Took a very expensive pair of shoes in to have heels rebuilt and resoled. Asked for full leather…read morework and quoted £35 for 6 leather heel builds and 2 leather soles. When picked up they had rubber soles and heels covers. Was fed some rubbish about how these were there to protect the new leather and that shoes don't breathe through leather soles anyway! Several top shoe makers say very differently. On closer inspection the heels had been filled only, with nice soft rubber and through the holes in the soles saw nice new black rubber. The rubber wasn't there to protect the new leather at all. it was there to hide the fact that there was no leather. Leather soled shoes ARE healthier for feet but not very good at hiding bodge jobs. To add insult to serious injury there were nicks out of the uppers that were clearly done whilst trimming the rubber soles, though these had been nicely hidden with polish or blacker. Basically charged a fortune for a job that was knowingly bodged using the cheapest possible materials, fed a packet of lies about the job and damaged a £120 pair of shoes in the process. The bag came out looking brand new, at a fraction of the price it would have cost me to replace. Have also taken several several boots of mine in the past for new soles and heels and once again they have delivered with an excellent job. Would highly recommend to anyone, is worth the visit as they have a huge selection of stock and services available too!

I've had this watch for a year, and worn it whilst swimmin, showering and doing the dishes and like it says on the face: it's been water resistant. Obviously, after replacing the battery the guy forgot to seal it properly. I figured that mistakes happen and so I went back to the shop. The three guys working there, including the one who had changed the battery, were all rude and un-cooperative. They tried to tell me that it was my fault, and that the water losing its waterproof status immediately after they dealt with it was a coincidence. They offered to dry it for me, for a fee. Outraged, I went to the jewellery shop nearby and told them what had happened. They agreed that the staff in Timpsons had messed up and obviously, just didn't want to claim responsibility. They said that it was a good thing I'd come into them so soon as the water could have done lasting damage. They also said that it was obvious from looking at it that they'd broken the seal, not bothered to close it properly and just didn't want to take the blame. They dried it for me, right then and there, for free. Definitely not going back.
