This business moved to county rt 64 and has a very nice store layout. The problem is they don't have much of anyone working there. I stopped in to return my brothers equipment and it took 35 minutes of waiting in line. People were spread out through the store, most complaining of how long g it was taking to get service. I switched to Empire years ago and after my visit to Spectrum I know I made the right choice. Avoid thus business if you can. read more

If they weren't the only cable tv provider in the area, I'd switch in a hot minute. Horrible service... the app works better than the cable box... and sometimes that doesn't work... time after time they send out a tech and it's good for a month or 2, then same thing...cheap equipment & lousy service at a ridiculous price! This is a postscript to the review I left two days ago... after reading other negative comments and ratings I was surprised at the number of users who think that they have no other options than Spectrum. I had Empire internet installed for $30 less a month than the Spectrum internet alone price! When I likely upgrade to the TV package in the Fall, I can expect a nearly $50 savings all told. The icing on the cake is that Empire was recently named the fastest internet provider. There are some areas where they are not yet available but are growing almost as fast as their internet speeds! read more

Spectrum is by far the worst it company available. Best part is when you cancel them and they continue charging you. I paid my final month bill to wake up and see more charges from spectrum. This is after they were supposed to have cleared my credit card info. They cant tell me what the money is for and yet refuse to credit back the money. They are fighting with my cc company over the charges that they have no clue why they charged me. This company is a scam. read more

I have a problem with my DVR, I think. Any program that I have recorded freezes many times. sometimes for several seconds and I miss what the people are saying or doing. I have called several times and was told that It had to be acting up when they are here (it is intermittent) or they can't do anything to fix it. so I guess I am stuck with it forever. read more

If I could I would give Spectrum less than one star. HOWEVER, the people who work in the Horseheads, NY office, and who were working there before the cable service became Spectrum, Time Warner Cable and Paragon Cable, are wonderful and should be commended for their work. read more

My husband waited in line for 15 minutes today before asking if one of the 3 employees could help the people waiting in line... there were 5 people in line at this time. One employee said you can pay your bill by mail or on line then walked away! Finally an employee did help the fist person in line, my hubby was next, but the employee decided to walk away from the counter for at least another 5 minutes. Then came back and took our payment. Time Warner has a monopoly in the elmira area. Unfortunately, this exclusivity leads to an unprecedented arrogance. Their service is as bad as can be imagined. Multiple times a day, the service is interrupted and devices need to be reset. The speeds are volatile and not consistent, and their prices are outrageous for the service provided. If there were another option, I, and every other sane Chemung County resident, would be switching. read more

Believe me the only reason I have Spectrum is because of their monopoly in the Elmira area. I would go with another cable company in a second if there was one that serviced the Elmira area, I dont understand how one can be watching a station at 7am and two hours later it states on TV screen the station is unavailable! When I was just watching it two hours prior! I think it is outrageous what they charge for their cable packages especially just the basic cable. Not happy with this cable service at all. NY commissioners threw them out for their fraud! No regrets believe me. Less than one star! I've had no internet for a month now, techs don't show up, no one calls back. First appointment this time August 30, no one came, no one called. 2nd appt. tech came, left 1 hour later back out. 3rd appt. "Quality control tech", left, 1 hour later back out. Now no one can come until Tuesday the 17th. They have NO clue what they're doing! I got rid of phone and cable, unfortunately there's no other option for internet. Horrible, horrible, rotten company. When I signed up for Spectrum (the only internet provider in South Corning - therefore they hold a monopoly on the area and are able to price gauge customers) I signed up for 2 years (24 months) at a promo rate. They raised my bill by $20/mo after the first 12 months. No where in the initial paperwork did I see this, nor was I notified ahead of the steep increase in price. When calling to dispute this I was told that there was nothing they could do to honor the initial promo. I had to lower the speed of my internet by 75% in order to maintain the same price I am paying for only another 12 months. After this I was told my bill would be double what it is now. While the customer service rep was nice, this is outrageous and unacceptable. Friends and family members have warned me that Spectrum is a crooked company, but now I am experiencing this first hand. I cannot wait until Empire expands their internet service in Corning. I will switch over immediately. Good job keeping loyal customers Spectrum (extreme sarcasm). You suck! Potential customers, if you are able to choose another provider where you live, I strongly advise you to do so. read more

Horrible horrible service!! The fiber optic internet is great but almost not worth the awful service. It really deserves negative 2 stars but that is not an option. My husband and I recently moved here and we had to pay out of pocket close to $3K to have fiber ran to our house. The tech came out and installed the cable and then ran a line above ground right across our driveway and up the hill. He did not bury it...he said he would be back with some conduit for the driveway. Its 16 days later and the line is still running across my driveway. If you call and talk to customer service they give you a huge run around...then "promise" to call you back with a solution and never call. We have had 5 scheduled appointments to have our line buried and each one they just didnt show up!!!! they didnt call to reschedule...they just simply didnt show up. Horrible awful service!! If there wasnt a monopoly I would tell everyone to never ever work with this group. worst experience ever and still dealing with it. read more
