He provided me with exercises to do at home, which made a huge difference in my progress. The office is very nice and clean with ample parking and friendly and helpful staff. Thanks to his expertise and support, I'm feeling so much better. If you're looking for a dedicated and compassionate physical therapist, I highly recommend going here!

My wife has been seeing Michael for about a month and this is her first time going to physical therapy. I work with a lot of talented physical therapists, and my good friend and co-founder of Clinicient Jerry Henderson researched clinics in Portland to give my wife the recommendation of Portland Sports Medicine and Spine Physical Therapy. He chose them based on their background in the McKenzie spine techniques of manual therapy that are evidence based and provide results that have not only freed her from pain, but started the restoration of function after only a few visits. We have been elated with the results. From the initial experience of setting an appointment, to the reception by the front office staff, to the handling of our somewhat challenging insurance provider (United Healthcare), to the outcomes my wife has experienced, our experience has been nothing short of AMAZING. She injured her back and shoulder and was practically immobilized from the pain. She went to a chiropractor and massage therapists, and while those offered temporary relief from the pain, they did not address the core issues. Michael took the time to understand my wife's injury and did everything he could to fit her into a VERY busy schedule including making early morning appointments available and using his lunch break to treat her. He spends a full hour in hands on therapy and is focused on her goals and needs. This kind of service is rare in an era of declining reimbursement and insurance hassles. Michael is truly patient focused and skilled at what he does and the results speak to that. If you are having pain and think you have to live with it, think again! Find a therapist like Michael who is a true professional and focused on the needs of the client! This is the best experience ever and you won't regret it!

They're office is great about getting me in as quickly as possible. I've been going to Woodstock Medical Group for over 4 years now. Justina the nurse practitioner and Dr. Smythe are always so sweet, caring and so good about remembering what's going on in my life and family even though I only see them a few times a year. I have 3 foster kiddo's and would love to have them see Dr. Smythe as well although, they do not take Medicaid at this time. If that ever changes I'll get them assigned as their PCP right away! Thank you Woodstock Medical Group for being so convenient, caring! Regarding the recent negative review; I also work in Medical administration. Although, providers offices may take a specific insurance companies coverage. Each insurance company has their own network specific to each of their plans. Providers aren't privy to know those details. That's why it is always best to use YOUR insurance companies website or provider handbook with their list of providers that are currently in network for your specific plan.

This is a somewhat new medical clinic that is trying to gain new patients so it looks like they are resorting to cheating people to make a buck.

Dr. Mesnier is supposed to be a good ankle surgeon and I have been trying to get an appointment since March 2025. Despite a physician referrral, good insurance, an increasingly unstable painful ankle I can barely walk on, an MRI with ligament and tendon tears, and filling out all the online paperwork, I have yet to see her. It's August. Her office cancelled my first two new patient appointments with short notice. Christina hasn't requested my records or MRI scan, even though I filled out and signed a request with my new patient paperwork. Yesterday I asked if she'd received my imaging and she said "No, I haven't requested it because it takes a really long time for them to send it, so it's the patient's responsibility." I told her I have to cancel and reschedule a half day of my own cancer patients for these appointments they keep cancelling, and asked if she could make my appt on a day when that won't happen. Her reply: "It's not my fault if patients need surgery". Nice. It doesn't seem like they want my business, so I guess it's not my fault if I go somewhere else. Dr. Mesnier probably doesn't know this is happening, and unfortunately this review is the only way to communicate with her. I will happily update it and the rating if I end up seeing her and having a good experience!

After a car accident resulting in a head injury, I self-referred to the clinic as I saw that they had a concussion specialist. I was so lucky to encounter Jesse and to have his care throughout my 6 month rehabilitation process, leading me to regain full-functioning. I hated the lazer. I hated the maze. I hated the dot on the wall. And, I hated the restrictions of basically not using my brain. BUT... I followed the rules, stayed the course, enjoyed banter with Jesse and trusted him fully. The words "thank you" will never convey my earnest appreciation for all that he and his assistant, Katie, did for me. Their patience, passion, and precise knowledge restored my life to all that it was...and maybe even more. Thank you both, from the bottom of my heart. You both are jewels to this world. Thank you.

In the past 6 months, I have run 500 miles and plan on running 500 more (sounds like there's a song lyric hiding there-- I swear I didn't mean it!) in preparation for some races I have planned in September/October. I've done my homework on running form, seen probably dozens of YouTube videos and thought I knew what I was doing as far as running was concerned. I have a tendency to start cramping on my right leg and thought to invest the money into PT to make sure I was running correctly. And boy was it worth it! Right from the get go, Jessie identified the weakness in my right foot and from the video analysis we identified the issue-- the weakness caused my right foot to compensate by over pronating while I run. Seeing my foot almost collapse from the pronation was both eye opening and humbling. Jesse set me up with a few exercises in order to correct my gait and I'm grateful to have come in-- I'd like to correct my form BEFORE I put a ton more miles on it. My calves and ankles are also grateful! If you're thinking about undertaking any athletic endeavor, getting PT is well worth it. If you have had a history of pain or injury in the past, PT will help you with form and strengthening the weak links and the energy leaks in your exercises. And ESPECIALLY if you have pain, they'll try to work with your insurance so that you won't have to pay everything out of pocket. Thanks!

I arrived on time, and they asked me to resubmit paperwork that I had already completed online. This took about 10 minutes. I sat for another 10 minutes, and asked why I wasn't being seen. The receptionist informed me that they ask people to arrive 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork, which I was never made aware of, AND even I were, I don't know why they would ask a person to come in 30 minutes early who had already completed their paperwork online ? It's very disrespectful of their patients time. I considered rescheduling to their Hillsboro office because it was going to impact other appointments I had that day, but they wouldn't have been able to get me in for quite some time which was not an option for me given my level of pain. At one point, I was quite literally, verbally attacked by a medical assistant for questioning why I was asked to come in so early, asking about rescheduling, etc. The only reason I didn't leave is that I waited for this appointment for so long, I'm in excruciating, chronic pain, and rescheduling would have pushed out my ability to be treated. Nurse practitioner was thankfully very professional, which I hope is more indicative of how Dr. Stephenson will administer my initial treatment. However, I will never set foot in the Happy Valley office again, and I will be actively searching for another solution longer term.
