Of course, I get severely upset when visiting pet stores that sell dogs and now can't even look in their windows. You are probably not as sensitive as I am. I have actually shopped here, against my better judgement. I fell in love with a young Syrian (teddy bear) hamster and had to bring her home. Two weeks later, she gave birth to eight pups, because this store apparently can't be bothered to segregate the small animals by sex. I could have just taken the pups back, but I couldn't bear to take them back there, so I separated the boys and girls at hamster puberty and found them homes myself.

Pick-up on weekends is 5-6pm, and they didn't even show up to return her to them until after 6 when they arrived at 5pm. When she went, she was clean, her bowls were clean, and her blanket was freshly washed. They picked her up after a 2-night stay none of her food was gone, none of her treats were given, and her blanket had to be tossed. The blanket smelt so bad of PISS that it took could take your breath away !!! We had to take her for a bath because she smelt like she slept in a puddle of PISS !!! This place has a good rating, but it shouldn't even have a license. If you love your pet, don't take them here. They are not treated as well as the other reviews claim. I feel so sad for her she should have received the PROPER CARE.

I met her later in their journey, at a time when things were already difficult, but she stepped in with a level of compassion, honesty, and professionalism that made all the difference. When the time came to say goodbye, a month apart, she guided us through each decision with empathy and clarity, never rushing us and always prioritizing their comfort and dignity. Losing two pets so close together was heartbreaking, but having a veterinarian who genuinely cared eased that burden more than I can express. I will always be grateful for her kindness, and the way she helped my dogs leave this world peacefully and with love. If you are looking for a veterinarian who combines exceptional medical skills with true compassion, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Amy Kurowski. Michelle Daigle

I walked in to inquire about their services and felt like I was inconveniencing them just to be there. I didn't get much further than that because between the smell of the urine and the nasty attitude of the woman that I was attempting to speak with, it turned me off tremendously. If that wasn't all, you could hear dogs barking consistently as if they were either fighting or not happy to be there at all. I've subsequently had friends try their services only to be equally dissatisfied.

It is a small family owned shop so don't expect much...besides a couple of the largest cats I've ever seen allowed to freely roam the store and wreak havoc on the displays. The owners are very friendly and give out free chicken liver dog treats to anyone with a puppy who comes in (I got about 20 of them and used them to housebreak my dog, nearly housebreak my dog*). I could tell they have years of experience because they gave me advice I have never heard of before (like dont play tug of war with a snub nosed dog breed when it's a puppy or it'll have an ugly ass pitbull underbite). Just conversing and doing business with the owner one-on-one made me regret spending $80 on starter toys and a crate at the walmartish petsmart. Doing business with this family run store had a certain intimacy that a chain or conglomerate could never have. P.S. Bring your pet in with you!! Also they were very honest, I wanted to get many more treats than I got but they made me put them back, insisting that my dog wasn't old enough for them and they could upset his stomach. Very honest people.

In the two months that they lived with us, we were never able to touch her. They pooped and peer all over our home (on our bed and various rugs) despite having three clean litter boxes. We consulted with foster people, our vet, the spca- tried EVERYTHING (feliway, cat attract, containing them in small areas)- whatever was suggested and could not stop the behavior. We called Animal Kind and left messages, trying to get there help. No one called us back. Once someone did actually answer the phone and "understood our concerns." We had to surrender them and I cried for a week. They are back on the website with their same initial and inaccurate description. It was a very traumatic experience for us and most certainly for those poor kitties. I pray someone takes them home. And I will never go to Animal Kind again.

Our poor kitty's gums were fire-truck red! She has since received treatment and is doing better! We also learned that it is not uncommon for sick cats to be adopted out of animal kind. I do not fault the main staff, as they have so many cats that they care for and so few people. I am however disappointed in whoever performed the health check. Any vet that could miss a dental infection like that is either under-informed or negligent as checking a cat's mouth is a very routine part of a check-up. So I do not understand how a vet would miss that without acting out of either ignorance or negligence. I sincerely hope they do better going forward
