The going rate for an engineer to evaluate the structural integrity of a home is around $800. $600…read moreis most cases. This is for 1 day of their time. The folks at Andrew Consulting Engineers and specifically Neal Andrews, are trying to charge me $3800 for one days' worth of work. I agreed to their hourly rate. I didn't realize they were going to take advantage of me and fake bill me for work they didn't do. Only one engineer was contracted yet they are charging me for 2 (and the second engineer per Neal is not qualified). He states he is the only one qualified to do this work so I'm at a loss on the second unqualified engineer charge. And they are charging me for 8.5 hours on a report that was less than 2 pages long and stated nothing of substance. We know that report didn't take 8.5 hours. It's absurd and insulting to state that it did. I would not use this company as they are trying to take advantage of a woman. They would never charge a man $3800 for this service and they would never bully a man. I've received threats from them multiple times. I used another company weeks later for the same evaluation/work (certified engineer) and they actually produced a report of substance and charged $600. Neal is now threatening to sue me with their lawyer if I don't pay this absurd amount. I agreed to the hourly rate. I agreed to not let the invoice EXCEED $3800. I also knew there was nothing wrong with the house so it couldn't be that much or take that much time. I was right, there was nothing wrong with the house. The 2 page report shows that. Per the sellers they were only there for 4 hours. + The 8.5 hours they billed me for the report is bogus because no report that short could ever take 8.5 hours. The second engineer is bogus because per Neal he/she isn't qualified and I even never agreed to pay a second engineer. I hired 1 engineer that I thought was a decent human being. I didn't realize I was getting scammed and they were going to fake bill me to get their $3800 no matter what. The world has had enough of companies like this. I would never use this company for any service again.

I recently needed the advice of a structural engineer and called Saul Martinez of Martinez &…read moreAssociates, the day before the 3 day Labor day weekend. Never expecting to hear back before at least the following Tuesday, I was astonished when my phone rang on Saturday and it was Mr. Martinez. I'm sure he could tell from the tone in the voicemail I left him, that I was concerned. So that when he returned the call, and I answered the phone, Mr Martinez said he was sorry to call on Saturday, but with the long weekend, he didn't want me to wait until next week. That was certainly the first step in building my trust. After I described my concerns with a crack in the slab in my garage, I was then able to Facetime him images of the area of concern. Once he was able to see for himself, he was able to render some initial opinions, as well as, make some appropriate recommendations. The most important recommendation for me, was how to create a simple system of monitoring the crack and then allowing me to photo and text him pictures of the system after I had it in place. He left off by suggesting I monitor and follow-up with him down the road, based on any progression in the crack. I cannot express how impressed I was by his willingness to consult to me on Saturday in such a high tech way. I look forward to working with him and Martinez & Associates in the future, in the event the simple solution he provided today, requires more in depth analysis and the implementation of a more sophisticated solution. I called Mr. Martinez initially because of his credentials, I will work with him further because of the scientific approach he takes to his business and the concern he shows for his clients.

Excellent service from before the job began until its completion. Particularly excellent communication prior to hiring them to do the job, very responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and took the time required to talk to me and make sure I had all the info I needed. They made the process easy for me to understand from quoting to materials to describing the whole process that the crew would do daily to build my new roof. The company has years of experience installing IBHS FORTIFIED Roofs are IBHS Fortified Award Recipients and hold a IBHS Fortified Wise Certificate. They used the best quality materials, specified all job details in the contract, and offered a fair price quote to do the work. I met with the owner, John and was thoroughly convinced that Intracoastal Roofing was my top choice. John's wife, Kim, is the office manager and was most helpful throughout the process. John and Kim did what they said they would do. They worked hard to ensure that the company's workmanship is top-notch. The companies crew did an excellent job of installation and clean-up. I appreciated their knowledge and experience working with the fortified program. We had a terrible experience with Fuller Home Inspection. He was used by our buyer. I have bought…read moreand sold several houses and I was appalled at his unprofessionalism making broad assumptions without merit, using scare tactics in his verbiage. These broad assumptions were made regarding areas in which he is not licensed. He lacked Integrity, honesty, and objectivity which are fundamental principles embodied by the code ASHI adopted which sets forth obligations of ethical conduct for the home inspection profession. We felt he was in direct violation of this code and the scare tactic verbiage as well as the broad assumptions, at times ridiculous, he used in his report ultimately result in the termination of contracts on our house and the house we were purchasing to include loss of thousands of due diligence money. We then consulted and paid multiple contractors who formally stated these issues were nonexistent, directly contradicting his report. Buyers and sellers beware. If I could put no stars I would, but it won't let me.

However we are purchasing a newer home and had plenty of mixed reviews on whether to get the inspection, we went with our better judgement and scheduled it. An unexpected emergency came up and our original person had to cancel. With our time crunch and my husband in training it was going to be a difficult task finding someone to work around our short timeline and busy schedules.... Not knowing the area or businesses Glenn was a recommendation from our real estate broker's office and all his reviews were 5stars (put us at ease to find such a highly rated inspector). All we can say is WoW!!! 1. He was willing to fit us in last minute (thankfully we found a day that worked better) 2. Answered all my questions I had via phone 3. He met with my husband and answered all his questions in person 4. Our inspection was thorough and he pointed out all the mistakes and items that needed to be addressed by the builders. We received our final report and it seemed like he went through every nook and cranny of our home, even with it being a new home you would think things are done the correct way the first time however that was and is not the case. (Quantity vs Quality) THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!! -the riveras .
