This has to be the hardest working barber anywhere. Diane had a line of customers when we showed up for a summer trim. She did a great job of taking care of us and everyone else that walked in. My son is particularly picky about his hair cuts and always walks away happy here. The shop is modest, no frills but the cut is professional and well worth the money. read more

Needed a trim before a meeting and Timberline was recommended by the bellman at Arabelle with the caveat that the place isn't much to look at. Timberline appears to be a one-person operation and the woman running it was as engrossed in daytime talk shows as she was with cutting my hair. No personality there but that's ok, I was there for a quick cut, not to make friends. The shop itself would benefit from a serious facelift or at the very least a thorough cleaning but the haircut was actually pretty good, and that's what I came for. read more

This rating reflects the work of employee Gloria, not the other employees at Timberline Gloria, has cut my hair for the last time. Every time she cuts my hair I give her simple instructions which she is incapable of following. It doesn't matter if I point out, explain or describe what I want, I always seem to leave with something resembling a bowl cut. I would have stopped getting my hair cut by her sooner, but lately she is the employee working the most and my schedule isn't flexible enough to plan my visits while others are working. The shop's right down the street from where I live and is a convenient option, but given the price Gloria's work is substandard. I've received haircuts from other employees and they have done a fantastic job. It's unfortunate the shop is being brought down by her poor workmanship and attitude. read more

I am very disappointed my last review got filtered. This shop does not deserve a 1 star rating. I was visiting Vail a month ago and got my hair cut here again: new faces but same great service. It's a good barber shop run by friendly barbers who give quality haircuts. My favorite part is getting my neck shaved with a straight razor after every cut, for no extra charge. read more

Timberline does not even deserve one star. It was by far the dirtiest, filthiest barber shop I have ever been to. There was hair all over the floor by the chairs. I looked like the place hadn't been swept all day long. The seat was torn and dirty. There was hair all over the counter. The cloth they covered me with looked like it hadn't been washed at all. They used the same cloth for each customer, without even cleaning it. Who knows when or if the combs, brushes and trimmers were ever cleaned. Stay away, far, far away. read more

I just left this place. I left the mountain early to get a haircut. I showed up at 333 pm and online it says they close at 4. There was 1 guy getting his haircut who was clearly just about to be done. The older blonde lady who works there was sour and hollered "we're closed; come back Monday". I found this a ridiculous policy and a rude lady. It was my first time trying this place in 14 years in Vail and I will never go back again. Poor service and bad attitude. read more

Best haircut I've had since moving to Colorado from Brooklyn. Truly: I will make the drive from Denver to Vail for future haircuts--it's worth it to not look stupid / like I have mange. And it was under $30 ($21 to be specific, but I was happy to leave a $9 tip). The shop is no-frills, but clean. The barbers were pleasant and not super chatty, which I sincerely appreciate. They seemed to spend about 25-30 minutes on each haircut, which is the amount of time it takes to do a good job, and they did a great job :) One tip: this is the kind of place that asks you your number (like what level guard you want them to use if they're buzzing the back and sides), so know your number. Absolute trash. I wish I could give 0 stars. The older women that works there should find a new profession. I came in asking for a skin fade to which she said I need to "find a black guy" if I want that haircut. Complete ignorance. In 2019 if you're going to call yourself a barber you should know how to cut modern hairstyles. I decided to stay as I needed to clean up my hair a bit. I asked if she can take a "very small amount" off the top. What did this idiot do? Take almost all of it off. And now because she refuses to edge it up or do anything else my hair looks like I'm 5 years old. I regret tipping her. She wasn't even friendly she seemed miserable from the start. And no, I'm not some crazy yelp reviewer I literally downloaded yelp just to leave this review because I'm so unhappy with the service. read more

This is easily the worst barber shop in the valley!! It is over priced and the haircuts are substandard. I have had bad haircuts multiple times there and the only reason I stuck around was because it was close and to get my free haircut, not worth it! I just came back from there and noticed an uneven cut in the back. I had to go back to the shop to clean it up, but they told me to wait in line again, process would have taken 5 min tops! I will travel down valley from now on and I suggest others do as well! read more

Walked in to the Barber Shop for a simple haircut, as one customer was just getting up to leave. As I walked to the chair, the barber blew her nose, wiped her face and said, "next?" I walked out leaving all the germs on her hands, clippers and chair behind. Come, on...at least wash your hands. read more

I was vacationing in West Vail and found this place convenient to our condo. The shop is located on the north frontage road behind Qdoba. The shop is clean and friendly with excellent service. I got a great haircut for a reasonable price. Will definitely visit again during my stay. read more

This place is unbelievable. The first two times I called this salon today, someone picked up the phone and immediately hung up. The third time I called, the phone rang for at least 15 times before I finally hung up. We then decided to drive down to the shop for a walk-in appointment (at 4:15 PM) but the door was locked even though the shops hours listed closing at 5:30 PM. The barber who was cutting her customer's hair at the time and had one client waiting, didn't even look up after we tried to open the door a few times, but just shook her finger at us, as if she was scolding us. This isn't the kind of customer service that brings a client back. Two thumbs down for this skanky place. read more
