They were able to make sure our island and countertops were in before thanksgiving , we were not expecting them to be in but it was surreal the timeline they predicted especially from Radu (he did our initial measurements and was knowledgeable and explained every step in detail) to final details after the installation. I recently had a granite counter installed at our cottage in Caseville. Brandon was great to work with and the counter is beautiful. I called Bradon to confirm the install date and mentioned I might have trouble disconnecting the sink, dishwasher, and garbage disposal, he said no problem his guys would do it. Yes they did it alright they didn't disconnect anything they cut through everything, drains, electrical everything then through sink in garage wrecking disposal. That whole mess cost several hundred dollars with parts and labor. NOT HAPPY read more

Sorry folks,,,the worst experience imaginable,,the Quartz had an objectionable seam when we specifically told our sales person what our expectations were. No Seams,,,No resolution. The first time we hired them all went well and we love the new vanity top. The second time was a nightmare! The installation was sloppy, the hole for the single faucet was drilled off center, the cuts were too short on both side splashes, the caulking looked like a 5 year old did it! I called and called and finally the service manager came out and agreed the top needed to be replaced and he would have someone call me to set it up. That was the last I heard from Tile and Stone! I made several more phone calls to our sales person, left voice messages in his voicemail, left messages with other employees, and never once received a phone call back from anyone. After 4 months, I finally gave up filed a dispute with my credit card company, sent them pictures of the disastrous installation, and they permanently refunded my money. Went to Detroit Tile & Stone today to buy countertop and tile for a new kitchen for our Lake House up north. The receptionist was rude and useless. She kept interupting me and wouldn't even let me tell her how they could. So I left and went next door to Tile & Stone. It was right next door, but it was like night and day. On May 20th we had Tile & Stone install kitchen countertops. The installer cut the dishwasher hose and made a 4 1/2" gash 1" wide. We sent an email and photos and Tile & Stone has yet to take responsibility. The replacement of the hose is not simple and a plumber is needed. We attempted to work with Tile & Stone and have gotten nothing but empty promises from Chris. Our dishwasher has remained unusable since May 20th. Unfortunately we have no choice but to leave a negative review. read more

I went to the 19 mile store and was helped by Brittany for our granite countertop. Brittany was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out the right granite. The installers, Matt and Dominic, performed an incredible job installing the countertops. I am truly impressed with the work they did at install. Every little detail was perfect. Window sill was installed, shimmed, glued and caulked. Never expected that. I have had a lot of home improvements lately and some didn't go so well, Tile and Stone Works took the worry and stress away. I signed a contract with Tile & Stone Works and paid in full. When the installer arrived, they told me that some of the granite pieces have been damaged (cracked). I called the Tile & Stone Works trying to get their help with respect to when they will be able to comeback and finish what they left off. I was told by my salesperson, Sean Blair that "DO NOT CALL HERE, WE WILL CALL YOU!!!" If I know what I know now, I would not move forward with this and I would not recommend Sean to anyone that I know. read more

She helped us pick out tile for our 2 bathrooms and two granite slabs for sinks. Everything looks amazing and everything was reasonably priced. We purchased our beautiful tile for an upgrade of our 2nd bath. The first time we came in we were helped by a knowledgeable friendly worker. Plus she gave us a 10% discount. The second time in another clerk begrudgingly waited on us. She acted like we were just a bother and NO 10% off. She actually never made eye contact with us. Recently After selecting a laundry tub and faucet at Lowe's, I decided To have them make a granite counter to top off my existing 30 yr. old Merillat cabinet. They said Tile and Stone Works would be the fabricators. They have a very helpful staff and even the owner accepted a call from me and gave me assurance all would be good ! And it was....is! You see My wish was to have the sink under mounted. Dave and Josh went above and beyond during installation, despite a sink with a cumbersome clip ridge on the underside. This was not a sink Koehler said could be under-mounted; but Stone and Tile Works pulled it off!!! Kris did his homework during the pre measuring process and working with the excellent shop fabricators each person worked diligently to make it happen.. I'm one happy customer and hope this review will assure others This is one fine company. read more

The selection of tile at this store is wonderful. They have classic, modern and fun designs. Initially the staff didn't seem too interested to help us. We were there to buy tile and once someone figured out we were serious they were OK with helping us. We placed an order and ordered the quantity our contractor told us to. When calculating the increase, the sales rep did not increase each piece in our pattern, just the entire square footage, so we were left missing some tiles. The woman who I spoke with on the phone did NOT want to help me. It was basically going to be a 2-3 week wait. I found that to be unacceptable and ended up contacting the sales rep for the company who manufactures the tile. After MUCH phone tag between the sales rep and store. The store manager came up with a great solution and I had my tile that night. It was stressful, but if we want to continue that tile through our house later, we are going to have to go through them... read more

I had quartz countertops installed from Tile & Stone Works in Shelby Township. Melissa helped me with it and she is wonderful to work with. I am very pleased with the quartz as I looked for it at several other places. There were problems with my order and I also had some "cold" sales people to work with. Despite the problems, I had a couple of employees who went above and beyond trying to fill my order. Diane, for example, was impressive. She made extra calls to find my tile and, when that wasn't working, tried to find other tile I would like. Yesterday when my tile was being installed and I was 9 tiles short, I had an employee at each of the two locations who were empathetic and found a solution. read more

We had granite countertops installed in our kitchen. We loved the granite, but the installation was so poor that the Stone & Tile boss is coming out tomorrow to discuss options for replacement. The installer did everything wrong: crooked cuts; miscut the faucet holes even though I had the new faucet sitting out for them to measure; cut one side so long that they had to cut out drywall to make room; one side 1/2 inch too short, which makes it very difficult to put in a tile backsplash. The installers tracked mud through the kitchen and did not clean up. the stone and tile products are very good, as is their design assistance, but I would never recommend them for installation. read more

I had a great experience here and recommend over other tile shops in the area. This is located in Shelby's tile row and is the best in my book. It has great customer service which really set them apart from the other stores. The prices are affordable and fair (I found the Tile Shop to be way more expensive) and they have quality products. These guys are totally unreliable. They took two weeks after I selected the quartz tile for my countertop tops. At that time they told me it would take two weeks to fabricated them. Finally, four weeks after they measured, they said they would install today. After emptying all the cabinets beneath the countertops, moving furniture and laying down a tarp to protect the carpet, they called after I had been waiting two hours for them to show up saying the installation would now be next week. I don't know if these guys will ever deliver. read more

The manager at Tile and Stone works is very condescending. They have two offices which shouldn't be a problem but neither office communicates with each other which puts all the burden on the customer. They simply could not call the correct phone number after repeatedly being asked to call a cell number. It took nearly a month to get someone to come out and measure and set an installation date. And this is after we already paid for the entire job.We asked for an early installation date and got the latest, so we had to reschedule. They were very rude. I have very little faith in this company. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have never felt the need to write a review on a company before. I usually read bad reviews and think the person was probably hard to manage and usually give the business the benefit of the doubt. However, my experience with Tile & Stone Works has been nothing less than horrific since the first time they came to my home to install. We chose the company for our kitchen and bath because I really liked the sales person that helped us. She was very friendly and approachable. Everything seemed to go fine on our first visit and we selected counter tops that were quickly scheduled for install the next week. On April 15, 2016 they were supposed to install both bath and kitchen. They called within an hour of the appointment window to let me know that the bath had broken and we would need get a new piece for install. A few hours after the kitchen was installed we noticed that there was a large crack in the kitchen near the sink. We notified our sales person right away and informed her that we were going out of the country the next day. She assured us that she would take of the issues while we were gone. Once we returned I immediately called to get a status and the new bath was installed on April 25th but nothing had been done to correct the kitchen. The new bath came heavily scratched. We had the kitchen replaced on May 10th which also came heavily scratched. We were told that the next steps would be to have the service manager come out to repair the scratches. Three times this was scheduled and all were cancelled within 30 minutes of the appointment window. Now into June with an unusable kitchen and sink we finally got the service manager to come out to repair the scratches and were told that they were ruined beyond repair and there was nothing that he could do. So, we had to re-select both counter tops for the 3rd time. On July 1st they came to deliver the new bath and kitchen and forgot to cut the holes for the bath sinks. So only the kitchen was installed. Once the installers left we noticed that the counter tops were unevenly cut and they broke a corner off and tried to glue it back on without letting us know. They returned on July 7th to install the new bath, I specifically asked them to look at the piece before it left to ensure that it was in good condition and was promised that the service manager would review before it left. It came looking like a wild animal had attacked it. So, we had to refuse the install. All the while the office manager was impossible to get a hold of and never called us back when he said he would. It was clear to me that I was the problem that no one wanted to deal with. We finally got feed up and asked to speak to someone higher than him and was told that we could select new, for the 4th time, or they would rip them out for our money back. We were told that there were no other options in case we were trying to scam them out of counter tops??? I have never in my life been more outraged or insulated by a company. I lost several vacation days to deal with these issues only to have to turn around and start all over somewhere else. For your own sanity think twice before even walking into Tile & Stone Works. read more

We were greeted by a friendly and helpful sales person who was super patient as we decided which granite we wanted for each room. They have a large selection and she was very knowledgeable. One piece was cut wrong. Took another week to get that . Have 31 places on the stone where there are imperfections. Said they can not fix. Very poor quality stone.. terrible service!!! read more

Remodeling our kitchen and Tile and Stone Works cut the wrong edge on our granite counter tops. They installed it anyways and said they can't do anything about it. They gave us money off if we would keep it. The installers cut the granite in my house for my stove top that left the whole house a mess full of dust. Then the installer told us he wasn't a maid. This review is for the sterling heights store. DO NOT THIS STORE! You will so disappointed! We unfortunately made a several thousand dollar order for countertops, flooring and tile for shower. It took over a month of phone tag and even though there are only two women doing the install booking nobody wanted to help get a date. So I tried to cancel order only to find out I couldn't cancel without losing hundreds of dollars since it had been measured. Another couple of weeks went by trying to set up install date. Day before install one of my countertops cracked while being cut. So I had to go back out to pick a new one. Upon arrival at SH store there was only one other customer in the whole store. Three employees behind counter one of them my salesperson Debbie. That customer left but I stood there without not one employee making eye contact or even saying hello. I was finally addressed by my salesperson. I had to explain why I was there. She took me out to the lot for reselection and spent the entire time on HER PHONE! I picked out another slab but needed sink color changed. Of course, she would change it. Another two to three weeks later and another round of phone tag for installation date. When it arrived wrong sink color and install guys didn't even caulk around edges of backsplashes! It WAS a HORRIBLE experience working with this store. I absolutely hate my countertop and sink doesn't even match!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!! Go somewhere where you and your hard earned money is appreciated! read more

I have had great experience with the store on 23 mile in the past. I visited the store on 19 mile and was less then happy. The salesman, Dave, acted as though I was wasting his time. I was told at the 23 mile store I could order my granite and put half down. When I went to the 19 mile store I was told no, I have to pay in full up front, even before it was measured. I didn't care so much, but Dave was simply rude about it. I will never go back. I have purchased granite here before and had no problems, but this experience has turned me off completely from them. Think twice when going and don't use Dave. read more

Overall a very frustrating experience! After our order was placed and they came and measured our kitchen and bath, we received a call stating they need another $300 for a sink that we already had agreed upon. Be careful of "promotions" as they charge an extra $100-$250 for every faucet/sink cutout. Very unprofessional! Timeline (short version): * To this point, I've already purchased thousands from them in materials and installed myself. * I spent a few weeks trying to get in touch with my salesman Augustino. He wouldn't answer, never available, and never called when he said he would. * I walked in and got a new salesperson, Brenda. * I ordered the product and hired them to install it. * It took them, no joke, 6-7 visits, to get a simple counter-top installation correct. From cutting the wrong size, to not bringing the supplies, to milled the wrong size, to damaged product, etc, etc. * Each time, all involved parties on their end would blame one another and then come back out several days later only to make another mistake. * In-between mistakes, I would have to call up Brenda and explain that the job is not finished otherwise it wouldn't have ever gotten finished as nobody there would take initiative to call me and schedule. * The store manager, Scott Paperi, never returned my voice messages. * This was the last major piece of my construction that was supposed to be finished in November but got finished in mid-January. * They collect all the money up-front for a reason! * Despite all of this, and even thought I had to constantly chase them down for them to take action, they would at least pretend to care and at least would come back out to my house time and time again. This is all very upsetting as they're a local company as opposed to going to a big box store like Home Depot. I pay more, get a bigger selection, and get to build a relationship with a salesman/woman. read more

Got countertops from Lowe's with Tile and Stone works as subcontractor. And job is lightly say - unacceptable! Countertop sitting on top of dishwasher bracket, not on my cabinets. Crack by the wall is so big - caulk they put already cracked. Overhang on the countertop is too big. Tried to call Tile and Stone works - and got 2 types of response - either "It's in industry standards" or "you signed the paper". We discussed right and left overhang, nobody talked about front. Person came to measure told - sign this, I have 4 other customers to visit. I called during 24 hours after install to say I am not happy. And what? I will deal with Lowe's about returning counters because according of Tile and Stone works representative distance between countertop and cabinet where you can put finger in it - its "industry standard". Cracked caulk because big gap - its "industry standard" also. 1/4" overhang over under-mount sink (you can break dish on that!!!!) is "industry standard"!!! Off-center faucet - "industry standard"!!! Or "you signed the paper". And the last - according to Lowe's person - they have 7 days after my payment to install counters. it was 10. And it would be longer if I did not call myself to schedule install. Cannot have water in my kitchen because plumber cannot install sink without countetops. It was HUGE mistake to deal with Tile and Stone works!!!! read more

Very poor customer service! The wall tiles I received were broken and not the same as the sample provided. The bullnose was correct, but they insisted it was the same as the tile when it had a different finish and thickness. Had to fight with customer service for hours to get a credit. They also "forgot" to order the tile for my shower pan and didn't order it until the rest of the order was picked up. All I got for all this trouble was sorry and now I can't get anyone to return my call to order the replacement all tile. With major problems or issues your shouldn't have to fight to get this corrected. I'm glad I didn't order my granite from them - I was going to - based upon another review I'm going to use someone else. Avoid this company. read more
