****AVOID AT ALL COSTS****
TL:DR at the bottom
I'm not going to be able to fit everything I need to say in here but I'll try to hit the main points.
Lost paid rent money for several months with us speaking to them continuously throughout the process assuring us it would be fixed each time. End result, they tried to evict us and we had to provide bank statements proving we had paid for them to fix their error.
Maintenance is a nightmare. If they come at all, usually requests are ignored because there was not "enough detail". During the peak of summer, we were without AC for a week and a half and when I continued asking about it, I was informed that I needed to contact the HVAC company myself, and take time off work to let them in. End result, Tiger properties changed our appointment with no notice and I lost half a days wages for no reason. Also it took threatening for lawyers to get involved for them to even get us a temporary unit, which didn't happen for almost a full week. The official response from them was to "try and stay out of the apartment".
Still on maintenance, more often things are broken rather than fixed. We had an icemaker "repaired" where they left the housing removed with wires and components exposed. In another instance, they broke the entrance to our attic and left it hanging down with no solution and our house 10 degrees hotter than it should be. Additionally, our porch has serious structural integrity problems which we have notified them of repeatedly and we are simply told "not to use it" even though after we notified them, they did weeks of renovation in our downstairs common area and forced us to use our porch as our only point of entry. Long story short, if anything at all breaks, you're completely on your own.
Moving on to customer service, they are almost always openly rude, and rather than listening to you and trying to figure out how to make things right, they accuse you of lying until you prove your facts.
Multiple times I have called the office to get an issue resolved and I am promised that it will be and that they will get back to me. They simply provide lip service and nothing gets done. When I call back about it again its like I never called the first time. If you have already made the mistake of renting from them, get everything in writing so you have proof when they try and screw you over.
TL:DR:
In conclusion, this is a company that cares about nothing but dollar bills and will treat you as poorly as they think they can get away with. They prey on college students and lie to prospective tenants (a guy gave a tour and told them that all 4 bedrooms were the same size as the master). Bring your own toolkit because even though renting is supposed to be easier than owning, if you don't fix your own place, they won't. (They will try most likely, but if it involves spending any money to fix, you are in for a battle) read more
