I came back about 15 minutes later and ordered a beet smoothie. The staff still seemed overwhelmed and not very friendly. Also to note, their smoothies are $8 and mostly contain fruit and syrup. You can also get bubble or fruit teas here and ice cream. They're outside seating options and plenty of indoor tables and chairs among thriving plants throughout the space. After a long deliberation, I got a carmel sundae. I took about 5 minutes to make and was delicious. My littles got kids scoops in a cone, and they loved it. Their ice cream is really good. Mike immigrated here legally from Albania and became a U.S. citizen, and you can taste the pride he puts into every dish--everything is homemade, even the pasta. I had the spicy chicken arrabbiata with Alfredo sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The homemade garlic knots were mouthwatering, and the salads were fresh and crisp. My friend ordered the shrimp pasta and loved it. I also brought home two pizzas for my family, and they said it was the best pizza they've ever had! The service was excellent, and the restaurant itself is spacious with a great bar area. From now on, Mike's Italian Restaurant will be our go-to spot whenever we're in Baraboo.
