help lower the amount of backup there was or something. Ugh. The last thing that ticked me off was that there was so little remorse for the bad service. Outside of no offer during the week to either tow the car elsewhere for free to help pay for it, when checking out there was no offer of a discount or anything to help make amends. I got a discount only because I mentioned a coupon that was on their website. THEIR OWN COUPON! They didn't even bring up their own coupons on their own. Truly just awful. Won't ever be going back there at all. I'm so lost how someone could ever recommend this place to anyone.
