I believe this place serves AYCE hot pot but for two people, we decided to just get the dishes. The prices are about 20-30AUD for the most part. Kung Pao prawns with red pepper and peanuts- the prawns here are so fresh. And if you think they prawns here aren't spicy, you gonna be incorrect, sir/madam! The prawns here are gonna be juicy and spicy. The peanuts are gonna be on the bottom of your dish and you gonna love it. Stir fry beef with vegetables on iron plate. OMG. Why does Melbourne food taste so delicious ._. The beef is so fresh and so spicy ;_; I even ate the bell peppers. That's how good this dish was for me. If you're not a fan of the Szechuan style, then you're probably not gonna find too much here at China Chilli. Love the food. Would probably come again hehe. Also, you get the check and then pay at the front!

On a Saturday night, the restaurant was buzzing and there was a 20-30 minute wait. I was so excited when they finally called to let me know the table was ready. It was my friend's first time eating hotpot and I'm glad he lost his hotpot virginity here. This is a very authentic experience. We got the double pot with fish/chicken broth in the middle and spicy broth outside. If I were to do it again, I'd switch the order because they spicy broth ended up being a bit too much. The sauce bar was great and there were tons of options to make the best sauce you can imagine. We tried many of the menu items- sliced beef, pork, lamb, tender beef, fried pork, fish fillets, fish balls with pork inside, shiitake mushroom, soft tofu, sweet potato noodles, rice cakes, pea sprouts, and bok choy. The tender beef was one of my favorites but I was already stuffed by the time we got to it. I should've paced myself better. In the end, all I could eat was not that much but we had a great time nonetheless.

A different sort of Chinese restaurant, Chong Qing Hot Pot has a good reputation for offering high…read morequality authentic Szechuan meals. This means that there will be a certain spiciness to many of the dishes, as compared with the more common Cantonese, Szechuan is typically hotter. Order yourself a hotpot. There is a good range of ingredients to choose from, and invariably the meal you are presented with will be delicious. A few times, I've gone with a fairly spicy option, and although it was probably too hot for me (if I'm truly honest with myself, it was pretty much thermonuclear, heat-wise), I could not stop myself from enjoying it. The service was alright. Typical suburban Chinese restaurant. Nice atmosphere, and it can be a busy place at times. Worth a look if you're feeling adventurous.

If I had chosen the hotpot, I would have likely written a negative review because the choices looked unappealing for the price. Luckily, I went for the cooked dishes instead. A night at a Sichuan restaurant wouldn't be complete without the signature spicy fish. This came in a massive bowl with lots of soft smooth fish meat. Though it was milder than many other places, it was still delicious on a cold day. The gong bao prawns were more honey sweet with peanuts than spicy. The three cup chicken looked ordinary but was surprisingly well made. The chicken pieces were crispy, and tasted great because of the fragrant garlic with a hint of honey sweetness.

The night before I came here, I lost my phone in a taxi, generally had a bad night and hoped that…read morethe next day would be better. Sichuan House Seafood with its beautiful decor, top-notch service, and impeccable food (matched with the company of some great mates) made my Saturday night awesome! To start my review off~ for everyone who is unfamiliar with Szechuan/Sichuan (different was of spelling the same time) food, it specialises in spices. Crazy Wing in the CBD? Yeah - that's Szechuan food. But don't be discouraged if you have sensitive taste buds that can't handle it - they offer to make their dishes milder if need be and there are plenty of non-spicy dishes as well. Ambiance: This is a beautifully decorated restaurant with 2 floors and several private rooms that can be rented for functions. Come here dressed relatively classy! Customer Service: We had very attentive and professional service. The manager, Jerry, was especially great and seriously knew his stuff! I guess it is what you would expect of a man who has worked for a 5-star hotel in the past. Food: INCREDIBLE. Honestly, incredible. My recommendations... - Pork Belly: Some of the most delicious and tender pork belly I have ever had. The perfect amount of flavour and garhnished with veggies. - Roasted Eggplant w/ BBQ Sauce - Sounds weird, but it's a Chinese-style BBQ sauce and was probably my favourite dish out of all of them. Went fantastic with the rice, explosive in flavour, and great texture. - Xiao Long Bao - So when I have ever NOT recommended Xiao Long Bao? Those heavenly morsels of deliciousness? Yeah - order them because Sichuan House Seafood excels in this category. If I pick up a Xiao Long Bao with chopsticks and the wrap doesn't break but I can feel the soup swishing around inside, that's usually a good sign. - Roast Duck - Who doesn't love a nice Roast Duck? How about a Roast Duck perfectly cooked and the flavours were allowed to seep in? Yeah - I think that kind of Roast Duck is gonna be universally loved. There were a few other dishes that were also incredible, but those 4 I just recommended really stuck out in my mind. --- But do you want to know the real reason why this place deserves 5 stars? We were served sliced watermelon.... with the shell of the watermelon cut into the shape of a phoenix and presented for display. I wanted to take that thing home. Pictures coming soon.
