I have been going to SCC since 2019, and for the first few years, the level of care they provided was unmatched. Unfortunately, after my PCP, Dr. Kara Crisp, left the practice, that level of care went downhill. I have seen multiple providers, and unless I agree to paying for an out-of-pocket test, some of which that have been questionable, they are uncertain about what to do. I have spent hours upon hours in appointments with really no answers, and while I do appreciate that each provider takes time to speak with me, getting a timely referral, or timely lab results, is something this clinic struggles with. Again, they used to be on top of it, so I am uncertain as to what has happened in the last few years. Recently, I requested a diagnostic test, and after a lot of back and forth, I finally had one scheduled. Unfortunately, the authorization number that was given had expired, and no one in the office knew what happened, and they kept passing the blame onto someone else, delaying and inevitably forcing me to cancel said test, unless I wanted to pay out of pocket, which would have been quite costly without insurance. The receptionist, who regularly laughs at clients whenever they ask a simple question, was also quite abrasive and unprofessional. When I had made a complaint to the office manager, the blame kept being passed onto others, which seems to be a reoccurring theme with this practice. There is 0 accountability, and one of the reasons I am giving this place 3 stars is due to how lovely the clinic's environment is. It is calming, welcoming, and a stark difference from that of a western medicine doctor's office. I am also giving 3 stars, because I truly did like my providers, but I feel like the office staff could have been more supportive of them, taken on more responsibilities, and could have had more clear communication. Something that had been a reality when I first started with them back in 2019. Yes, I understand that each provider is essentially an independent contractor renting out office space, but that's a poor excuse for not supporting them and not taking on the responsibilities other doctors' offices front staff typically take on. read more

My visit was Dr. Lopez was fantastic. She was very caring and helpful. She prescribed certain supplements and I am definitely feeling better. Unfortunately, their billing department is not very good. I've spent way too much time calling them, getting them to bill insurance properly. I got issued a refund because I overpaid, was supposed to be sent a breakdown of the bill and never was. And now, I'm calling yet again, because it seems to me that my refund is incorrect and short. The billing department is also rarely available to speak by phone. All in all, the care was fantastic, but I won't return for another visit because I don't have time to deal with the constant billing issues. read more

Dr. Satya Ambrose is a wonderful and caring practitioner. She helped me understand my lab results and has been helping me get better. She is also helping my father. It is always a joy to see her and receive her help. She knows a lot and is patient and loving. Highly recommend her care to anyone. read more

There I learned that a plant-based diet, when correctly executed (which is rarely is) would heal just about anything. I stopped in to inquire about becoming a new patient. The front desk seemed busy and not wanting to help. Gave me same forms and told me to come back. The girls seemed mostly interested in gossiping among themselves about other staff members. They did this loudly, which was awkward. If they aren't happy working there, they should quit. It was very uncomfortable to be subjected to. The clinic seems to lack leadership. I am starting to understand why.. read more

Pros *Dr Lopez is 5 stars*: Dr Kat Lopez was very warm and welcoming into her office. The atmosphere of her personal room is tranquil and calming, I appreciated the plants. She was very detail oriented, kind and calm and I felt like she was very efficient with getting to know my medical history. I felt like she listened. She also had a friendly relatable demeanor but of course in a professional manner. She asked my pronouns, so that is a plus automatically with doctors. She helped me out with my condition and I loved her. Cons *this makes this place 3 stars": I waited about 45 minutes to see the dr, granted I did need to fill out their paper work. The chairs were awkward and uncomfortable, and it felt crowded in the waiting area. It was obvious that staff flow was currently very hectic. It was overwhelming. The person in the front desk on the left with pinkish colored hair was very off putting. I asked a question about the form because I couldn't fully understand it. She seemed annoyed that I asked, she sighed and read it out-loud and she rolled her eyes while giving me the answer. She was sighing for a while in her chair. When she reviewed my paper work she said out loud, for everyone to say is that I need to be put my real "legal" name which I understand is what I need to do sometimes, but saying it out loud bugged me. I came to Sunnyside Collaborative Care to meet with Satya Ambrose, ND, for a specific treatment. Satya is very warm and friendly, and clearly cares about her patients. However, I found her communications, and those of the office staff, lacking. As other reviewers have noted, sometimes there is lack of follow up, and they don't seem to have especially good recordkeeping. When my treatment didn't work, Satya seemed to run out of recommendations. She (and the clinic) have their heart in the right place, but they need to run their business more competently. If you're going to work with this clinic effectively, you must assertively follow up, ask clear questions, and get recommendations and supplement types/doses *in writing*. read more

I'm a cancer patient in remission and I cant express enough how important it is to have that comfort care from your provider. Dr. Alberto Guuervo is compassionate, caring, and understanding. He really listens to your needs and advocates for you. I feel comfortable and relaxed. I trust him since he has helped my continuing medical issues repeatedly. This woman discriminated heavily against me, as I am a Catholic. The whole time I was seeing her, I just kept feeling worse and worse. She never once took my pulse or looked at my tongue, and constantly overcharged me. Worst of all, she continually insisted on being my spiritual director. I have had a fantastic experience with Satya Ambrose at Sunnyside Collaborative Care treating a chronic pain condition. I gave naturopathic medicine a try after several unmotivating visits with different doctors including a well reviewed specialist who told me this was my life now. Satya ran the right tests and figured out how to get my immune system up and running at its best as well as providing additional natural treatments. I have a bacteria called pseudomonas in my lungs, which is difficult to eradicate with antibiotics, but is treatable with a therapy called Phage. Because Dr. Ambrose is possibly the only doctor in Oregon who has access to Phage (a treatment common in Eastern Europe), I traveled 6 hours, got a hotel room, and paid nearly $300 for a 30 minute appointment. Satya Ambrose confirmed that Phage was the correct treatment and was optimistic it would work. I was unhappy that the Phage she gave me was nearly expired, but took it home hoping for the best. Sadly it didn't work. When I contacted her explaining that the treatment failed, she basically said "darn" and I should try a different type of Phage and her office would call me when they had it in stock. Months went by, and nothing. I tried contacting them again. Still not in stock. It's going on a year, and I feel like my visit was a total waste of time and money. read more
