This place is such a great find right by the slopes in Steamboat! It's part of the resort area, and the location alone makes it worth a visit. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and either way you get an awesome view of people skiing and snowboarding down the mountain. We chose to sit inside near the bar at this large table that could easily fit a group (around 8 people), and honestly, it felt like front-row seating to the slopes. Perfect if you're watching your kids or friends come down the mountain while staying warm inside. Now for the food--yes, it's a bit on the pricier side since you're right at the resort, but it's definitely not as over-the-top expensive as places like Vail, and the quality makes it worth it. I ordered the chili with a grilled cheese, and it was surprisingly unique. The chili had a different flavor than your typical version (in a good way!), and paired with that perfectly buttery, crispy grilled cheese with melty cheese inside... dipping it in the chili was SO good. My daughter got the nachos (chicken or beef), and they were absolutely loaded--seriously piled high with toppings and super flavorful. We also ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts, and those were a 10/10 for me. If you like Brussels sprouts, don't skip them. On top of all that, the ambiance is great and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Not sure why this place gets so many low scores. I ate here 5 days this week and the food was GOOD, the employees were professional and polite, and food came out FAST. Would definitely recommend ordering to go inside at the bar or outside at the to go station. Things we liked - chicken tenders, grilled cheese, grilled cheese with steak, fries (inside orders only), burgers, choc chip cookies, buffalo wings. We ended up having to go to the bar just to get our own drinks, and even then, I had to go back twice to ask for help. Despite complaining both times, nothing was resolved. It honestly felt like we were completely ignored. We were really looking forward to a nice meal, but the lack of service turned the whole experience into a frustrating and disappointing one. So what's there to say that hasn't already been told... Sweet location, awesome service with food and libations to match... "The Torch" as our group came to call it, became our post skiing meet up place.. We would grab a table outside and spend a couple hours reliving the adventures of the day... If we were lucky we would get a seat near the fire place but there really is no bad spots... All seats have a fantastic mountain view... Equally impressive is the service... Since we were mostly drinking we just opened a tab at the bar and enjoyed the ambience.. Never had to wait long to get served and their selection was impressive.. Also worth mentioning is the live entertainment both inside and out... All in all I highly recommend stopping in here if your in the area... I will return and drag others with me.. My family and I were excited to try this place at the bottom of the ski hill but unfortunately we did not have a great experience. They market having a happy hour, but it is actually just a limited menu with less food options which was disappointing. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained. The chicken sandwich did not have good flavor and the carbonara pasta was undercooked. The prices listed on the menu did not match the prices we were charged on our receipt and our bill ended up being more than what was correct. We had issues trying to resolve our bill and the staff was not the most accommodating. I hope that other people have a better experience than I did! read more

We even told the bartender no one has come, he said he'd take care of it and no one still came. So, the ambiance and location are stellar. The staff are pretty friendly, even when it's Super Bowl Sunday during the game. We had 2 rounds of drinks and soft pretzels. The pretzels are really good. I had the black walnut old fashioned for my first drink and it was pretty terrible- old fashioned scare my favorite drink. make myself a lazy old fashioned almost everyday that are better than the one I had today. Service was pretty good too! Then dinner, we waited a while to be seated, which was fine, it was a little busy. Then she half pays attention while we order, and the food takes a very long time to come out. Not her fault. She doesn't really communicate this with us though, only throwing in a random "sorry y'all, kitchen is "bussin,'" then didn't come back for another 30 minutes with a couple of wrong orders. I sent my burger back and it was very obvious they just removed the parts I didn't want and sent it back out, really glad I didn't have any allergies! We finally started heading up to the bar for our drinks to get them a little more quickly. When we were done, we waited so long to get our checks that we left the husbands to pay and she accused us of walking out on the bill until we explained. While this overall was a pretty good, just sometimes frustrating experience, I expected a little better for a restaurant with such a prime location and high prices. After snowboarding we decided on timber and torch because it was at the very beginning and it had big enough space to accommodate the 10 of us. Our server was super nice! I can't remember his name but he was quick and efficient and was also witty. I think that the food was very okay. The chicken wings were big, which I appreciate because that means they're juicy. They're coated evenly and served piping hot. The fried pickles were so good we had to order 2 of them. They cut them into sticks like fries and served with a sauce which I'm not sure what it is but it's pink/orange. I split a burger with my boyfriend because by the time the main course came out we were pretty full from the appetizers. We ordered the burgess creek burger and had the patty cooked to medium, I think it was ground beef though... but I ate it because I needed food for energy. The nachos were kind of a disappointment to me. I mean the cheese and meat had already gone cold and hardened when it was brought out. They had a huge dollop of sour cream and guacamole on top. I'm not quite sure what happened to this place but we have gone here every year that we have visited Steamboat and this will be our last time. The prices have gone up a bunch and they don't correlate to the quality. I understand prices will be higher at the base, but $19 for a kid's burger is insane. When we went online to make a reservation, they needed a credit card to hold our spot. So my husband went to make it, it asked for his Apple Cash Payment in the amount of $60. Um nope that is silly to do that. Then we got there, the place was dead. We asked for a booth since they were all empty, the hostess said we couldn't have one. When we entered the restaurant through the hotel direction, no one greeted us nor did a bartender acknowledge us. Clearly we were an inconvenience vs someone they should say hi to. Our server was super nice, but the food wasn't good. I had the lobster roll and fries and it was so salty. I had to run the salt off of the fries. I ended up eating only half the roll due to the salt. My one daughter got the Mac and cheese and it was so grainy since they must have broken the sauce. My daughter didn't finish it. So this was upsetting since the prices were so high. We would have said something to the server, but I really don't think the restaurant would have cared. read more

It seems like these bartenders are in a rush to get out and do not want to cater to us.. so bad pretty much did not want to do their job. We didn't get silverware or plates. Servitude term was bad. Great service! Had a very nice waiter. I sat outside waiting for my brother who was skiing. They turned on a fireplace and heater for me, and let me hang here for a while. Decided to stop in for lunch one day while we were staying nearby at the Sheraton. Both my wife and I wanted something light so we decided on salads. I got the wedge and added chicken. It's a wedge salad, nothing crazy there. But the chicken was absolutely wonderful. Grilled perfectly, just enough seasoning, tender and juicy. Amazing. We have been to the restaurant before and absolutely loved it! The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Today the service was still impeccable. There wasn't any food service outside of the restaurant or food takeout. We got a table inside the bar area and had GREAT SERVICE from the manager (Kim), the hostess (from Paraguay) and the waiter. Unfortunately the food wasn't as remembered. Chicken sandwich was very dry and salty. The fries were not brought out until after the meal (we asked for it as an appetizer). That said - the truffle fries were GREAT - but we were full. The pastrami sandwich was juicy and good. Nachos were not great. The cheese was runny, canned... definitely not the melted cheese we usually have on nachos. The green chili on top was great and excellent, as was the guacamole- but the soupy cheese was just wrong. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND the restaurant. Today wasn't indicative of this restaurant- they were short staffed. I will be back. read more

We've enjoyed T&T many times as we're frequent visitors to Steamboat, but WE WILL NOT be back. Three of us were seated on the less than 1/2 full patio (and only a couple of inside tables had guests) about 4:45 p.m., 7/4. We ordered several drinks and appetizers. Their food is never fantastic but on this day the wings were completely unappealing. Service was incredibly slow and they couldn't seem to even keep up with water refills. (We experienced better service there on Christmas Eve, unbelievably). We were still planning to make the best of it and enjoy a nice evening visiting with our son who lives here. We understand how chaotic tourist towns are (we live in one too) and wanted to give them some grace on a holiday weekend. We also knew we could still get out of there well before the drone show and evening party crowd. Our plan changed when, at 6:05, the grumpy, ill-equipped manager woman informed us that we needed to wrap it up, as we could only have the table for 1.5 hours and she needed to seat another party at our table 55 minutes later. (Why weren't we told this when we were first seated?) We hadn't even ordered dinner! There were still dozens of tables sitting empty and we were by far the quietest table there. It seems to us, after observation as we exited, if you're a Coloradan, they don't really want your business - so don't give it to them. If you are, however, a true tourist that they can take full advantage of, this is your spot. read more

Our waitress, Miranda, was awesome and on top of everything from drinks, menu knowledge, and recommendations. We had a table of 10 and she offered to split checks before we started ordering. 10/10 for Miranda! Ps- they do take reservations for dinner and I would highly encourage doing that because at 5, they were no longer taking walk-ins. What we ordered: wings (8/10), hummus (4/10), Brussel sprouts, (6/10), lamb pepperadelle (9/10), truffle gnocchi with and without duck confit (5/10), bison ravioli (9/10). The bison ravioli comes with a broth, not a creamy sauce, and it was SO good! I wanted to just drink the broth by itself. The gnocchi was a big let down unfortunately. Weird service. Our waitress was super awkward. At one point we ordered martinis straight up with a twist. She brought back martinis with olives. Okay, fine, but when we pointed out that the drinks were wrong she giggled and said well I don't know anything about alcohol...she actually said it 3x and said the only way she knows how to serve a martini is with olives so that what she told the bartender. First, you work in a bar and grill. 2nd, even if you know NOTHING about alcohol, despite working at a bar and grill, why didn't you just tell the bartender what we actually ordered??? Why would you take it upon yourself to change our order to 'something you knew'? She proceeded to provide awkward service for the rest of the meal. 2. Weird PDA couple - there was no joke a couple practically going at it at the table next to us. The whole room was staring at them. They didn't appear to have food or drinks at the table...just hanging out. Not sure if they were friends of the staff or off duty staff themselves but it was super creepy. My husband went to the bar to order our drinks and was then told the bar was not serving food for the next 20 minutes. ( could have been told this from the beginning...) Drank our beverages while we waited, went back to the bar to see if we could get a couple of glasses of water, was handed a paper cups and told I could go outside to the watering station... down two flights of stairs!
