There is this guy who lives in a house just off the 15th hole on the orange tees that plays dream-theatre-like opera/metal at full volume, so it's a tad distracting, but otherwise an awesome and slightly challenging course. Greens are very hilly, and tee boxes are kept looking well. The place needs a few more port-o-potty's, but all in all, a good experience!

I think the pro shop should keep an eye out for groups going off the back, and/or tell every group that checks in not to go off the back.

At $35 weekend rate (18 with a cart), this is by far the best deal I've found around Effingham. The Bermuda grass fairways were excellent, minus a few wet spots from the rain. The greens were smooth and rolled true. The course layout can definitely be a tough one, but with several tee boxes to choose from, it can fit anyone's game. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the clubhouse. It's not much, but its acceptable. They have a driving range and full kitchen for lunch. We will definitely be playing Angus when we come in town from now on.

It's not overly long and combines the usual Central Illinois geologic features (creeks, valleys, rolling hills, woods) in challenging ways. The problem is that this is a tight course. You play along and through a lot of tight openings. If you're a scratch golfer you'll have relatively easy time with it, but if not, bring a lot of balls and a lot of patience. If you want to lounge in a luxurious club house with a thick steak afterward, you'll need to go elsewhere.

For two adults and two rounds of mini golf the cost was only $20. We played each of the 2 courses; they have a blue course and an orange course. 18 holes on each course. Adult price for 18 holes is just $6. If you play the second course immediately following the first it's just $4 more. Hubs even bought a beer for a mere $4. The mini golf courses are very well maintained and super clean. No trash to be seen anywhere. Clean ponds. The gentleman working in the pro-shop/game area was super friendly and did a nice job of explaining the rules, as we'd never been here before. I like that Old Orchard had 4 different putter lengths to choose from. Most mini golf places never give you an option. I highly recommend visiting. Fun for all ages and a great location. You could definitely make a day out of Old Orchard and visit the bowling alley, too. We'll be back!

I love mini golf and this place was so great. First off, it was really reasonably priced for the two of us to golf 18 holes at $6.00 per person. They also offer food, ice cream, and a variety of drinks (including beer) to have while you're hitting the links. The holes themselves were really nice and well kept. They were equal parts fun and challenging. Quite a few holes have water hazards that ended up being my demise, but it was all in good fun. We golfed on 18 of the 36 that they have to offer, but we'll definitely be back soon. Highly recommended!

Having lived all over the Country I have been lucky enough to be able to play some truly…read morespectacular Golf Courses that are pristine and extremely expensive. I didn't even rate some of those courses as 5 Stars for various reasons whether it be the price, staff, or course conditions. Indian Springs is a wonderful course in southern Illinois that presents unexpected challenges and forces a player to use all 14 clubs in their bag. It isn't a 5 Star Course based on Bent Grass, hosting a PGA event or towering fairway bunkers but rather due to the prices, owners, and use of the terrain implemented into their design. This is a wonderful course that has various leagues, hosts tournaments, and treats its guests like friends. Most importantly (to me) is the fact that the owners are beyond friendly and extremely hospitable. I love visiting Indian Springs because she makes me feel like family and is genuinely excited to see me and always thanks me for my Military Service. I won't be playing here for a few years as I move to England but I like forward to coming back next time I'm in Southern Illinois visiting.
