Jose Brito was very responsive. In December, he returned my call promptly and submitted a quote within days. He was equally responsive two days before the event. Their service was impeccable. The drives were punctual, even in the inclement weather, their uniforms were clean and they were immensely polite and professional. They even helped some of our guests in with their packages (above and beyond). We are extremely grateful that Mr. Brito was able to accommodate us on very short notice. I wanted to purchase alcohol that the bartender best works with. The owner Angela said no again and then went on saying I was requesting additional stuff. She wanted the payment to be the end of our conversation. She wanted me to pay her and not ask further questions. I then asked if I could get my money back, as I didn't want to do business with her anymore. She then went on and said she could care less and if I wanted my money back my husband would have to contact her. After that she blocked me. I then began to panic and I worried that she wouldn't refund me my money back. Keep in mind that I am already dealing with all the stress that comes from planning an event. I am also pregnant so this was definitely a terrible thing to have experienced. I then asked my husband to reach out to her. Only then did she decide to refund me my money back. Moral of the story, don't book with them. Its better to book with someone who actually cares about their clients.

They offered a time for a walk through and assistance with setup the day before, which made the day of the wedding so much less stressful. They take care of EVERYTHING; set up, tear down, linens, place settings, table numbers, water, wine, changing courses, bridal suite, the bar, you name it! We just had to walk in and enjoy. The food was restaurant-quality - no banquet halls here! Many people emphatically said that was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. The menu tasting was a wonderful experience guided by the Chief of Staff, and included a personal visit from the chef near the end. There are many great food and wine options, it was hard to limit ourselves to just a few! The staff was very helpful in accommodating our guests with dietary restrictions and allergies; if one of the food choices would not work, they created a special alternative dish for them at no extra charge. They were so organized, they even remembered to not drizzle honey on one of our guest's dessert. I checked with every single one of our guests who needed an accommodation, and every single one was fulfilled. We even had a guest who was arriving late; his food was kept warm and brought out immediately when he arrived. As the bride and groom, we got to sit at the head table with our personal Head Waiter, Justin, who was awesome. He made sure our water and wine glasses were always full, and would personally deliver them to us throughout the night whether we were chatting at a table or in the middle of the dance floor. He said he was there if we needed anything, and he always jumped in to help with a smile. Our guests repeatedly told us how beautiful, elegant, and classy the venue was. The Tiffany Room and first floor galleries were the perfect setup for cocktail hour, and everyone loved the gorgeous glasswork (and open bar). The Wisteria room, bathed in candlelight, with a view of the Chicago Skyline, was perfect for dinner and dancing. The staff was professional and helpful, and the entire event ran smoothly. We specifically wanted a venue that would "do it all" so we didn't have to, and Halim Time and Glass Museum absolutely delivered. Here is my breakdown of my experience with The Metropolis Ballroom: Planner Extraordinaire - Lauren Lauren is a very friendly and professional Planner. She is very organized and open when getting in contact with her. She gave us the feeling that everything would be taken care of which it was. She helped us go through the steps also helped us organize on how the procession would occur during our special day. Due to some circumstances, she was unable to see the culmination of her work with us but she made sure we were taken care of for the big day. Venue The Metropolis Ballroom venue makes up the whole 2nd floor of the building. They have elevator access to the 2nd floor. There is a bridal suite which as access to the balcony. There is an axillary room across the bridal suite which the cocktail hour is help. There are plenty of room along with comfortable seating areas. The main reception hall has a nice open space with a high ceiling, for to which we had 12 tables and enough room for a dance floor. The balcony is also accessible from the main reception area and allows you to enjoy part of downtown Arlington Heights where a fountain is visible and if you have your wedding at a certain time, you can have an appearance of Santa Claus in in the grassy area across the way. The staff had placed some outdoor activities if we chose to go out (i.e. cornhole). they had some They also had some tables and lighting outside in case they guest would like to step out and enjoy the great weather we had during our wedding. Staff The Metropolis Ballroom has a wonderful staff that made our wedding day very special. Even though Lauren was unable to be at the wedding, we felt we were very taken care of from the whole staff. Kenny was really helpful in coordinating with everyone. He was also the go to person for the head table whenever we needed anything. The wait staff is really extraordinary. I really have to tip my hat off to all of them. Each were very friendly and also attentive. The bartender was friendly and did a great job keeping the party going. Everyone made us feel welcomed. The kitchen did a wonderful job with the food for our wedding. I even had a lot of people comment on how they really enjoyed the food. To me, the preparation and taste was perfect. We had some people who had some dietary issues which they did accommodated for. The kids seem to really enjoy the food that they got, even giving some of the adults at their table jealous. Food You do have different options on how to proceed with how the food come out. We choose to have each person have a plated service compared to a buffet style reception. I am going to bring some highlights of the food we got. Roasted tomato soup chaser - a very well done soup accompanied with a mini grilled cheese. Chicken breast Champagne - recommended as one of the more popular dishes and there is a reason why. The chicken is moist and accompanied with a wonderful sauce which goes with a lot of the sides. Carrot Cake - a very well done carrot cake. The cake itself is moist and the frosting was perfectly balanced. It is one of my favorite carrot cakes I have eaten. All of the other food we got were delicious also, but I am unable to go through them all due to the limit on what I can type. Overall My experience was extraordinary. To me the whole company did a wonderful job in making my wedding reception special. From the planning to the actual event was a great experience. Though I have not attended any other events at the Metropolis Ballroom, I would recommend planning there for special occasions. With the care and details they worked with us during our special day, it was a pleasure working with them.
