On my trip to Sintra my friend and I decided for dinner we just trying to try a place with small plates because we were hungry but not too hungry. We found this tapas restaurant and decided it would be a good place to stop. This is a small place and you can make reservations - we did not but we arrived shortly after they opened for the evening.
I loved the ambience of the restaurant. It made me feel like I was in Aunt's dining room and she was in the kitchen cooking for me. There were a few mixed and matched tables and chairs and there's even a long table for a larger party. But overall, this is a very cozy environment. We weren't even able to watch two older women cooking in the kitchen.
For a meal, we shared a few things. We asked the waitress for suggestions (which I know can be annoying) and her response was "everything is five stars". I was a little surprised at that response, but after finishing my meal, she was right. We started off with the fried octopus. I had never had octopus before and this was excellent. Then we shared the rump steaks and mustard sauce and grandma's duck rice (which is baked in the oven). We ate every last bite of each item. The duck rice was perfectly made and had large chunks of duck. The rump steaks were just as good and the mustard sauce was so delicious. We ended our meal with dessert, sharing the chocolate caramel tarte. It was absolutely delicious. We only shared those few small plates and left very satisfied. It's definitely a place. I suggest as the waitress said "everything is five stars". read more
