I am new to the area and decided to give this place a try. I should have read the reviews prior to going. At any rate, the nail tech started off confused about the shape of my nail. Most techs would have simply asked, what kind of shape do you want. Her filing was extremely rough. When I told her that my nails were filed crooked, she became defensive and refuse to continue the service. She lied, and stated, that's how my nails where. Her behavior was uncalled for and very unprofessional. I had no issue in discontinuing the service. It was very clear that she was incompetent, unskilled, and lack business integrity. I went elsewhere and received A+ service. My nails were done to my satisfaction. As a business, you have to do better when it comes to the quality of service you provide and how you treat your customers. read more

I'm so sad with my experience here. I just moved to this area, so this was my first time here and unfortunately my last. I asked for french tips with cute little ghosts on 2 fingers since Halloween is coming up. To start, my appointment was so rushed, as the guy took me with 15 minutes until his next client's appointment. Next, I didn't realize they don't use gel nail polish for french manicures - instead they use this airbrush color thing that has horrible payoff. It doesn't fill in your nails or add any color so it leaves them translucent and they look like those Kiss press on nails from the drugstore where you can see your natural nails behind the glue. My cuticles were so horribly done that after 3 days, they started to lift and my hair got caught under my nails in the shower. Three days! So, I went back in and kindly asked to get them corrected as the white tips were all crooked from the airbrush, there was no pink underneath and the base was just my natural nails (which are ugly), my nails are literally see through, the ghosts were cheap stickers when I was expecting a cute painted design, and they were lifting after 3 days. The workers took a look at them and spoke to each other in Vietnamese and then told me they "don't look bad, they look natural. You just don't like it." (Referring to the press-on nail look.) Then, he told me I have a lot of skin around my nails and that's why the guy messed up my cuticles. *That was such BS since this has never happened before to me, and Ive been getting my nails done for years. But I digress.* So to fix it they just took a small sander and cut around the cuticles and put a clear top coat on. During those 2 minutes I was thanking him and apologized as I have anxiety and don't want to make any of them feel bad and how they looked cute I just needed them fixed. He didn't respond once, nor did he tell me I was done. After the top coat dried under the light, he just got up and went behind the front desk on his phone and I was awkwardly sitting at the station waiting. Eventually after waiting 5 minutes thinking he was going to come over and fix the design or go over with the pink gel polish to fix the airbrush fail, another lady told me "you're done, you can go now" and I was appalled. They didn't fix anything except re-trim the cuticles sloppily, and they couldn't even give me the decency to tell me I was done and could leave after the gel top coat dried. Literally horrible service, I never ever leave bad reviews but I just wanted to put this out there for anyone looking for a nail salon in this area. They blamed me and made me feel horrible for going back. Don't go here in the first place, save yourself the time! So sad :( read more

I'm giving 2 stars for their friendly customer service and the fact that they kindly took me in before they even opened, which I greatly appreciate. The execution of my $42 acrylic full set (w/ gel) was rushed and messy. The nail tech didn't even take the time to trim my cuticles or wipe off the nail dust before painting them. Went here for a pedicure and gel fill and cost me $87. The pedicure started out ok but the girl cut my skin several times. When I told her she smiled and continued. I told her my skin was burning when I put my feet back in the foot tub and she smiled and laughed. My toe nails are not even filed evenly and I dont think I have ever had them cut so short. Then she sent me to the girl to do my fill. I guess I interrupted her lunch as her breathe smelled like hard boiled eggs. She threw a color book in front of me and told me to pick a color in all of about 30 seconds. I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years and have never had someone as rough with the drill as this lady. She then proceeded to throw on 3 coats of gel almost as though she was irritated with me. She never filed the edges of my nails and then put the gel polish on so sloppy that it is all over my hands. She wore gloves that had already been worn on someone else as there was paint and glitter all over them. So now my nails are still rough on the edges but to her I must be done since she got up and walked back to her break room not to be seen again. This all took about 2 hours too! So now I'm waiting at the register to pay with no one coming to help me. I finally flagged someone down and they then tell me $87. I was floored! This place is dirty and all of the workers were very rude. I am so pissed off because I dont get out very often to get my nails done and now I am stuck with these awful looking nails for a few weeks not to mention feeling ripped off by the cost. I would never return and warn others to find a different nail salon. Truly awful experience if I could give it a lower rating I would!! read more

i absolutely love this place, i have been going there for years and have never had a bad experience. i go to cindy and i've never been unhappy with how my nails have turned out. she is very knowledgeable and will explain if i have any questions. she gives me great tips and will give me little deals since i am a returning customer. i know the guy who answers the phone isn't the friendliest but he's never messed up my appointment time. i also know it may be a little intimidating walking in as almost everyone is facing/ staring at you but just explain why you are there and they will happily help you, i've seen many people walk in and be rude bc they are unaware of what to do. i've read all of the negative reviews and do not understand how they could have received bad service from this place. read more

She barley massaged me! My shoes were on & she lifted the chair arm. Totally rude, I felt like I was getting kicked out. She never asked what kind of pedicure I wanted, there was 1 scrub. So unprofessional there. They really do not care about the customer service at all. I went there a hand full of times bust my last two experiences have been the worst and i will NEVER GO BACK! I was getting a refill with gel polish and as I was getting my nails filed down ready for polish this woman comes up and starts yelling at the man who is doing my nails. She said had an appointment 15 mins ago. I understand if she did but there were two other workers just sitting on the pedicure chairs just watching tv. He moves me to the station next to him paints my nails and then asks me to keep the one hand under the uv light and begins to work on her nails. Then is bouncing back and forth between us to get me finished and her started. I finally was finished after an hour when it really shouldn't have taken more than 25 mins if even. The last time I went in I asked for a gel refill as soon as I walk in the door and they sit me down with a woman and she asks if I was a gel manicure, I say yes gel but refill she asked me two more times and I can barely understand her and I just say yes. She ends up prepping me for a manicure and paints my one nail and I ask her why she didn't refill my nail first? She then accuses me of telling her the wrong thing and files down my nail removes the polish and starts to refill it. When I clearly walked through the door and they don't even say hi and Just ask me what I want and I said REFILL. The ENTIRE 30 mins left of my stay she is blaming me because I didn't tell her refill and she was just assuming manicure...... If you can clearly see that I have acrylic on my fingers why would I ask for a manicure which a huge gap in between my cuticle and last polish? I work in customer service and this was the worst service I have ever received I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I used to come here every 2 weeks for a fill for over a year. Now, I only come back accasionally but I try to make it the exception to the rule. I always make an appointment and show up on time or early. Yet I always end up sitting for at least 20 extra minutes, if not more. I don't mind if they are running behind, but I get no acknowledgement or even an apology for having to wait. Then they jump back and forth from one station to the next instead of doing one job at a time, which may help their time issue. Everytime, i hope it will be different, but it's not. My daughter (17) and I were regulars for 3+ years and rarely had an issue. We had appts the first day they reopened on 6/22/20. I got my regular gel fill and pedicure and my daughter got tips with gel fill. Her nails were done so poorly that they all either ripped off or fell off and destroyed her nail beds and she is still, 2 months later, regrowing. When we contacted them, the same day, the owner/manager, Penny told my daughter to contact her bank and reverse payment because she refused to refund her, even after sending her pictures of the damage. Well, fast forward till now, we got a letter from the bank stating that the charge was valid, therefore, no reversing, no refund! Ion calling Penny again, she basically told us that she would not refund her money. I highly stress not to waste your money at an establishment who refuses to stand behind their work and doesn't care about their clients/customers. Oh, the best part is that she raised her prices by $15 for all services AND is charging a fee to use credit/debit card. A total rip off!! I do not recommend Tip Top Nails for anyone. read more

I will never go here again. I'd been going for a few years, on and off, but recently starting getting my acrylics done here as it is closer to my work. Today was my 3rd visit for a fill and it was the worst salon experience of my life. The woman's name was Anne. At first, I thought she was just brusque, but as the minutes ticked by she seemed to be getting more and more impatient and angry with me. She cut me with the electric buffer and asked if I was ok in the fakest voice possible. (I said yes to be polite but I was actually bleeding.) Then, she started filing my nails like she wanted to rip them off. She was catching my fingerpads on each stroke and literally rubbing off my skin. When she went to put on the pink base of my manicure with the air brush, she did it so fast and furiously that my knuckles were all stained pink with the paint. When she used the white for the tips, it got all over my fingers as well and stained there. Finally she went to put on the final coat and I was so glad it was almost over. That's when she snapped at me out of nowhere saying, "Can you not do that? You are messing me up." I wasn't doing anything. The final blow came when I had just put my hands under the lamp for the last dry and another customer walked in, asking to see another nail artist. Anne told the woman that the nail artist she was looking for was not in today, and then offered to do her nails instead. "Would I have to wait?" she asked (as if I wasn't sitting right there?) "Just until she is done," Anne said and gestured for me to bring my hands out from the dryers. Keep in mind I had JUST put them in the dryer and I KNEW they were still tacky. Nonetheless I brought them out and sure enough the cotton ball she used to buff my nails with rubbing alcohol got all caught up in the polish and left little strands in my new nails. Meanwhile, said rubbing alcohol seeped into the cut she had JUST given me and burned like hell. I was furious by the time she told me to go wash my hands. I stood up to walk back to the sink and that was when she told me to take all my stuff with me. At every other salon I've ever been to, the artist will either a) let you leave your things at the station for the 1 minute it takes to wash your hands or b) carry your things off for you, because your nails are likely still soft and it's common curtesy. I was fuming mad by then, needless to say she didn't get a tip and I am never going back there in my life! One other note - pasted on the wall at this place is a check that was written out to Tip Top Nails over 4 years ago, with a red stamp on the side reading "INSUFFICIENT FUNDS." Every single thing on the check was visible, the person's name and address, their routing and account numbers at the bottom, everything. Above the check, someone had written, "This is why we don't take check." I mean, I get that you're mad, but seriously? That is awful! Who in their right minds would parade their terrible customer service around like that? I cannot believe how many times I have been fooled into thinking that it was worth the hassle to get my nails done close to work. NEVER again. Ladies, you can get your nails done better, for the exact same price, a hundred other places in Central Jersey. DON'T GO HERE. read more

Not tips, not a refill, a gel mani that they are supposed to SOAK OFF. I walk into Tip Top today and the guy told me where to sit, then starts DRILLING my nails! I asked him, "Aren't these supposed to be soaked off?" He told em that he would just use the drill on the gel, not the nail itself. Liar.
