My hubs and I visited Old Orchard Links for the first in the early afternoon on Memorial Day. There were only a couple of other groups here when we arrived, but by the time we left the place was packed. For two adults and two rounds of mini golf the cost was only $20. We played each of the 2 courses; they have a blue course and an orange course. 18 holes on each course. Adult price for 18 holes is just $6. If you play the second course immediately following the first it's just $4 more. Hubs even bought a beer for a mere $4. The mini golf courses are very well maintained and super clean. No trash to be seen anywhere. Clean ponds. The gentleman working in the pro-shop/game area was super friendly and did a nice job of explaining the rules, as we'd never been here before. I like that Old Orchard had 4 different putter lengths to choose from. Most mini golf places never give you an option. I highly recommend visiting. Fun for all ages and a great location. You could definitely make a day out of Old Orchard and visit the bowling alley, too. We'll be back! read more

The girlfriend and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather and played a round at Old Orchard Links yesterday and it exceeded expectations. I love mini golf and this place was so great. First off, it was really reasonably priced for the two of us to golf 18 holes at $6.00 per person. They also offer food, ice cream, and a variety of drinks (including beer) to have while you're hitting the links. The holes themselves were really nice and well kept. They were equal parts fun and challenging. Quite a few holes have water hazards that ended up being my demise, but it was all in good fun. We golfed on 18 of the 36 that they have to offer, but we'll definitely be back soon. Highly recommended! read more

Imagine having to pay 45$, waiting in line, and getting this. It doesn't take a critic to see this is burnt to kingdom come.

We had so much fun here on an outing with the Cub Scouts today. The kids really liked the water features at several holes, where water would take your ball to a grate and then direct it toward the hole. The course was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you! read more

Somewhat better than the Putt Zone on Dennison in Champaign. It's still really simple, but at least the sides of the courses are a little curved and there's some water hazards. The real problem here is the flags. Each hole has a removable flag in the cup, just like in real golf. So, on every hole, you need to decide whether you think it would be worth it to walk all the way down to the end of the hole (upwards of eight feet on some holes!) and remove the pin, or whether you're just going to fire away. Here's the worst part: you're always wrong! If you remove the pin, you'll end up skipping the ball over the hole and wishing you had left it in. If you leave it in, you'll end up bouncing the ball off it and wishing you had removed it. Then, somehow, you get accused of cheating by your sore loser opponent who you demolished in a sudden death tiebreaker at the Putt Zone the day before. The "grass" outdoor carpeting is in really bad shape. The poor condition of this, coupled with the uneven surface (I am not referring to the designed-in slopes, bumps and hills) make ball movement unpredictable. The course is also littered with tree seeds, sticks, and other natural debris that interferes with play. Lastly regarding surface conditions, the area immediately surrounding the hole is slightly higher than the surrounding turf, like an anthill. This means that if you tap it just right, so the ball stops rolling just as it reaches the cup, you risk your shot rolling 5' away as it veers off and rolls down these slopes. All these issues combine to make the mini-golf experience here pretty crappy. You should not win or lose because of worn carpeting, garbage on the course, and poor pouring of concrete around the pins. This would be a one-star, but +1 for the long weeds that are growing near the holes which, though an eyesore, allow players to take a break by reliving their fantasy Masters tournament run a la Carl Spackler. One of the more "adult friendly" mini-golf courses around. I disagree with other reviewers that the course is easy - I think it's rather challenging. Mostly because of small hills, and of course the dreaded waterfalls.. (getting the net to fish your ball out of the water can be a pain!) A lack of trees and shade on the course means you'll be stuck in the glaring, hot sun during the summer.. best to visit in the spring or fall when it's more comfortable. Clean location, staff is nice, the put put courses are in good condition and great prices. My friend and I debated if there was actual feces in the ponds the whole time. I realized they used Portapotty water so the leaves were so rotted they looked like POOP!! I'm not kidding, check it out and laugh with your friends. My family and I are very disappointed in the pizzas we got today. I arrived at 6:50 to place my order of 2 pizzas, and waited 40 minutes, but that's just the start of it - I get home and open the pizzas and they are burnt, hardly have any sauce on them nor the toppings we put on both. This is by far the worst pizza I have ever gotten. We will not be returning. Anything else would have been more satisfying. read more

Sometimes I wish the course was more difficult and had more novelty tricks to them, but I'm actually rather content with the way things are. Good clean fun, unless for some reason you would prefer to make dirty jokes the whole time you're out there. read more
