The process was pretty simple. They measured, asked about options and we signed the paperwork and the order was placed. The windows arrived when they said they would and the crew was there on the morning of install as they promised. Seem like they sent more guys then they needed but that was their business (our price was already set). They worked most of the day and took about 30 mins to cleanup and showed us how everything worked. After they left we double-checked their caulking (inside and out) and everything look really good. Not that we were surprised but you never know. The windows have been in for several weeks now and the owner called to check in last week (nice touch!). We are happy with the results and they will be our first call when we do the rear windows next year.

I guess 120k was worth spending an hour or two on a quote. 10 month later, I get an 3 emails in 3 weeks asking for a review so here it is.

We decided to go ahead with their quote because we really liked Kalleb (owner) and his thoroughness + attention to detail. Our stairs came out great! Kalleb had a great team to help get the stairs done as well as a team to add in the landing, which was done in stone. We also had them make a "baby gate" for the stairs and it looks so good! Everything ties in to the original design so once it's painted, I believe you won't be able to tell the difference between what was there and what was added. Needless to say, we look forward to working with Kalleb again on whatever our next project is!

She felt James was not very professional at all. He didn't really ask about what we were trying to do or why. Just took a quick look, without inspecting the flooring, beams, or anything, and said he could fix it with about 12 pieces of plywood. He didn't explain his process, timeline, or anything. He didn't ask about, or offer, any other options we might've wanted to consider for flooring. On the way out, my sister said he mentioned that he could've cut our tree down for us (we had arborists in a huge tree taking it down), he could pressure wash, and do just about anything else. RED FLAG #1: TRUST YOUR GUT. We have the same nerve cells in our bellies as we have in our brain. If your gut is screaming about someone you've only just met, that's a problem. RED FLAG #2: For a basic handyman, being skilled at different things is great. If you're looking for an EXPERT, however, for a specific task/project, DO NOT ever go with a jack-of-all-trades-but-a-master-of-none!!!! Get someone who has invested time & discipline in their craft! It makes a world of difference in the quality of work. Overall, my sister reported that she felt very uncomfortable with both James and his counterpart. A couple of hours after he left, I get a text from this guy. But he met with my SISTER, remember. The text read (copied & pasted verbatim): "yes material to replace all the boards it an screws is 700 an labors would be 1200 including taking old wood off an put down new wood if the ain't anything underneither is rotten" No explanation of what kind of wood, how much wood, pressure treated or not, etc. And PLEASE help me understand $1200 for a little 12x30 deck subfloor! RED FLAG #3: Shouldn't he have LOOKED to see if the base wood was solid or needed replacing along with the top flooring - so he would know if "anything underneither is rotten"?!?! Then, this man, whom I've never seen, or met, has the nerve to text me (copied & pasted verbatim): #1 "ok when would u want it done mama" #2 "an pressurewashingwe can also do that too" #3 "ur driveway an sidewalk an house" WTH?!?! Sir, you don't know me like that!!! I am NOT your "mama", "baby," "sweetie," "darling," or otherwise!! I WAS a POTENTIAL CUSTOMER (that you just lost) by being way too comfortable with being disrespectful OR too careless to read your text message for spelling errors before sending. My friends call me Michael, my clients call me Dr. G; you, Sir, may address me as Ma'am or Dr. Godfrey! I was so offended, I simply did not answer. Done. You think? Not yet! The next day, Wednesday, I get a text at 9:57PM that read (copied & pasted verbatim): "Yes r u interested in us doin ur project" I responded Thursday morning, at 9:57AM saying simply, "No, thank you." To which I get the following text response (copied & pasted verbatim): "ok what r u needing done ever u want t the flooring replaced or just repair an patch an cault the joint an re painted" I'm sorry; what part of "no, thank you" did you not understand? I was so pissed that I just blocked the guy at that point. I cannot even make this stuff up!! And I cannot say anything about this guy personally nor can I comment on his work. He could very well be a great guy who does great work; but first impressions matter when you are asking someone to spend thousands of dollars.

I can't tell you how pleased we were with Top Notch Roofing and Construction. We had to have a new…read moreroof due to several factors - bad quality shingles, hail, and wind damages. I had used Top Notch one other time to replace a roof on a small rental house, and the job he did on that was good so I decided to have him come out and bid on my home's roof. After getting the go ahead from the insurance company I called Mike Smallwood at Top Notch and he came to my home with samples. I wasn't liking any of the samples he brought. We discussed what I was looking for and he suggested a different set of colors and brought samples for that. We found the color that best matched the existing roof. I'm not a big fan of the large color differences in a lot of the new style roof colors. They look like checker boards. Way too busy. I like a more subtle color variance in roofs. I'm picky!! We climbed a latter and took the samples up to the roof to see how they looked. We were satisfied with the Weathered Wood Shadow. A GAF brand shingle. It was perfect. The date was scheduled but three days before the install he called and asked to push the date back one day due to the weather forecast. He was spot on. It rained heavily the day of the original schedule. On install day he met his crew early at the house. They prepared the yard with tarps to cover and protect shrubs and our swimming pool. The job took two days. The team of guys he uses were awesome. A few minor things were noticed as the new install progressed and Mike took note and took care of them in a very expeditious manner. After the roof was complete and the work finished, Mike and the crew went around the yard picking up debris, trash, and nails. The yard LOOKED fantastic when they left. We did not have to do a thing towards getting our yard back in shape. Thanks Mike for a great job. Well done. I can highly recommend you to my neighbors and friends. Of which I already have.
