Can't recommend Captain Gordon, Christie, and Pari enough!!!!! I've gotten 20 piercings and 2 tattoos done by Time Bomb since 2019 and have had nothing but amazing experiences every single visit. Can't forget to mention that their shop is filled with the "Curiosities" portion which will entertain you for hours. I spot new trinkets and oddities every time I'm there. If I had to use one word to describe operations it would be "CLEAN". Their sanitation protocols are beyond medical standards and the term "professionalism" would be an understatement. Even as a seasoned piercing client, they're all still diligent in ensuring I'm updated and informed on aftercare practices as well. Advanced piercings, helix, lobe, and nipples, a wrist tattoo, and spine piece later, I'll always chose Time Bomb as my body mod providers. A full bodysuit tattoo piece is in the near future, and I can't wait!!!! I would and still do recommend Time Bomb to everyone I come across. They take cleanliness and sanitation to a new level and it helps make the experience feel safe and cared for Artists: My piercers were Alden, Jasper, Christie, Captain, and Pari, tattoo artists are John and Captain. I'd recommend all of them, although Pari was supernaturally fast with her piercing experience (3 helix's). No joke, it took under 5 minutes to place, prep, pierce, and clean up. The piercings themselves took maybe a minute and a half. Unreliable! after waiting a month to get in for a tattoo, they canceled my appointment the day of, rescheduled me for two days later, only to call an hour before my rescheduled appointment to cancel again. i refuse to continue re-arranging my life for a studio that has unreliable artists! Husband and I got matching tattoos together with Parrish. First time at Time Bomb and we will definitely return again! Pro's -VERY CLEAN environment -The shop is very unique, orderly, and neat -Parking garage is in the rear with a short walk or street parking available. -COVID safe! Very specific protocols in the shop. You have to call first before arrival, wash your hands at the touchless sink, and soap dispenser. Masks are a must. -Parrish was gentle not heavy on the hand, very accommodating, and patient. From the easy to fill out inquiry form to the quick responses from the friendly and helpful staff who manage the shop to the actual experience of getting tattooed by Chris - everything was fantastic. I've been wanting to get this Coheed and Cambria inspired tattoo for a while, and Chris came up with a design that exceeded my expectations. I came to the store because a friend told me I would love the items that they sell there, and ready to make a a few appointments to get piercing and other things done, one guy that was at the register he try to be polite as he could be, responded to my questions and right when I was ready to spend a few thousand dollars on some items, the Lady came to me and with an attitude she said I needed to move to the side because other people were also trying to make appointments like I was not doing the same thing..... I waited, the guy just ignored me after that, I went around to try to talk to the woman and ignored me like no one was speaking to her and I took it as a hit, they did not want me there, I was the only person who was not white, I am not into blaming on color but I took it from that with the way she pushed me to the side so the other people were more of a priority than me, because I was ready to put $5,000 in a few items I saw. I waited and stood there and I got ignored also I though of maybe not kid friendly. But I wonder if maybe it was just me for not being a white person.... She had gloves, grabbed me with her gloves than she threw it in the trash right after she ruddle pushed me. Well, it's too bad, the store had really cool items, expensive but cool enough that when I want something I would not mind spending money on things. From my very first email inquiry, straight through to my tattoo, my experience was exceptional. The staff eased communication between myself and Makoto so that I was able to easily submit my ideas and wishes, which Makoto then carefully worked into the design I dreamt about. The session itself was an intense (for me) 5ish hours, but a reflection of their seriousness and intensity as an artist. They took care to check in often on my thoughts on progress and adjustments, but truly, I felt so comfortable and confident in the artist's skill and comprehension of my intent that I think I left all decisions to them. The final result, though not finished, is exquisite line work and the boldness and movement that I most wanted. **This is a piercing review** I recently brought my 10 year old in to get her ears pierced, and also got a nose piercing for myself. Christie was our piercer, and she was absolutely amazing! She was great with my daughter and both her and my experience were fantastic. I definitely recommend Christie for all of your piercing needs! The front desk staff was also extremely friendly and very helpful with selecting jewelry, and the shop is really cool. I also appreciated the extra precautions they are taking due to the pandemic. So I've now had a piercing done by Jasper, and a Tattoo done by Collin ! Both were super nice, knowledgeable and I definitely felt like they had my best interest in mind to give me a quality piercing/tattoo. The front staff is also incredibly friendly, all the jewelry they have on display is insane. There's designs I've never seen available for nose rings, septum, plugs/tunnels/weights. If I ever have the money, I would love one of those prices but they are kind of pricey. I did admittedly have one bad experience three years ago - a guest artist was incredibly rude and I was stupid to not just walk out, and was left with some wonky line work that faded in spots immediately. They have the craziest collection of all sorts of curiosities with a heavy focus on double-headed animals. They are all for sale and come with a unique story of origin the kind girl behind the counter was willing to give us. The way they had these animals dressed was so unique and quite humorous! They also have some ladies accessories like Ouija board purses and jewelry of all kinds. They have kitschy grab and go items such as tattoo greeting cards as well. My two little girls and I didn't feel like outcasts coming in and just checking out the front of house as if it were a museum. I had a great experience with Time Bomb's tattoo artist, Colin. My friend and I wanted a simple pineapple tattoo about 2 inches in length. Colin sat down with us and sketched it exactly how we pictured it, and then proceeded to get to work. He was very detail oriented and focused, but also friendly and sociable the entire time. His easy-going personality made the process a lot more bearable. A month or two after the initial tattoo was finished (by the way, it turned out great!), I did notice that it could use just a slight touch-up with some of the green ink. Colin was happy to touch it up free of charge and he was just as excellent the second time around. Although I only got a small piece of work done, I would absolutely recommend him for any large pieces you are considering. The overall service of Time Bomb was also impressive. I appreciated the way we collaborated together to make my vision into reality and how he added his professional advice along the way. The place is super clean and professional with computer equipment that made my design exactly how I wanted it. He was very clear in the aftercare instructions. Everything is super sanitized there and the environment is relaxed and not pretentious. Makoto also was very reasonable in his pricing. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Without a doubt, this is the best tattoo shop I have ever been to. I had a walk-in and saw Miranda for a small one that took under an hour just to see if I liked the shop. I got some work done this afternoon by Chris. Overall he did an excellent job and his rates are more reasonable than most. I'll wait to see how it looks after healing, but I'm happy. Only downside I would say is that getting a response back via email takes a while- sometimes a day or two. My 10 year had her ears pierced for the first time there and it was an awful experience. My daughter was terrified and the piercer had no patience for my daughter. The piercer was unkind and stern right when we first walked in. She even glared at my daughter and rolled her eyes at her several times because my daughter was nervous and crying. It was supposed to be a nice first experience of getting your very first ears pierced and we spent so much money to get the best experience, but this person made the entire moment and memory awful. All she had to do was be a little more kind and patient or at least know how to work with children to make it a better first experience, she literally set the mood/tone the first minute and ruined everything. I should have gone to our Pediatrician rather than pay all that money for such an awful experience. We definitely will never return. read more

From the moment you step in front of the charming Downtown Historic Frederick location of Time Bomb Tattoos and Curiosities, you are greeted by a steampunk Giraffe named Nigel. As you enter, you are greeted by a warm welcome by one of the front desk counter employees. They were busy but someone was there to at least ask me what I needed help with. I went in to get my eyebrow, helix, and 2 lobe piercings done. The piercing process was very smooth and easy going. All my piercings were being re-pierced so I knew it was going to hurt more. When I actually got everything pierced, it didn't hurt anywhere near as much as I thought. Personally, I've never been tattooed at Time Bomb. Based off of my research of the artists, I would definitely trust a few of the artists in the photorealistic style that I prefer. If you are looking for any cool oddities or gifts, their retail side has a pretty vast selection of awesome products. Definitely highly recommend. read more

Loved my experience! Got my second tattoo done here today and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I emailed numerous tattoo places looking for honestly the cheapest place and I'm so glad I didn't find it. During my research I started looking into artist and decided to go somewhere with a person in mind. I found Sarah's portfolio online and loved her work but she was booking weeks out and I wanted this tattoo prior to my trip. While messaging this place I asked if anyone had availability this weekend and they said James had openings. I checked out his Instagram (@jam_ohan_) and saw he had a similar look to Sarah's with many Disney pieces. I also loved his calligraphy tattoos. He is currently a guest artist at time bomb and I highly recommend trying to get in with him. My 3 friends and I stumbled upon this establishment while on our way home from a long journey. While riding, we all decided we wanted piercings so we made a pit stop in search of the nearest tattoo shop. From the moment we stepped in, the vibe was just great. Everyone was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable as we decided where we wanted our piercings. I got a conch and forward helix piercing, one friend got a daith piercing, one a conch, and the other got her jewelry switched out. The person who pierced us was Tom and he was amazing!! He was very friendly and made the environment very comfortable. The piercing area was clean and all the tools were sterile. Anytime Tom touched something (cabinet door, etc) he would change his gloves. Tom laughed and joked with us the entire time and gave off nothing but good energy and positive vibes. When my friend was hunting for a tattoo artist in October for a rib piece, the attitudes of the people in Classic Electric and Black Label were a real turn-off. By chance, we spotted Time Bomb, gave them a shot, and she got a gorgeous piece for a wicked reasonable price on a difficult area. Fast forward a few months, and after surviving two months of nearly dying, I was given some money by friends to go ink my courage and determination on my skin. So I went to Time Bomb. Colin, my artist, was incredible polite, friendly, and calm. He worked with me to get the placement just right, listened to my nattering about the history of the 18th century scribal hand I'd chosen for my Hamilton tattoo (because not only am I a music nerd, I'm a PhD student, which means I'm incapable of talking about normal things), and talked me through the process. The end result is stunning. The ink is crisp, the placement is perfect, and I am in love with the whole experience. He charged $125 an hour, and for that price, I have an amazing piece of art on my skin to testify to my survival and my will to carry on. The whole staff is fantastic; they don't try to upsell you on after care supplies, and they really work with you to make sure you walk out of the shop with exactly the art you want on your body. As a queer woman with disabilities, I never felt out of place. Everyone was kind, considerate, warm, and welcoming. Don't let the weird decor fool you. This is like getting a tattoo done by a friend who has been waiting to make a beautiful mark on your life. I'll be returning for my next piece, no question about it. read more

My two best friends and I originally walked into Classic Electric Tattoo, but promptly left due to the employees' bad attitudes. We walked across the street to Time Bomb on a recommendation from another lady in the waiting room at CE, and I am so happy we did! We were greeted with a smile by Ava, and everyone there seemed genuinely happy to be there. The shop itself was filled with fabulous steampunk and sideshow curiosities, which were fun to window shop at while we waited. My two friends got their first ever tattoos with Brad, who was polite and professional, he did an amazing job with both of their pieces! I got a unicorn side piece from Collin, who was an absolute delight! The tattoo was not my first, but it was definitely my biggest to date, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. He put me at ease from the get go, and was funny, sweet, and very talented (and "ruggedy handsome for a beardless lumberjack", which he insisted I include :P).
