    Burger & Mac& cheese
    Kevin W.

We came here passing through Calgary, saw good reviews and thought to give it a go. We got the fing jam burger, buffalo chicken pizza and macaroni and cheese as a side. The pizza was TOP NOTCH the dough was great, toppings great and flavor great. Burger was good, a little dry no real sauce other than mayo. But otherwise was pretty good. The Mac & Cheese was not good, very odd textured sauce it was very grainy and bitter, not something to write home about. The beers on tap were good. Service was good. Would suggest for the pizza and a reasonable burger.

    Chicken Alfredo pizza. Our fav!

My partner and I are new to Calgary so we are getting the fun task of trying restaurants that are new to us. We had something to celebrate and we googled places to eat at. This came up and the menu looked pretty cool so we decided to give it a try. We went on a Wednesday night and on Wednesdays they have specials on their wings and pizza so that was an added bonus! We tried quite a few things. We ordered the bruschetta which was excellent because the bread was not overly crunch! We also ordered the cauliflower bites which were a hit for me because I'm vegetarian. The sauce I picked for them was hot teriyaki. My partner ordered wings and she went with the rosemary chili sauce. We couldn't decide on which pizza to get so we ordered 3! We ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza, the Memphis pulled pork pizza and the Mac daddy pizza which is just a Mac and cheese pizza with bacon. The order I listed the pizzas is the order we favoured them in. The chicken Alfredo pizza was Bussin'! Such great flavours. The Memphis pulled pork was great and they even add pineapple to it which makes it literally the perfect bite. The Mac daddy pizza was bland. No flavour to it compared to the others we tried. Not sure we would order that one again but it was nice to try it! Our server was super friendly! I don't remember her name but she was very sweet and attentive. There were young men who would walk around and keep the tables clean and take away empty dishes. Which is super helpful when you order a lot! lol. The place had a very nice vibe especially for dates. We will definitely be back. Wonderful food and super friendly staff. Well done everyone!

Best lobster Mac and cheese!! Super cheesy and huge chunks of lobster. Burger was amazing too!

    Bugs Found In Drink!

****BUGS FOUND IN DRINK**** Today my friend and I decided to stop by the Tipsy Pig for some food and beverages. We were greeted by a friendly server who was doing her best as she was the only one working on the floor at the time. My friend and I placed our drink order and were browsing the food menu. When our drinks arrived I went to swirl around the beverage with my straw. As I was stirring I noticed something black floating around. Upon further inspection we found three bugs in the drink. Horrified, we notified the server and manager right away in disgust. As a restaurant, there should be health and safety inspections done regularly. Unfortunately, today this place failed to abide by the health and cleanliness guidelines. All-in-all, we will never be returning to the Tipsy Pig and warn you to examine your food and drinks prior to digging in if you are to go.

The Pig & Whistle is a kind of strange place to me. It's located in Beddington Mall and has a liquor store attached to it. It just seems like a really random location for a pub to be. Not only are they oddly placed, but the place itself is a little odd. It doesn't really seem like you're in a pub so much as a sports restaurant. There's something about the feel that doesn't give off your regular pub vibe. Maybe it's the high ceilings, or the lack of ID-ing, but I almost think minors would be welcome in this place. That being said, I don't really mind drinking here. Since the place is so big, and there's so much to look at, I've never really had a boring moment here. Granted, I've always had a really funny, interesting waitress serving me, so that definitely adds to the greatness of the experiences. They don't have ridiculous prices, but you're still going to be paying a bit to get a little tipsy. They have plenty of beer and alcohol to choose from, so you'll never run dry at this place. The Pig is a fine establishment, but doesn't get the business it deserves because of its location.

The restaurant is in a strip mall anchored by a Superstore and fairly new. It's great to see amenities popping up around that area. Parking was plentiful. Walking inside brought you back to the past with a diner type vibe. You line up to order and then sit down and they bring the food to you. You have option of pre-set burgers or build your own with what toppings and sauces you like. They also have combos where you can add a side and drink. My wife decided to get a single build your own cheeseburger so she could customize it. The kids ordered the Classic combo (one with onion rings and vanilla milkshake and the other with fries and Orange Fanta to share). I decided on the haddock. Food was so good. Fries were crisp and moist inside. Onion rings were crunchy. The family thoroughly enjoyed the burgers. The haddock was great but could use a bigger patty (the bun was bigger than the patty). Place is open and reminds of a diner. My son and I even watched them flip the burgers which was cool. A few tables to sit down and eat. Staff were friendly. We saw quite a few pick-up orders. We will definitely be back.

Btw I was a class clown love the name of this burger joint from entry to exit the hollistic about experience is engaging and stimulating. From the bright neon lights of the out door signage to the double entry passage, this 70's blue collar kitchy decor and mood lighting and just overall chill vibe had me telling myself I haven't been to a cooler burger joint than today! Drink selection is screaming "you will not be found wanting" they had sodas, juices, liquor, beer, mutha effing wine! Wine!!! I saw the little fridge with all the wines and I knew right then and there this place was special as Class Clowns customers came from all walks of life. Sitting there I noticed I wasn't the only solo missionary to satisfy our hunger. I also saw two tables of young collage aged friends, a small table with two pairs of couples, and two mature couples. I wasn't fortunate enough to witness anyone order a glass of wine wine with their meal. But none the less We all gathered in union under the class clown roof to fill our bellies. I ordered a lager pointed into a frosted mug. Pounded that early and just enjoyed water cuz DUI's aren't ever coo. By the time I was half way done with my beer the burger and fries were arrived and my eyes couldn't believe how beautiful it all looked together. the fries were barely able to fit in the bowl topped with this sweet and savory meaty meat sauce giving a sloppy Joe type vibe, for some reason I was expecting a Detroit style chili with some heat on it but that's okay cuz I'm in Calgary Canada and when in Calgary... the fries were the old skool crinkle with amazing crispy and snap even with the meat sauce it didn't get soggy. The fries despite not aligning with my anticipated flavor it was amazing and a must get side order when coming here! The dounke burger looked too sexy to mess with, from the toasted sesame bun, the melted gooey sliced American cheese, grilled sliced onions, shredded lettuce, and the main event the smashed burger but not paper thin was still able to have an amazing crispy edge and texture all the while maintaining juiciness. Close your eyes take a bite and one would feel transported to sunny Southern California but in reality its home is in Calgary spoiling and making these "calgarians" proud! The service was fast amazing and chill! The ladies made sure everyone was taken care of I can't wait to get back to Calgary and Class Clown burgers definitely will be one of my first stops!

The place is easy to find an near 16th avenue but parking is a challenge as there is limited 2 hour street parking. It's in a residential area so there are lots of permit parking. It's a nice little corner restaurant with lots of seating on patio and also inside. One thing that struck us is the place is super clean and we liked that the restaurant had sustainability practices in place. For example, there is no garbage - only recycling and compost. All their cups and burger boxes are all compostable. They also provided a water dispenser to fill up your water bottles or compostable cup (provided). I even saw outside they had little bowls so even your furry friends can have water. This restaurant, you order at the counter, they give you a buzzer and when food is ready you pick it up. We had 3 Double Empire burgers with cheese, 1 Empire burger with cheese, and order of fries to share, and a chocolate milk share. Also, took advantage of complimentary water and I dispensed waters for the table. Everything was really fresh and tasted great. Burgers had great flavour and didn't fall apart. The fries were nice and crispy with warm soft center. The milkshake was great and not super sweet albeit a bit small. Staff were friendly - they all said bye to us, when we left, like they appreciated us being there. Great food, inviting space, and sustainability practices all make this a 5* review.

The problem was that I thought it was only open after 5p when I don't like to eat heavy things like burgers. Today I noticed that they are open from noon Fri-Sat-Sun, so I checked it out today (Sunday, 5 January). First thing is that unlike at nearby Class Clown, you can get your food to go (yeah I don't get it either, how CC doesn't let you order to go), and I got the standard cheese burger (OG Smashie) and a side of regular fries, which came to $18.50. Food was ready in maybe 10 minutes and I walked it home. It was AMAZING. Fries are beautiful even though they didn't hold up well in the 15 or so minutes it took me to get home in -15, but still, delicious skinnier fries clearly made from proper potatoes and just very impressive. The burger was beautiful!!! Gorgeous smashed patties, beautifully dressed, more than I can ask for in a burger and now it's tied with iyycburg for my favourite in Calgary. It's... unctuous. It's good they're open for lunch only three days a week because I could eat this every day and that might not be the best thing for me. But it is tremendous.

Overall, I've always liked the place -- but there's one employee who consistently ruins the experience. The bigger guy working there -- you know exactly who I'm talking about -- has a terrible attitude every single time. No reason for it. This was the last straw. I came in around 9pm with my girlfriend. The place was nearly empty -- maybe three couples total. He immediately told me, "Sorry man, can't help you, we're way too busy. It's going to be an hour and a half." That made zero sense. I pointed out that the place was basically empty, and he doubled down saying they had too many online orders. That just felt like a lazy excuse to not deal with us. When his coworker looked like he was definitely about to take my order. It's frustrating because the rest of the staff has always been great, but this one person consistently treats customers poorly and doesn't seem interested in doing his job. At this point, I'm done. I won't be coming back or spending another dollar here unless something changes. A good business shouldn't let one employee drag down the entire experience like this. Since the old manager left, the place has clearly gone downhill. The only people consistently doing a great job are the ladies in the kitchen -- they're always friendly and actually make a solid burger. That said, the larger male staff member I mentioned should not be representing this business.
