It raises awareness of Florida's cultural history while enhancing the enjoyment of historic sites for residents and tourists. The blue historic markers tell the stories of the people and places that were important to Florida's history and they can be found in front of schools, roads, archaeological sites, battlefields, cemeteries, historic buildings, and churches like this one. Historic marker F-1162 was installed in front of the Altamonte Chapel in 2021 by the Altamonte Chapel 2021 Board of Directors and the Florida Department of State. The Altamonte Chapel is a Florida Heritage site. The church was built in 1885 by settlers from New England. It was originally located near Lake Brantley and known as the Lake Brantley Union Church. A freeze in 1895 led to the area citrus crop being destroyed. The settlers were forced to leave the area and the church leading to it being transferred to Rollins College along with 2 acres of land in exchange for college tuition. In 1906 the church was purchased for $600 by Maxwell McIntyre a wealthy New Englander. He had the church dismantled and moved to its current location in Altamonte by wagon. By 1955 the church was once again holding services, weddings, baptisms, funerals, and other church events. This beautiful church is an example of the type of Carpenter Gothic style architecture you would see in New England. It was designed by a Boston architect, Josiah Clouse who also built other Central Florida landmarks. Standout features of the wooden structure include its stained glass windows and chapel bell. Sunday service is held weekly at 9:00 AM. As a fan of both architecture and historic churches, this beauty was a real thrill to find.

I was very pleased with the small and intimate wedding we had there. The minister was very sweet and the prayers and blessings were truly that. We were blessed with a gorgeous day and I have gotten so many compliments from our garden photos on fb. The wedding was great! :)

It is a super cute venue with cute little areas to take photos, a cute bridge with a waterfall and a cute gazebo for the ceremony. It is overall a very, very cute little place to have a small or casual wedding/elopement. My bestie gave me 8 days to plan her elopement and I found this little gem after we realized how gross the courthouse would be for the ceremony. It most definitely wasn't a venue for a larger wedding, but it was perfect for an elopement. We had 4 in our party and the day was not without stress or small hiccups, but overall it was perfect and affordable on short notice. Teresa provided great service and was accommodating on short notice. We did it on a Friday and we were luckily the only wedding party that day. My suggestion to the future bride is to be ready BEFORE you get there. The dressing room is small and getting ready there eats up your time for photos which made us feel a bit rushed. However, we didn't have a choice since we came from an hour away in Orlando and we didn't want the bride to be wrinkling her dress in an Uber for an hour. We made the best of it, the photos turned out great, and the couple got hitched. The couple really liked the minister provided as well.

Absolutely unhinged behavior. Also, my initial review didn't even mention how she charged us twice as much as she quoted me. She told me that notarization was $15 and each witness was $25. So that should be a total of $65. Once we got there she said it's actually $10 for notarization. But it's PER SIGNATURE. So we paid a total of $130. And I explicitly asked about payment method, she said cash, check, Venmo, and Zelle were all fine. But once we got there then it changed to needing cash for the witnesses which we didn't bring. Take your business elsewhere.

When she finally looked over our pre-nup, she didn't like the way the document was drafted and insulted our lawyer. She started filling in boxes intended to be left blank. My fiancee was nervous about the changes being made to the document; Nancy took this as an insult and made a bunch of back handed remarks about how we should be grateful she's such a good notary and if we have any problems we should "write a complaint to Tallahassee" instead of taking it out on her. She just had a really bad attitude. She also didn't tell me I would need to pay the witnesses in cash. I didn't have any on me, so it was an awkward situation. My partner and I were a little apprehensive about drafting and signing a pre-nup because we've never done it before. Instead of using that opportunity to explain her viewpoint and maybe teach us about how notarization works, Nancy just became combative. Now I don't even know how much water this document will hold. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone.
