Made an appointment online for a "concours condition" 1984 El Camino several weeks in advance…read more Basic service....Oil/filter change, transmission service, differential fluid change and "multi-point" overall inspection. Received a confirmation email and as well, a reminder email/text the day before. Took the day off from work, drove over from Salem, and arrived 15 minutes early for the 9am appointment. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DO NOT DO ANY SERVICE ON CARS OLDER THAN 1995!!? I asked why nobody had bothered to call me to let me know of their service policy and was told that, "....we don't see the details of the service appointments...."????? I also asked why there is no mention of the policies on their website and was told, ".....we have no control over the website...."????? This is a General Motors, Chevrolet dealership, right? (I also owned a "Show Condition" 1966 Mustang GT. Every Ford dealer I did business with was always more than happy to service the car!). What else can be said here.....The episode speaks volumes for itself. (And to think that we were considering the purchase of a new Suburban!) On a positive note, the one "Service Advisor" did recommend a local repair shop that did work on "Classics".......

I wouldn't have responded but since you did, let me address your 'discrepancies'…read more 1. I realize the picture is not of the console; it's the left panel adjacent to it which MUST BE REMOVED to take the console out. Both left and right panels need to be taken off as I watched a tech from another company do the job correctly after you refused to come by and fix the shoddy work after more than a month of promises to do so. I have included the way it looks now after this company put it back together. They said you put things back together in the WRONG ORDER which is why there was a gap. Additionally you only put a few screws in (the minimum) to hold things together and left the console cigarette lighter disconnected, so they fixed that as well. I've also attached a picture of the hairpin clip they used to fix it which has held up just fine. They actually ordered the clip from the manufacturer but because I had been waiting so long for you to come by and fix it they put this temporary clip on it. They have offered to replace it with the real part for no extra charge but after looking at their solution I believe it will hold up just fine, unlike the one you installed which FELL OFF AFTER ONE DAY and TWO SHORT DRIVES. 2. You certainly did promise to come by and repair the issue for more than a month (originally you estimated at most a week or so). But how long is a customer supposed to wait? I think a month is not acceptable by anyone's standards and after A FULL MONTH went by I got another company to take of it because I couldn't wait forever. Despite all the shoddy workmanship, this is by far the worst part of your business. I understand new customers haven't paid yet so you are interested in doing new work and getting paid while I have already paid you, but I submit to you that reputable businesses take care of unfinished business FIRST. If you don't believe this is true I suggest you take a course in BUSINESS 101. 3. I signed no such waiver before work began. The only thing I signed was the invoice showing the work had been completed. If you had any problems with "self-diagnosed" repair work, why did you accept the job in the first place? And by the way, since my diagnosis was proven to be correct (the original clip was missing, so there was no link between the gear shift lever and the transmission cable), why is this a problem? You had a chance to see that this was indeed the problem before you started the repair, and after it was complete, the transmission was able to be shifted again so it WAS clearly the problem. The real problem was the quality of your repair which only lasted a day. Since the other company put a quality clip on, the car hasn't had any further problems which further demonstrates IT WAS THE PROBLEM. So because I guessed what the problem was, and you confirmed it once you saw it, there is no guarantee on your repair work holding up? That sounds like one big, fat BOGUS excuse for not doing your job correctly. 4. I sent no threatening email. I simply stated that if you weren't going to return to properly fix what I paid for (it had been a whole month of empty promises at this point) or return my money that I was going to post a report online and send a complaint to the BBB. I even told you this was not a threat. I just told you what I was going to do and in fact I did what I said I was going to do. I gave you many outs and all you had to do is live up to your commitments or return my money. You chose to do neither, so here we are. The ownership of the car has not changed in years. My insurance company requires me to be listed as a co-owner in order for my mother's car to be on my insurance. I also help pay the registration for her and take care of maintenance for her so it's convenient. But the car belongs to my mother and always has. She would have enjoyed her stay a lot more if she had a working vehicle when she arrived, thanks (deflect much?). I have already had the car repaired by a reputable mechanic and no, I won't let you come within 20 feet of any of my vehicles after this experience. I have dealt with many auto repair shops, both good and bad, but this is easily the worst I've ever dealt with. By the way, I noticed that your company Facebook page talks about people you've never done work for lying about you? Why would that be? Why would someone that you've never done repair work for make up things about you? You can't be talking about me because this was posted days before I posted my YELP report. After dealing with you, I may have a clue as to why this is. To anyone reading this, does this sound like the web page of a reputable mechanic?

I would have left a better review but I've spent 3 days putting in new bolts and tightening ones…read morethat were left loose. Two sensors were damaged and timing was misaligned which caused me to have to go back and redo the work I paid for originally. Only good thing that can be said is he did communicate.
