Starbucks I have more and more of a like - dislike relationship with these days…read more Here are my likes: 1) The fact that it's one of the better places to come and spend time to study, meet people or work in a quiet atmosphere. 2) They really understand interior design creating comfortable spaces where people want to rendezvous. 3) They basically were the first to offer free wifi at a cafe. 4) You can personalize what you enjoy to drink. 5) Their lemon-poppyseed loaf cake. It's really damn good! 6) That they were pretty quick to have a Starbucks app that you could pay on your phone and recharge easily. Dislikes: 1) Very expensive for what you get (just shy of $5 for a grande cappuccino). Hence I usually just drink espresso or the odd cappuccino or the rare cold drink in summer. 2) Their fru-fru sugary coffees. When Starbucks first came to Canada in the late 90's I would have a caramel macchiato. Not my stomach turns just thinking of one! Pumpkin spice latte's mix well with Ugg boots for a woman + iPhone in hand. You'd never catch me drinking one of these hideous creations! 2) Some locations the baristas are overly friendly in a bit of a fake way. Thankfully not here. 3) How long the lines can be at some locations. This location today was not the case today...yay! 4) Their cold teas-lemonades drinks are half filled with ice. When you ask for less they don't really give much less. Overall some good some bad Slightly more good so I'll keep coming back but infrequently.

The breakfast sandwich was made with no egg. The waiter quickly rectified the situation by going to get a fried egg which he brought to my table. That being said, the breakfast sandwich had zero seasoning and was therefore quite bland even with the bacon. The potatoes were nicely fried and they were not oily but again, no seasoning whatsoever. It was a bit disappointing. The saving grace was the coffee, which was delicious. Service: OK Price point: Pricing is average and on par with most places.

As an avid cannoli lover, I had planned on having one, but given that they were pre-stuffed, I decided against it. This isn't the best bakery in town, but it has some nice authentic Italian options in the neighbourhood and I'm happy to have discovered it.

L'Artisan was picked straight off without even looking for it and didn't let us down. The baguette has that wonderfully crunch snap sound on the ear and my hot cocoa had substance.
