So what's there to say that hasn't already been told... Sweet location, awesome service with food and libations to match... "The Torch" as our group came to call it, became our post skiing meet up place.. We would grab a table outside and spend a couple hours reliving the adventures of the day... If we were lucky we would get a seat near the fire place but there really is no bad spots... All seats have a fantastic mountain view... Equally impressive is the service... Since we were mostly drinking we just opened a tab at the bar and enjoyed the ambience.. Never had to wait long to get served and their selection was impressive.. Also worth mentioning is the live entertainment both inside and out... All in all I highly recommend stopping in here if your in the area... I will return and drag others with me.. Cheers..

So, the ambiance and location are stellar. The staff are pretty friendly, even when it's Super Bowl Sunday during the game. We had 2 rounds of drinks and soft pretzels. The pretzels are really good. I had the black walnut old fashioned for my first drink and it was pretty terrible- old fashioned scare my favorite drink. make myself a lazy old fashioned almost everyday that are better than the one I had today. When made correctly, black walnut old fashioneds are a really beautiful drink- alas. My pomegranate ginger smash was better but still didn't knock my socks off. However, I returned to my room with a decent buzz and had enjoyed the atmosphere, which id the point of apres...

We can't get enough of this place! We come EVERY time we get out to Steamboat! They still have you cook your own, even after Covid!

After snowboarding we decided on timber and torch because it was at the very beginning and it had big enough space to accommodate the 10 of us. Our server was super nice! I can't remember his name but he was quick and efficient and was also witty. I think that the food was very okay. The chicken wings were big, which I appreciate because that means they're juicy. They're coated evenly and served piping hot. The fried pickles were so good we had to order 2 of them. They cut them into sticks like fries and served with a sauce which I'm not sure what it is but it's pink/orange. I split a burger with my boyfriend because by the time the main course came out we were pretty full from the appetizers. We ordered the burgess creek burger and had the patty cooked to medium, I think it was ground beef though... but I ate it because I needed food for energy. The nachos were kind of a disappointment to me. I mean the cheese and meat had already gone cold and hardened when it was brought out. They had a huge dollop of sour cream and guacamole on top. I think I would have preferred those on the side because they were right on top of where all the cheese should have been. Very mediocre. Menu was also very limited in my opinion.

We showed up again the next day about 30 min before close and the staff was super nice and didn't make us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. The beer was ice cold, hot toddy's were customizable and delicious, and burgers were yummy and worth the return trip. I gave this a 4 star only because the sweet potato fries were oddly large, tasteless, and overcooked along with the chili which was incredibly dry and basically inedible. I'm thinking this was because of how late we showed up though so I won't hold that against them. The rest of our visit was amazing so we will definitely be back!

It's a "nicer" restaurant. Most people were dressed pretty nicely, which fits the ambiance - definitely a little more upscale. Most recently, we walked in at 6:30pm on a Saturday and sat down at the bar. For food, We got the bread with butter and the wagyu beef. For the price to portion ratio, I was slightly disappointed with the wagyu. The strips were already sliced and cooked on each side, which I thought was strange. I was expecting to pick a temperature and cut into it myself. The bread was super super super good! Can't go wrong here. Lastly, the cocktails. AMAZING. I had the spicy "mocktail" but added an infused tequila and it was so good. So spicy but it didn't linger, stayed on the lips and mouth, perfect amount of spice. One of the best drinks I've had in a really long time

You'd think the food at a restaurant in a world class resort town would be at least better than mediocre. It wasn't. Now bear in mind, we didn't order one of the many entrees served with mashed potatoes and peppermint demi glaze (there's like 5 entrees with that side). I ordered the half soup, half salad as I wasn't super hungry. My boyfriend ordered the mahi fish tacos. How you can mess up a salad so badly is beyond me. I ordered the grilled hearts of romaine and the special parsnip soup. First, I was brought out a half of a grilled head of romaine with maybe 5 kernels of corn and 4 shaved slices of radish. No dressing. What was ever present was the strong smell of cheap cooking oil. Why ruin lettuce with crap oil? At least use olive oil. Anyway, the server brought out the correct salad (a smaller version with more toppings and actual dressing). Very whatever and the end of the lettuce wasn't even trimmed. And that cooking oil...gross. The fish tacos were good! One had a piece of fish that was kind of tough but overall good flavor. What do you expect for fish in the mountains of CO, though?
