There's a reasonable selection at Carpet Court, and I took in a picture of the rooms I'm considering carpeting to see what they could suggest. I like to hear the opinions of those who I consider to be "in the know" The staff were a bit hesitant to offer suggestions which I found a bit surprising, but they provided a few suggestions that sounded pretty good. I still haven't made a decision on what to do yet, but I'll be keeping this place in mind.

After spending nearly 8 grand on new carpets, I have been unable to live in my house for 6 weeks. The terrible chemical smell is bad enough but it's the health issues it's been causing are the main concern. My son and I are outliving our stay at my parents house, all to be fobbed off by the company, manufacturer and owners (apparently). After being referred to call another company by City Discount Carpets, I had a professional carpet cleaner to come out and access the smell. He's never smelt ANYTHING like it, not only that he actually came and asked for Panadol after only being in the house for 30 minutes. The chemical smell gave him a terrible headache, made him dizzy and feel sick. Even after getting a report written by this expert stating the house is uninhabitable due to the smell. I got told by City Discount Carpets that there carpet is to code and they would not do a thing about it. I've had to go to consumer affairs and will also now need to seek legal advice as I just want to return home without being made ill by there poor quality carpet. This is beyond terrible not just for me but for my son. A week or two of the smell I could cope with but it's coming into the 6 week mark with 0 improvement. Windows have been left open, heater on, carpets now have been steam cleaned. No resolve, no hope and NO RESPONSIBILITY FROM THE COMPANY!! AVOID!!!!!

At handover it was noted the installation was not done correctly and would need to be rectified. That was back in July 2022 it is now January and the installation contractor has visited the home three times and each time he has said the whole floor needs to be ripped up and replaced. Three times!!! Someone from Discount City Carpets also visited themselves and had the same conclusion. 8 months after handover and they have not rectified their work. They don't respond to email they don't respond to voicemail or return calls. Do not engage with them at all they have zero after sales support.
