Placed a pick up order over the weekend and got the 2 for $25 that comes with an appetizer and two entrees. The inside was pretty empty for dinner time but it was quick and easy to order. We got the queso appetizer and for our entrees I got the poblano veggie quesadilla and for the other just a blackened chicken burrito. We also got the kids chicken nugget meals that came with tattoos and m&ms. The food and drinks came out within 25minutes. The temperature was hot on some dishes and cold on others. My quesadilla was good I enjoy veggies more than meat sometimes when it's cooked well. We also ordered the cookie dough flautas for dessert and they are definitely one of a kind dessert. I always get the Flautas and the portions are great. I love that they changed it up and added steak options and now both chicken and steak have peppers and onions inside. They also added white queso to their menu, which is my new, go-to. Their sauce bar is really good I especially love the Rasta sauce. Our first visit to any Tijuana Flats. It's a pretty cool atmosphere. We ended up ordering chips and queso, shrimp bowl, shrimp fajitas and spicy chicken tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious! IMO their food is better than the other chains that offer a similar menu hands down! When I first saw my taco plate, it didn't have that 'wow' factor but once I started to eat, the flavors exploded. I was not disappointed! I was also surprised because they were pretty busy and servers still found time to service the tables (refills etc,), clean the dining area after each customer and actually took the time to clean the finger prints off the glass door. My adult daughters first experience with Tijuana Flats, she enjoyed it enough to want to seek out the Indiana location. We both had different types of chicken Chimichangas and they hit the spot. My sons order was wrong and they mixed up his sides with mine. He was given crunchy tacos when he asked for soft tacos. Either way, he said they were "just ok." He only ate one and gave the other to his little niece to eat the meat. Service was really poor. Their employees seemed absolutely miserable to be there. First time visiting Tijuana Flats. The girl working there, Vanessa (I think?? Blonde hair partly dyed a different color maybe purple??) deserves a shout out. She greets you quickly with a smile and makes sure you are really taken care of. She's got an amazing professional personality that's very friendly and welcoming. She took care of the register, cleaning tables, sweeping floors, refilling anything anyone needs, and probably helped make the food. If you see her, make sure you TIP well and show her some appreciation. She deserves a raise too, we all need employees like her :) The meal started with the Tijuana Trio. I love being able to try a little bit of everything and this appetizer was a generous portion just for sampling and more.... The crispy shrimp and corn tacos were delicious. Full of flavor and the BONUS was that they have a lot of sauces to make it your own style and flavor, but you don't need a ton of sauces because it's really great just as is. The garlic lime shrimp bowl was not bad. The used my extra chips from the Tijuana Trip to eat with it. I enjoyed eating it more with chips! I kinda made my own nachos from it. The portions are large. The menu has lots of choices. My friend and I both had flautas. I had steak and she had the spicy chicken. I enjoy Tijuana Flats because it's fast, convenient, cheap and it taste good! I normally stop in for the taco Tuesday deal. You get two tacos, chips and a drink for $6.99. I mean you can't beat that. I really like their ground beef tacos. I get one soft and one hard shell. They also offer wheat tortillas which is definitely a plus for me. The tacos come with shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, onion and jalapeños. I'm not a fan of the chicken tacos anymore because I've noticed that they are a bit too dry for my liking. The chips taste really good and they give you a good amount. Honestly these tacos are pretty hefty. I think one of my favorite things is they have a really good Hot sauce bar with a great selection. I've only been to Tijuana Flats once. It was really good food. I got there and ordered a to-go flauta platter because it looked like the fastest thing that could be made. Littler to my disappointment, it took about 20 minutes for the flautas to be made and they lost the order.... how do you lose an order that was placed at the register. Like seriously. I was waiting for my food with my friend. While we were waiting, a waitress recognized my friend and sparked a conversation which was pleasant until the waitress started to curse and talk about how she openly takes drugs and gets wasted for fun?? Definitely get the Dualing Queso. Okay now for the bad. CLEAN YOUR RESTAURANT! The floor was sticky and dirty. And the bathrooms were an embarrassment. Full trash can. Fruit flies in the trash can. Dirty toilet seat with stains and hair on the bowl lip, Filthy walls and disgusting floor. And chips on the floor of the kitchen. Now for the food. We got picked off the new Carnitas menu. Both carnitas we got were soggy from the juices of the pork. Meaning we left were with wer tortillas. Who wants wet tortillas? We got the slaw on the side and it was flavorless. The sauces? Inedible. Tijuana Flats is a chain that serves Tex-Mex food, it always is usually in some sort of strip mall or some thing. It doesn't always look like you're going to have the most amazing cuisine ever, but I visited this location and Brandon, and I tried their new shrimp menu, I was incredibly impressed with the level of quality in relation to the price of the dishes/food. I have been to one before, and I got some food or a burrito I think but this time I got the grilled shrimp rice bowl, and the fried shrimp tacos, as well as drinks and an appetizer of chips with guacamole. It was absolutely delicious, and not only was the food delicious, but the people that work there at were very friendly, helpful, nice, attentive, and great. The staff that helped us order at the bar was informative with what the dishes included, and what we could get, and then when we sat down they cleaned the table. Super nice employees and manager working at this location. There is a drink bar with alternative beverages besides soda fountain drinks, including beer, carbonated water, and more. Then the menu is on screens behind the registers. There is plenty of seating in here, the interior is so fun and colorful and has a great theme! There's paintings everywhere even on the ceiling which I thought was a fun touch so it's a good environment to eat. When you leave or get close to the exit there is the hot sauce bar which you can try any sauce if you want. The staff was helpful when I asked for extra sides like limes and sour cream, it made the eating experience there feel much more high end! there is also a pick up area right near the entrance that you can get your food if you ordered beforehand. If you like fried foods and shrimp specifically I would definitely go for the shrimp tacos, I've preferred the shrimp rice bowl since the shrimp was grilled and it tasted absolutely amazing the quality was so good and the flavor just was very smoky and savory. I'm assuming the quesadilla is warm and cheesy and great, so you can't go wrong with their new shrimp menu! Definitely try this location out the people and the food are awesome especially for the price point. !!!TLDR: great staff/people, fantastic food, low price point, fun (and colorfully painted) environment to eat in, equals fantastic eating experience for a great price and value! I have been to this location many times before to eat, but have never written a review. Now since they came out with their new Crunchy Queso Burrito for a limited time, and Yelp was nice enough to treat us Elites to this goodness, I figured this would be a perfect time for a review. First thing I have to say, is two big thumbs up to the employees there. They were super nice and attentive. One of the girls came out several times to ask us if we needed refills, more chips, or to go boxes. I don't remember any of the servers being that attentive the past few times I have been here. I came here with my two teenage boys and boyfriend. All three also wanted to try the new Crunch Queso Burrito. We ordered two of the chicken burritos and one beef. Once they came out to the table, I took one look at this burrito and thought..."There's no way I'm going to be able to finish that!" This was a massive burrito, and as I cut it in half, it was packed with rice, beans, protein, chip strips, queso, cheese and a garlic lime sauce. This was also served with chips and a side of more queso and salsa. Here's what I thought about it. I noticed that the beef stuffed burrito became very mushy from the grease because my boyfriends hands were covered in it. The tortilla was soaked through. Still very good in taste though. I am glad I ordered the chicken. This burrito had a great taste of all the flavors combined. My one and only complaint we all had was that there was no crunch. The chip/tortilla strips became very soft from the food and it didn't have much of a crunch at all. Definitely not like advertised. Either way, this would be a burrito I would definitely order again. I just wonder if there was some way they could make the strips from becoming soggy. This place is very cool. The decor is bright and has a college feel. The walls have various posters of celebrities who have visited. Staff greets you at the door and is very attentive to you. You place your order, pay, and then sit. When ready, staff brings you your food, refills your drinks, and cleans up your table when you leave. Being familiar with Tijuana Flats, we decided to have lunch there. When we walked in, the place was jammed full of people. We immediately knew that we had made the right choice. I ordered a chimichanga that was lathered third in red sauce. My wife had some tacos. And has always there was plenty of nachos to munch on. The meal was extremely satisfying. Tijuana flats is my favorite place to eat with kids or with adults who just want a drink. I discovered this Florida gem several years ago while visiting my cousin in Bradenton. I was hooked. Millions (it seems) of different salsas for you to try. They have hot, medium, green, red, any sauce you could ever want. They don't charge extra for the sauces, and there are so many ways you can customize your food. The chips come with your meal, and the burritos are Yuuuuge!!! I don't know what happened to this location. They used to really take care of the customer. I love the chain, and they've been a regular part of my taco routine for a few years now. But my last 4-5 experiences at this location have been miserable. Twice through uber eats (picture attached), three times dine in. Each time their beef tacos have been so greasy the taco shell was saturated through. And after ordering through uber, my order was wrong, literally every time. I'm not sure if the management just lost attention to detail, but I'll never go back to this location again. When you spend 15 bucks on a few tacos and a drink you expect them to be palatable. This is the second time this week I've ordered the same thing from here (great TEX-MEX)! I recently moved to the area from Hawaii and love trying new restaurants! I ordered the steak bowl thru GrubHub the first time then did a curbside pickup. You can customize what goes into your bowl and if you want extra of anything. I requested no beans but wanted everything else that was in it and extra sour cream and guac. Only change I will make next time is to order double meat (not as much as I thought would be in there). The hot sauces were so amazing and flavorful! I suggest the habanero hot sauce, although spicy.... it doesn't kick your ass too hard and the flavor was AMAZING! Your entree is survived with tortilla chips which actually made a great addition to my meal.
