There aren't many food options right along the road through this stretch of the TCH, so if you hit this place around lunchtime during summer travel season, expect a bit of a crowd here. In fact, expect a big crowd. The restaurant was full and the drive-through lane was backed up nearly into the road when we got here. The line to order was still inside the building when we joined it, but shortly extended out into the parking lot.
That said, the line did move fairly quickly. We ordered and had our drinks within five minutes, though our sandwiches--cilantro-lime chicken wraps-- took longer. Quite a bit longer. I'd worked about halfway through my medium coffee before we got them. But they were good, with more meat than I expected and weren't oversauced.
You could tell the crew were stressed, but they seemed to be good spirits considering what they were up against. While waiting for the sandwiches, I heard a woman who I took to be the manager murmur "This happens every day" a few times, but she was still encouraging the staff and managing to crack a smile occasionally through the mayhem. read more
