Our experience with Key Remodeling & Design was incredible for our waterfront home in Sarasota. It…read morewas difficult to find a general contractor for our bathroom remodeling projects, and we talked to quite a few that either didn't have any vision or didn't get back to us. Red flags. With Nicholas, from the very first contact he was attentive, communicative, and did what he said he was going to do. Our first meeting I took without my wife due to a conflict, and afterwards I confidently told my wife, "I think you are really going to like him." Nicholas came back, we had another meeting--and I was right. He made us feel comfortable and confident and we were ready to start after that meeting. We really loved both of our bathroom remodels. They came out like something out of a magazine to be honest. We were so unsure about how we would pick the right tile or the right paint--so many choices and we were a bit overwhelmed, but Nicholas assured us that he would support us and would help with the design to ensure our vision came to life. We went to the showroom and honestly, it was so easy I was shocked how fast we were able to pick out the right materials. We couldn't have done better with the tile selections and the countertops. We love them. We thought we needed an interior designer, but we didn't. We just needed to trust Key Remodeling & Design. I think the attention to detail and software that Key uses helps keep track of things and really keeps the project running smoothly with deadlines, details, and documentation. We were impressed at the attention to detail and the craftsmanship, especially from Key's tile installer, Tony. The mitering job he did on the tile in both bathrooms to avoid using schluter was fantastic. We honestly would highly recommend spending a little more for this detail. The whole team we met and worked with from Key was amazing and friendly. Nicholas also went above and beyond to move a hideous vent from the middle of our bathroom wall that multiple companies told us couldn't be moved. He knew that we hated it and he surprised us and handled it while we were out of town. His team found a way to handle it and put it up in the ceiling where it belonged! He did not have to do this and didn't commit to do this, but he really listened to us and made a mental note for a later date. This is when I really knew that we made the right choice. It's really the little things. The best compliment I think I could give Nicholas is that he is the best communicator I have ever dealt with. I think that his attention to detail along with his integrity and willingness to make sure we are happy is what sets him apart from everyone else. Also, with any construction project, issues may arise. Anytime an issue came up, it was swiftly taken care of and THAT is not something you find in a lot of companies. The Key team went above and beyond to make our bathrooms absolutely amazing. We will not be looking around for a new contractor for our upcoming kitchen remodel. We'll be using Key Remodeling & Design with zero hesitation.

Troy had 2 guys do the entire job not once checking on the work being done. We had a bathtub installed and the workers somehow installed the tub without cutting into any wall to hook up the drain. The first time we used the tub it leaked to our downstairs and we called Troy who told us it wasn't the tub. When he finally came out to look at the job it was determine his workers never hooked up the drain correctly when I poured water down the drain and it went all over Troy who was on a ladder in my ceiling . Two years later we have a leak again, this time much worse. The workers installed the faucet incorrectly (confirmed by 2 plumbers) and Troy says it's a faulty faucet (does this guy take any responsibility for the work his guys do). Not too mention when they did the work his driver ran over our backflow with a trailer shooting water everywhere(which my neighbor saw happen) that both the driver and Troy denied. Also the grout in tub started falling apart 3 months after the job was done. We are having to spend more money to fix the incompetent remodel that was done than it cost to do the remodel itself. After running over our backflow, not hooking up the drain causing a leak and not hooking up the faucet correctly you would think they would help resolve the issue. However , they are refusing to accept any responsibility and at this point its not even surprising. I have a 12 year old child who takes responsibility for his actions better than the adults that run this horrible business. I wish I would have never had this company do any work on my home. We are still getting mold testing and mold mitigation issues resolved and who know the cost or even worse the health issues this has caused my family.
