Food/Drink: For starters, I got there after the main kitchen closed so they only had fried food. It was pretty late, I didn't even expect them to have any food. I just had fries, and they were good. I didn't have any alcohol, because I no longer drink, but it sounded like unreasonably cheap prices for the most part, at least compared to where I'm from. They also have cans of soda, which is my preferred style. The menu isn't huge but I'd also prefer that over overwhelming. They have plenty for everyone. It is 21+ at all times. Pool: The 7 foot tables were in pretty good shape, definitely better than the average bar table for sure. I didn't get a chance to play on it because others were using it, but they just got a brand new 9 foot table with an awesome, square, huge LED light for the top of it! They also hold tournaments pretty often, so it would be a good place to play for a long time, one day, without having to commit to a league of any sort. Service/Atmosphere: It's small, what some might consider a dive bar, but I think it can be so much more! I say that because the service was phenomenal. The bartender was so sweet and funny and honest and kind. I needed it that night, so I am truly grateful. All of the folks that were in there were also really nice as well, which to me, speaks of how the business is run and the people that they attract to their business. I'll be back if for nothing else than to say hello if I don't have time to play, but only if I'm passing through the town of course, it's a couple hours away from home. P.S. (nothing to do with this review) Yelp, I don't know if you actually read these but for some reason when I put a "." the next letter after the space doesn't capitalize. Not a huge deal, but I like for my reviews to be as grammatically correct as I know how, and having to go back to correct those is just a little tedious. This is the only app that it happens, so I was just curious if anyone else had the problem as well. I'm on an iPhone 14 ProMax if that makes a difference.

No one was particularly hostile and no one was very welcoming outside of the bartender. Well bourbons here are $2.50. Definitely not a place to roll in solo unless you're a pool player. Definitely felt out of place, I felt that way driving through the neighborhood it takes to get here. This experience was a train wreck. Sorry in advance for the novel. We arrived around noon on Sunday September 28th, 2014. The place was quite packed and loud. We were shown to our table in the far end corner of the restaurant. No problem. I'll list out the events of our experience in phases....... The drink orders were taken and we were given menus. The host seemed a bit rushed and not too friendly (no greeting, smile, thank you, etc). He started to leave before I'd finished telling him that I wanted no lemon or sugar in my iced tea. He delivered the drinks promptly. I took a drink of the tea. It definitely had sugar in it although not much. I might mention also that 4 people arrived about 10 minutes after we did, sitting next to us. They were served drinks and their orders taken almost immediately. (Big no-no). The server finally made it to our table (23 minutes after we arrived), again not friendly and quite rushed. We gave her our orders and asked for queso sauce. I let her know that the tea has sugar in it. She looked confused and uttered something. She rushed off with the glass. We figured she'd bring more chips since the basket was empty. When she showed up again 10 minutes later she only had the queso. She brought the tea back and again it had sugar in it! She never returned to our table so when the water guy came around I just ordered a glass of water. No biggie, only the glass smelled like a sour dishrag. I gave up. The food finally arrived (54 minutes after arriving). Looks good. Both the chimi shell and the tortillas on the fish tacos were sticky/soggy, as if they hadn't been cooked quite long enough. I'm not sure but we didn't make a big deal of it. We were done eating in a few minutes and just sat there, waiting, waiting, waiting. No check. Finally we gave up on the check and went to the cashier's desk. Nobody there and no employees to be seen anywhere. There were 4 of us waiting. Finally the man ahead of us went back to kitchen and got someone to come up to the front. It was our long-lost server. She looked frazzled. She didn't have the checks done and was looking at the menu to determine what the prices are. Hmm. We finally got out of there after an hour and 15 minutes. Perhaps it was just an off-day however this wasn't a good experience. Unorganized and unfriendly staff.

I took a moment to notice the large vintage film projector they had by the door, and the clean, modern, rather dark decor of the place. I won't fault them for any of that. She seated me and asked what I'd like to drink. I asked what they had, and when they said they had Coke products, I asked for a Coke Zero, as I'm watching my calories and sugar. They didn't have Coke Zero, and the only thing they had without sugar was Diet Coke (which they were out of). When they said they were out of Diet Coke, I asked my server what they had to drink that didn't have sugar. . .she got a puzzled look on her face, stared at me for a few seconds like that was a bizarre request, and then said water. She said she was going to go check, she went back and asked someone in the kitchen and confirmed that's it. Water. No other diet drink. No unsweetened tea. On that note, I got up and left. I figured that was a bad start to a meal and the attitude I dealt with in even asking discouraged me even more. If you were here looking to be calorie-conscious (or watching your sugar intake) with what you drank, they didn't have anything for you. . .and even asking got me some funny looks.
