my god where do I begin. My experience with Kristin from the beginning warranted this review. During my acupuncture experience, she had difficulty explaining the science behind her process and being a doctor (I have a doctorate in the medical field/not an MD, in response to Kristin's comment below) myself, I chose not to return to her to aid my fertility treatments. Thinking maybe she had an off day/the stress of COVID, I chose not to leave her the deserved review at that time. Then comes this spammed message to her entire client list (current and past) spouting her religious "ignorance" of the IVF process and to shame those she has helped In this "immoral act". Being a catholic myself, I find it hard to believe that someone who is a "devote" Catholic and CHOSE THIS AS THEIR PROFESSION was unaware of the Church's stance on it. Clearly she sent the email as an act of repentance to clear her conscience. The more professional thing to do would have been to contact her current clients she could no longer service and alert new clients of her stance upon inquiry instead of trying to make past clients, who I am sure she has helped get pregnant, feel badly about the means that God intended for them to grow their family. She of course is more than free to change which type of clientele she would like to treat based on her morality. This should have only pertained to current and future clients. What I find very un-Christianlike of her is how she tried to shame past clients for what they had done. Her defensive comments below spout that not everyone needs to seek other means of fertility treatments (IVF and IUI), again speaks to her ignorance of the infertility community she should have better knowledge on. There are many diagnoses that IVF is the only means of growing their family. I promise you the families you have helped make babies have exhausted all other options prior to pursuing the emotionally draining and expensive process of IVF at the "chance" to have a baby. Please be wary before seeing this practitioner with such draconian beliefs. I will not be referring her to any friends seeking fertility acupuncture. I was well aware of Tiny Needles location but until a friend went for treatment for an injury I didn't know anyone who had been. After injuring my back and hamstring, again, I decided to go and see if acupuncture could help me heal. I knew that like chiropractor care for back pain, versus on-going maintenance, this wasn't going to be a one-time visit for relief. I've also talked to Kristen about treatment for migraines and sinus pressure. I'm completely amazed at what questions regarding my health she has after checking my tongue and pulse on both wrists. I don't 100% understand what she is doing, but I try to be very thorough in sharing what type of pain I'm having and where it is located. She is quite possibly one of the nicest people I've encountered and given me some tips of movements to make while at work to help my body. To get started, visit the website and grab the patient profile papers to complete before your first visit. Then, schedule a visit and make payment through her online scheduling system. This is community acupuncture, not private room, so be prepared for a group setting of people relaxed (and possibly snoring) in chairs when you arrive. As quietly as possible find an empty chair, slip off your shoes/socks and make your arms and legs available. In the summer, I found wearing dresses and flip flops to be the easiest because there have been a few times I've had needles in my thighs just above my knees. When she visits your chair, you'll have time to communicate a little about what's going on and this is where your indoor voice is invaluable. I've brought bullet point notes so I can quickly and easily communicate with her and not disrupt others. After your needles are in, be prepared to close your eyes and relax. Do not worry about the next person coming in, or leaving, getting agitated when chairs make noises or someone talks too loud, the street noise, the toilet flushes, etc. Also at the time I've been going her beautiful dog has been present, usually sleeping on the floor. I went to Kristin when I was 33 weeks pregnant for both my back pain and a breech babe. She treated me safely for my back pain with acupuncture and used moxibustion to get baby to flip. I had gone to see her multiple times to repeat the acupuncture and moxibustion and at 37 weeks, baby girl flipped! My back also felt great those last weeks of pregnancy! It took me until I was extremely pregnant and overdue before I decided to give acupuncture a try. I went to Kristen at one of the community sessions to see if it would give my baby that extra oomph to come on out and greet the world. My sister warned me that it could take 2 or 3 times, but to be open minded. My Mom had been having extreme pain in her back, seeing a chiropractor multiple times a week. I encouraged her to have acupuncture, but she was skeptical. She lives out of state, but was coming to visit, so I set an appointment up for her as a surprise. Of course- as travelling goes, multiple flights of hers were cancelled, and she ended up getting into town hours after the appointment that I set up. I sent an email telling of the circumstance, fully expecting to forfeit the money I had put down. Kristin was amazingly understanding and allowed us to rebook for a few days later. I recently started going to Tiny Needle to help with my weight loss. I was very skeptical of acupuncture and very affraid of needles. Kristen was awesome and explained everything in a very no-pressure kind of way. This place is a real gem. I was already a believer in acupuncture because it helped my mother a lot after she broke her arm. Normally it is quite costly to have treatments, but Tiny Needle is very affordable. It has a very relaxing atmosphere, and the owner is extremely helpful. As the other reviewers commented, she is attentive, caring, and easy to talk to. I started going mainly because of the chronic strain in my neck, shoulder, and eyes, and I feel a great deal of improvement. Initially you may not feel much of anything while the needles are inserted, but in my case I started to feel an incredible flow of energy in my arms and feet in the 2nd or 3rd treatment. Even though I currently have no outstanding problem, I go for stress relief and relaxation, which is something I really need. If you are on the fence, give this place a try. It is definitely worth it. Updates (May 2016) I am still getting treatments here regularly. I have been suffering from a trigger finger for the last few years, and last week Kristin tried a new point right on the palm of my hand. It was a real breakthrough! Kristen is amazing. I found Tiny needle when I was looking for alternative treatment to my Dr pumping me full of steroids bc he "didn't know" what was causing my skin issues. I had never had acupuncture treatment before and was a little bit wary, but figured anything was better than what I was doing. At first I wasn't so sure about the community setting, but other than a few infrequent snores here and there from neighbors (I probably contributed as well haha) it was a great fit. FINALLY, acupuncture provided by a highly trained, board certified practitioner at an affordable cost. I asked Kristin to help me with a chronic neck/shoulder/upper back pain that I've had for about 14 years. Half a dozen physical therapists, a chiropractor, a really good deep massage therapist have all failed to even mitigate the pain for more than a few hours. Tiny Needles was recommended to me by a massage therapist at Mitchell's. Kristen was highly recommended because of her background study into group acupuncture in China. I have had about 5 treatments to help relax and alleviate tight muscle groups and some wrist/joint pain. I was amazed at the state of relaxation I can achieve during treatments! I was skeptical about being able to relax with other people around but the combination of comfortable recliners, soothing, peaceful music and a soft blanket -I am not even aware of those little needles, much less people. The location is easy to get to and I have found parking out front every time. I did contribute about 50 cents to the parking meter but after a treatment there are plenty of wonderful spots to grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat. I do like scheduling appointments and paying online and I can actually afford the treatments! My only negative comments are that there are no evening or weekend appointment times. I started to have a knee issue for 4 months. I went to see one of the best orthopedic docs in Cincinnati before I went to Tiny Needle to see if the doc could tell me if I had torn something inside of my right knee. He said I had to get an MRI for a proper diagnosis. It would have been $800 or more for MRI. And probably I would have been prescribed for physical therapy, if not surgery. It would have costed me $250 Per session until my deductible met. So I thought that I had nothing to lose but to try this place. So I went for the first/initial consultation. The acupuncturist, Kristin, was so nice, compassionate and genuinely concerned for my overall health. She spent more than adequate time to get to know me and my health status. I am an RN working in ICU at local hospital. So comparing the doctors I see everyday at work Kristin can top them. Also I am from a country where acupuncture therapy is very well known alternative to western medicine/practice. Her practice is real. I love the pressure seeds she places on my fingers so that even after the acupuncture therapy I can still use them to stimulate the blood flow of my problem area to heal. This is community acupuncture. So you are with other people in a room but it doesn't matter because their appointments are different and she spends enough time on you for the day of therapy.
