We love this convenience/grocery store located in Alamo, NV. On each trip to Northern NV or Idaho…read moreand beyond, we look forward to this stop. Outside is a Sinclair gas station with reasonable prices for the area of the state you are in. Inside you'd expect to see a typical gas station convenience store - but you'd be wrong. What you have is aisle after aisle of a complete grocery store. So many great food options and a huge frozen section. Even some clothing and apparel items. Lots of cool stickers, decals, and home decorations also. Over the years they have done an amazing job of remodeling sections of their store, expanding, and adding features. It seems like we always recognize a couple of changes on each visit. Love seeing a place pour money back into their business and help better serve their community and tourists as well. They have clean restrooms and even a cool seating area where you can eat and drink what you've purchased in the store. Some of our favorites are the pre-packed plastic cups of fruit and other snacks which are perfect for long hours on the road. They have a huge cooler section full of drinks and fountain drinks if that's your preference. Friendly cashiers and plenty of employees to answer any questions you might have. Just a great place for a stop on a long or short trip through Nevada.

We live in Rachel and often go to or through Alamo. Yesterday we went for a few grocery items and…read moredecided to try their burgers. After we ordered there were several others putting in food orders. We waited almost an hour for 2 hamburgers with fries while everyone else that ordered got their food right away. All I can think is they treat tourists and folks who don't live in Alamo as outsiders and deliberately give slow service. My boyfriend finally asked about out order after watching everyone else get their food (and some ordered the same thing we did). He was just told "it is coming" We will NEVER eat there again and I warn travelers to plan your meals so that you don't end up sitting for an hour waiting for a meal.

Unfortunately, I can no longer bring myself to shop at Red Mountain Market. I encouraged loved ones…read moreto shop local, and we've gone out of our way to do so. We've spent hundreds of dollars at Red Mountain Market. Sadly, a few days ago, I was rudely confronted by the cashier, who I believe may have been the owner, Todd Muse. I came to the store to shop and ask a question about something I may have lost near the counter the other day (a pack of Hormel meals). However, no one was even at the register when I went in. Next thing I know, the cashier come sover and starts telling me I need to leave the bags in the front of the store. He then boxes me in and corners me there near the entrance like I'm some ruffian out to rob the place. I understand that businesses have policies to protect themselves from theft and loss. That's not really the issue. The issue was the way I was approached and made to feel as though I was doing something wrong simply by walking into the store with bags. I was treated like I was some kind of thief or a criminal for coming in with bags and looking at some protein noodles in an aisle of the store. I had come there as a paying customer, not as someone looking to cause trouble. And I can't shake this feeling that I was treated differently because of the way I look. That feeling became even worse when I read another review complaining about being treated differently in this store by an individual matching the description of the cashier because of a similar reason. I then asked about the item I thought I may have left behind a few days earlier. Instead of looking, checking, or even seeming willing to help, my question was immediately dismissed with, "Well, there's nothing we can do at this point." That really bothered me. I wasn't asking anyone to perform an exhaustive search. I was simply asking whether something might have been turned in or left near the register. It would've taken two seconds for the cashier to turn his head and look over the counter to see if my package of Hormel meals was still there. He couldn't even do that. It felt like he just wanted me out. So, I left. I left without spending another cent. And I never intend to spend another cent there. What makes the experience especially disappointing is that my family had become regular customers. We've spent hundreds of dollars there over the past several weeks. We specifically chose to support this small local business rather than automatically going to Walmart or Smith's. There were products we bought so frequently that we would joke that we were the reason they kept selling out. You know, if he hadn't treated me like that, I probably would've purchased all the protein noodles rather than ordering them on Amazon the next day. I probably would've continued to buy out the Hebrew National hotdogs and buy my wife the Red Button ice cream she loves. But no more. I don't expect special treatment because I've spent money there. I do, however, expect to be treated like a valued customer rather than with suspicion and dismissal. I strongly believe in supporting local businesses. But supporting local has to work both ways. Customers should also feel welcomed, appreciated, and treated with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable shopping at Red Mountain Market.
