A few years ago, I asked for recommendation for heating/AC installs. We went with Rood Inc and…read morepaid for a 10 year warranty. They needed to come out because we had a water leak coming from the ceiling. They went inside the unit and found the "side of the flimsy water tray had fallen down" They used a piece of wood found in the attic to prop the side back up. I already had the ladder set-up so the total time from arrival to problem solved was 10 minutes. For those 10 minutes, I was charged a $90 diagnostic fee, a $155 travel charge, and a $105 "miscellaneous Repair" charge. With tax, the total was $376.79. They told me they would wave the fuel surcharge of $35 on top of these costs. That seems a bit high to me. Am I being unrealistic as to what things cost these days or did I make a mistake having my HVAC unit installed by Rood?

That led me to believe they would call back or come over. Neither happened. On that Monday, I got a call from the office and they said they don't have any appointments available until that Wednesday. If you aren't going to provide services on the weekends, just tell people the office is closed until Monday and will call you back then rather than lying to people.
