A Canadian institution, Tim Horton's is everywhere. Mostly breakfast stuff, as they supposedly have excellent coffee and donuts, they do lunches with sandwiches and soups too.
This particular Tim's is especially busy for the drive-through crowd at 7:00 AM. Since I don't have a car, I was a walk-in customer for my few visits. Three fourths of the time, the counter clerk spoke excellent English. The other times, I was able to get my way through the order okay - "coffee" and "bagel" translate well - though I managed to "yes" to a supersized coffee. No biggie, it's their country and language. I'm just a visitor.
Someone has delivered several copies of the local Saguenay newspaper for browsing. It's in French.
