I just finished a full sleeve project with Joe DeJoya, and the whole experience was great. I got to a point where I was looking forward to not only getting the tattoo work done, but also to hanging out at the shop. Joe was amazing. The sleeve turned out better than I had dared imagine. We did a traditional Japanese dragon and had a challenging previous tattoo to cover, and the result is stunning. Over a 7 month period, Joe transformed my left arm into a piece of beautiful art. I am so proud to wear the result every day, and I look forward to planning the right arm with him. When we finished, it was actually kind of bittersweet. It felt great to be done, but I will miss spending regular time there watching the piece develop. I have found the perfect place to continue this journey, and I feel that there is an artist at Damascus who is a great fit for every style, and the environment there is one that really communicates how well the staff supports each other. They seem to genuinely act as a family. The way they check out each others work, the way they collaborate, the banter throughout the day, the sense of community at lunch - not only are the artists amazing at what they do, they do it in an environment that is a real pleasure to be in. I simply cannot recommend Damascus Tattoo Company, and specifically Joe DeJoya highly enough.

Can't recommend Captain Gordon, Christie, and Pari enough!!!!!…read moreI've gotten 20 piercings and 2 tattoos done by Time Bomb since 2019 and have had nothing but amazing experiences every single visit. Can't forget to mention that their shop is filled with the "Curiosities" portion which will entertain you for hours. I spot new trinkets and oddities every time I'm there. If I had to use one word to describe operations it would be "CLEAN". Their sanitation protocols are beyond medical standards and the term "professionalism" would be an understatement. Even as a seasoned piercing client, they're all still diligent in ensuring I'm updated and informed on aftercare practices as well. Advanced piercings, helix, lobe, and nipples, a wrist tattoo, and spine piece later, I'll always chose Time Bomb as my body mod providers. A full bodysuit tattoo piece is in the near future, and I can't wait!!!! I would and still do recommend Time Bomb to everyone I come across. Services: Ear piercing, Color ink tattoos, Tattoo aftercare, Piercings, Tattoo design, Female tattoos, Tattoos Requested style: Custom, easy to heal, low maintenance, and consultation in placement were all part of the process in piercing and tattoo decisions. Their team of professionals were able to answer all my questions and give sound advice in how I'd experience and heal from the new pieces. Cleanliness: I've walked into doctor's offices less clean than Time Bomb's shop. They take cleanliness and sanitation to a new level and it helps make the experience feel safe and cared for Artists: My piercers were Alden, Jasper, Christie, Captain, and Pari, tattoo artists are John and Captain. I'd recommend all of them, although Pari was supernaturally fast with her piercing experience (3 helix's). No joke, it took under 5 minutes to place, prep, pierce, and clean up. The piercings themselves took maybe a minute and a half. Both Pari and Christie made the piercings hurt less than expected and have such a skilful and delicate touch that they're experts in their industry.

Seth was remarkably patient and worked with me to meet my requests on every last detail (size, aspect ratio, position, ink). (Embarrassingly, I asked him if we could move the template we transferred onto my skin 5 times for one tattoo, having to wipe it away and reapply it. It would have driven basically anyone crazy, but Seth was laid-back and understanding throughout.) The price was also very reasonable. As others have mentioned the private studio was clean and seemed well organized. Honestly, vibe at the studio is not something I care about (I just want a great looking, safe tattoo), but it did have a nice feel. In my case, I wanted something very specific (and relatively simple), rather than something creative from the artist. I got exactly what I wanted, and it looks perfect. Since this was my first, Seth also explained every step of the process to me as we went. In terms of safety, I saw all his new, packaged needles. (One thing I didn't verify was how he sterilized any reusable parts. ...something you could do yourself if you're inclined.) I'll definitely return to Seth for any future tattoos.

He was also beyond inviting of me (a new client) that my buddy James had recommended! I had to reschedule a month in advances from my original appointment (ahead of 48 hrs) and literally there was a cancellation the following weekend and he was able to fit me in! He came up with the design when I gave him my vision and I am so impressed and happy with the outcome. It took 5.5 hours but the price was way cheaper than I was expecting it to be. Also shoutout to Casey, the owner, we were laughing and having a great time while she was there and her studio is so beautiful and very home-like and open. She was working on another client and we finished around the same time his tattoo looked amazing as well! Also, the other artist Ryan, he did a half sleeve while I was there and it looked so bad@ss and he too was so kind to me and he's also very good looking Overall, the location, the price, the quality, the service, the everything is top notch at this location! I loved every second from communication, to receiving service, to just feeling relaxed and comfortable. If I could give any advice, I would recommend getting a different type of saniderm aftercare bandage wrap. Mine came off that day after sweating (dancing at the club). I came back the next day and they gave me two patches just in case it came off. The bandages I've had at other places never came off at sweating or even taking a shower.

I got a large thigh piece that spanned two sessions for a total of 9 hours. Casey was so warm and welcoming through the entire process. She clearly listened during my consultation and when I showed up at the first session her artwork was way better than I could have imagined. I threw a LOT at her to incorporate and she did it beautifully! Getting the actual tattoo was such a comfortable experience both sessions. She is kind, funny, and constantly checking in with you to make sure you're ok (and numbing you when you might not be lol). It's also clear she fosters a warm and welcoming vibe in her shop and it shows with how friendly the rest of the artists are as well. I'd happily spend another 9 hours in her tattoo chair and would love to do one of her intuitive tattoos in the future!

Everyone here is as good as it gets. Both men and women artists here take their jobs seriously and kick every tattoo right in the ass. I don't think I'm 7 years of being tattoo'd that I've wanted to be in a shop so often. You're in an old Victorian style mansion with giant glass windows in the middle of downtown Frederick, Maryland, enjoying life and getting tattoo'd. 10/10 experience. I personally go to Matt Torres @tengutorres on Instagram. My opinion, which is why you're here anyways, is that Matt is the best Japanese artist in the DMV. Out of all the artists I've been too, he cares the most about his customers. If you don't want a big traditional Japanese tattoo, maybe stop reading and go to another very talented artist in the shop (literally anyone, even their apprentice kicks ass) but if you do want something like this, Matt is it man. You get a zoom meeting to plan, you work together, he plans it out, he shows up early every time, he's ready. He studies his work, he studies the Japanese tattooing style, he reads up. You know what you're getting is better than the next and feel better self confidence wise. I promise you will never be disappointed in Matt's booth.

Not sure how I mixed this up. I remember I was devoriced or on my way to getting one when I got the third tattoo* 10/13/20 This Tattoo place use to be located at 940 bonifant st, silver spring, md 20910.  This is the tattoo location I went to incase this place does not remember me. (I will add my photo after work today) However, as Silver Spring has changed and grown from the hoodlum it was, to the new upper class area, many businesses have moved to other locations or shutdown for good. Ambrotos Tattoos in Silver Spring is where I aquired my second tattoo.  I showed up to this place on a spur of the moment... okay I called to find out when the opened on a certain day ahead of time. Anyhow, I showed up with no real preparation on what I wanted.  I looked around for awhile bouncing around ideas, until I found a picture of fairly with her wings spread. The idea of having another fox on my upper arm  came to mind.  This fox would on mountain top with a few apples near it. The fox is reaching for another apple. There would be a waterfall near it too. Waterfalls are something I have always liked since I was a kid. The tattoo artist I believe had red hair and was cool dude. He had a lot of patience with what I wanted to get done.  Any tattoo artist will tell you this is serious life choice. Once the tattoo is on your skin, removing it can be more costly than keeping it. Can be painful and unsightly  to remove it too. Both he and I understood this without having to say anything about that. As we talked, I found out he once worked at a tattoo place called Inkers Tattoo.  I found out he trained a girl...woman  named Ashley. (I HOPE I GOT HER NAME RIGHT) I did get the feeling they may have had a falling out.   Nevertheless,   I found it interesting that the person giving me my second tattoo would be the trainer of the person who gave me my first tattoo. Watching the set up of clean and sterile equipment. I watched as the needle scraped against my skin.  Personally the pain was pretty much nonexistent.  However as the needle  crept up to my chest, I could feel how painful it would be if I did get a chest tattoo. The mythical animal I call The Bellfox  is rarly seen by people with its wings.    The whole process of getting this tattoo was about 2 hours. The shading wasn't bad either.   The healing process wasn't as bad thos time around, because I now knew what to expect.  A+D First Aid Skin Ointment helped a great deal. I also used lotion, but I won't say which kind. The tattoo artist  at whichever place you go to will advise you what to get.   Your paying good money to get a tattoo from them so listing to their advise on the healing process is advised.   Not to jump off topic, but I will for a moment.  A guy once told me he had gotten a tattoo once. He later on that day went for a swim in a swimming pool and list all the color off of his tattoo. The guy had to get his tattoo redone again.  He was lucky his tattoo did not get infected too. I remember the guy telling me that if I ever get a tattoo, I should listen to what they say about the healing process and don't be a moron like him. Well I listen to what the tattoo artist told me and the itchy feeling of my arm/shoulder healed in no time.  I would like to thank this guy for the tattoo this guy did. If there was anything I would want changed about the tattoo,  it would be to add more water. Maybe one day I might have the artwork on both my tattoos updated with more water, but we will have to see. Maybe if I winner $100,000.00 I'll do it.
