It's about £5 a dish with a huge selection of vegetarian dishes to choose from. We ordered in food for my dad's 60th birthday, my brothers wife being a little too pregnant to cook. With the majority of my family being vegetarian this can be an issue, but not for Tin Tin's. The selection was really half the menu, an array of choices. Having travelled for most of the afternoon, we were starving by the time we reached our destination - Hampton Court. The hotel bar had already closed down (what?) and no food close to us - only an indication to walk across the bridge and pray. Well it worked as we found Chu Chin Chow. Not sure they were so happy to see us - but they are technically open til midnight, so we siezed the opportunity. It's been a while since I was south of the border, and rarely had the boy come with me on visits to my old haunts - so we were treated to a classic north south language divide - lemonade, what? lemonade, come again? leh-mon-aide, oh right... Apart from the snarky service, food was surprisingly good (we really didn't have high hopes given the time of night and surliness of the waiter) - a giant spring roll (hurray, more beansprouts, less pastry!), fresh cooked mains. Only confusion - barbeque prawns delivered rather than ribs - aye, us Scots are hard to understand... (yeah, the waiter really didn't understand a word we said). As a last minute stop, Chu Chin Chow worked a treat, but rather unwelcoming service. Still, it would do if I was in the same predicament again, and it's a shame that the service wans't a little more positive, as I would probably be a little more impressed than I was in the end.

Most…read moretimes, I would prefer to get Thai, Japanese or Vietnamese, but occasionally, you can't beat a good old Chinese. The Regent Garden is probably Molesey's best Chinese restaurant. I make a point of going their over the others because they do not put MSG in any of their dishes, and also make their food GM-free. Plus I think their food is tastier then the rivals. When I get a takeaway I usually go for the deep fried aubergines in salt and pepper with chillies. It is delicious, but calorie wise, I can only afford to have this about once a year. Less fattening choices, but equally as good, are the fish and sea food dishes. I like the salmon stir fried with ginger and spring onions, or the scallops with asparagus. The duck is particularly good here too. The portions are large and the food is reasonably inexpensive, around £5 or £6 for a main dish. Another thing I like about this place - somehow I must have given them my details when I first came here, i.e date of birth and address - so on my birthday, I always get a card through the post from them, and it is always one of those cards that start singing when you open them. Genius.
